Residence of Brokpa people, Brokpas are only settled in four villages of Ladakh, namely Garkhon, Darchik, Dha and Hanu. Brokpas of Ladakh have retained their cultural identity and managed to remain almost unchanged over the centuries. Despite the influences of various cultures they have preserved their pristine purity, their age long cultural tradition, customs, rituals, and religious practices. They are different in the way of living and unique in culturalar activities from rest of the ladakhi people. Climate of the valley is sutituble for farming many crops such a Barley, wheat, grapes, apricot and many vegetables.. On special occasion they use to drink barley beer and grapes wine. They celebrate different festivals such as Bonona, Manthana etc,
