If you have water available when you catch the mud crabs rinse them off in the bait bucket. That makes ID much easier.

My favorite fish to catch is redfish, speckled trout, and flounder! New to the channel here! And new to NC. Is nice to see some local from here fishing. I’m from fl and I used to catch EVERYTHING there but I moved here abt 6 months ago and I haven’t had a bite since I moved here. Hopefully I learn a thing or two from you and how the fishing is here!

Was this in masonboro or topsail? I love seeing some one local catching reds and trout in the winter. Colder water temps make it tougher.

My favorite fish are Redfish, specs, and flounder.

Do you know how these mud crabs might last overnight? I was thinking maybe throw in a freezer block or a frozen bottle of water for a next day fishing trip.

My 3 favorite fish to catch are... 1) Reds - because they fight so hard and grow so big! 2) Smallmouth bass - because they fight above their weight class. 3) Largemouth bass - because there are so many ways to catch them.
