Although we do not officially start until next Saturday Dec. 21st, Winterthur was having a Santa Brunch and many families and kids were there. So we opened up the train shed and fired up the locos, which was appreciated by many! Great very enjoyable.
Very nice!
Wonderful video!
This is beautiful!🎉🎉🎉❤
Amazing video
That is a beautiful layout! A lot of work went in to setting it up. I know the folks that see this are really going to enjoy!
like.
Great video, thanks!
Wow really impressive work!
WI SGMA group did a similar but smaller thing at the library in Eau Claire, WI last week. Ran trains the first time on Dec 7. Tue and Thr evenings and Sat afternoon thru Dec. No video made.
Amazing!! Thanks for taking the time to putting video together. :)
Nice!
Just looking back, some really awesome trains on the layout. Still stunned that the new Dave Carse Forney Gp7 can pull 18 State Cars by itself. But also gotta say, almost nothing cooler than a pair of Challengers running together on the front.
Omg you guys have a lot of the great standard gauge trains and my favorite bucket, list, item from general trains, and yet you were just showing a bunch of pictures of old people standing around, run the trains. And sell me the general trainstrain
As per the title, this was the breakfast meeting, hence it included all the people who attended. There are 4 other videos that are focused on just trains running. A large part of SGMA is the social aspect of catching up with those we only see at York.
Wow nice !
I really like that Dreyfus Hudson Meteor and the Bi-Polar.
They really sound and look cool, thanks.
Just found your channel, very cool. I missed York and will miss the Fall show too, thanks for the video.
Broke me with the tinplate challenger
Great videos and still shots Joe!
Fabulous coverage and editing, Joe. Sure glad you spent the time and careful attention to capture not only the superb trains but all our friends enjoying the event.
This is awesome Thank You !!
Incredible historical film of a 1964 layout that features Lionel Standard Gauge trains. As a note, to augment the weak audio, turn on the closed caption feature [CC]. One of the features mentioned is that the rails are all hand laid over individual ties!!
Best yet so amazing
Was a fun day, lots of great trains showed up but the show was over way too quick. Thanks to Kirk, Jeannette, Chris - and Joe! for putting together a beautiful layout at Winterthur.
Yes, the Pennsylvania Challenger is very cool. Looking at your channel, there seems to be at least one other articulated engine. I’m not a standard gauge expert, but I’m guessing those are custom builds?
As far as I can recall, yes. The exception might be the very last day Super Brute electric, but that too is a bit of an one off. Further info on it is in the description on the Jan 2 video.
Great video!
Awesome layout and consists. Standard gauge? Thanks!
Yes, all Standard Gauge. Members of the SGMA (Standard Gauge Module Association) brought their trains shown in the videos.
Wow!
Great trains and video! Love the Pennsy 2-6-6-2!
These are great! Any idea who made the camelback and the inspection loco? Same builder from the finish-
Sorry, I do not. The inspection car was very well done.
Love the PRR Challenger train!
Looks like it has been there forever. Great job
You need deep pockets for a Standard Gauge layout!
Who is still building standard gauge trains? Clearly these are not all from the 1920's and 1930's!
While some trains running are originals from 1920's - 1930's, many are from the modern era. Some are scratch built by a few very talented members. The most commonly available are from the 1980's - 2000's Lionel Classics / MTH (Mike's Train House) which are in reality one in the same. As for today, I would recommend the book "Not Your Daddy's Standard Gauge", available from David Carse for those interested in MESG (Modern Era Standard Gauge). CMT LLC PO Box 21 Hinesburg, VT 05461 The price is $120 plus shipping of $16 At 648 pages it is the "Gold Standard" encyclopedia covering all the manufacturers, their trains and their stories.
What do you use for grass and track bedding? If you don't mind me asking. I would like to do that with my standard gauge trains setup.
Outdoor carpet, green for grass, grey for road bed. This came from Home Depot but same is available in many places.
@@joeblossic8864Thank you so much!
Thanks for posting the pictures for those of us that could not make it Awesome !!
I love the custom made T1. Simply a beautiful engine.
