I've been eyeballing this plane since I started flight training 18 years ago. If it weren't for lack of a place to store it (without renting hanger space) I probably would have bought it. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Love the Seamax, There's nothing it lacks if you are looking to fly for pure enjoyment
@@cowboypilot3710 What's the word on sea water vs. fresh water regarding added maintenance?
The music overlay makes it hard to hear everything that is said, especially in flight.
Do you like the seamax or petrel better?
Personally I like the Petrel better but if you need folding wings the Seamax is close enough that it would be a great option
Wow ! I love this
Not sure Mosaic is “revolutionizing” anything. It’s more like just catching up to what Europe has been doing for decades. It’s still good though!
It would revolutionize the current FAA rules in the U.S.
How was the noise and wind inside the cabin when compared to the P92?
There wasn't a noticeable difference in noise levels. The P92 doors seal better so wind is less as well but I wouldn't say the Bushcat has an issue with cabin wind.
Tango Uniform. That was my trainer also.
It was the best of the bunch, a few of them I was worried would fall apart at any moment lol
Yay Tavares!
What I like the most about the Seamax is the speed and range bonus. The tricycle gear is a plus imho _ It is much cleaner in flight and if you screw up and land in the water with the gear down you are not going to flip and sink.
I agree it’s an amazing plane
😻 Promo`SM
Awesome I am currently thinking about building a plane.
I've thought about building my own plane for years
Yep. She flies just like a dust cropter.
Dust cropters rock!
CROP-DUSTER, not dust-cropter 😂🤣😉
dyslexics untie! 🙂
Icon is in a huge financial crisis explains why they required that amount just for a demo.
Yeah it’s a joke, the most I have ever paid for a demo was $200 yet Icon wants 30k down.
@@cowboypilot3710 $200 is explainable, fuel and landing fees although you are promoting their brand just by talking about it but just ludicrous. I remember seeing their Promo when it came out and at that time I wasn't a pilot yet and Ill be honest the price point they initially launched was really good but nowadays its just ridiculous almost a 100% increase and for what? Just a quick one have you flown any SLING aircrafts? If not Would you?
@@dylanjamesweggz3573 Last I heard Icon was 3 x the original quoted price with way reduced performance to boot!
I've never been at the controls myself but I've flown quite a bit, he seemed very busy on the stick, was it really gusty or just nerves?
15-20 mph crosswinds so it was bumpy for sure
Good God that's a beautiful panel. I am dying my ifr training in a 172 without any AP.😭😭😭
Brother I'm not a big fan of the old 6 packs lol, glass panels for me every day of the week :).
That’s too cool I got my license at apopka in N577TU in February 2022. I did the 2 week course in January. Great video
Thanks brother, TU was my favorite plane of the bunch for sure, my backup was TA.
I traded a Challenger UL, for a m squared breeze 2. I've gotta get new sails for it. Can't wait until it's ready.. mines got the 2 stroke 582 blue top. Plus I need a new prop, and brakes.
you're gonna love it
Ya, stay out of Alaska boys.
Lol I was just learning, I mean you gotta start somewhere right?
🆒💩‼️🚀
Any one knows how much does it cost in a kit form? Please let me know
$42,000
45 now
Can I put a parachute on older models or just when I buy new?
Just bought a SeaRey ( factory built) mine has a 914. Jumps off the grass and water. The canopy and nose wheel on the SeaMax were the disqualifier for me. In my opinion a fun airplane needs open windows and ability to land in tall grass and or drag your fingers through the water. Accidental gear down water landing seems scarier to me with that canopy, not to mention hot as blazes in Florida. Folding wings are a huge plus though!
Agree, the seamax just sems so lightly built.
I believe the sea max did gear down water landing test and it didnt flip. Unfortunately not the case for the sea rey
HI may I know how much does it cost?
even if its deleted you can still retrieve the information with software that will retrieve the deleted information.
Your welcome come fly with me in DeFuniak Springs Florida. Searey
2:21 Can’t fly commercial with that battery.
Can you compare these planes to float planes?
Float planes are top-heavy and are much easier to tip over or crash on landing.. This plane is essentially a boat with wings
@@cowboypilot3710 thank you 😊
I have seen 25,000 hour float plane pilots loose their lives on a river with a crosswind, something that is impossible with a flying boat due to it being so low to the water. I would never own a float plane. Have flown in a Beaver out of Vancouver and Victoria, B.C., but then you have open water to always align into the prevailing winds.
Excited
Great vid and informative.. building a home on Lake Norman and researching the best option .. I can launch of my beach but need folding wings to store in the garage. Watched your sea max vid too. Totally different price points but would you go with the Breeze on floats, the sea max or something else ? Some other nice options but no folding wings kills it for me. Appreciate your advise 👍
I apologize for just getting back now, a Breeze on floats would be crazy fun but limited to short range while the Sea Max enables you to spend the weekend in the Bahamas if you like. The in between plane in mind would be the Searey, it is priced in the middle of the Breeze and the Seamax and has an open air feel to it but with more capabilities.
that kind of airplane is the pilot need to be license
You need to be at least a sport pilot but the one seater planes like this you do not need a license for
Very enjoyable video… Thank you… Is there any tendency to porpoise on takeoff?
Hmm very little, I noticed it more on the Searey
This is 100% pilot control, any seaplane can porpoise if you don't control attitude. The OP is sharing his very limited experience.
I wrote you a while back and you were going to get a Rey did you get one yet /
Not yet but I plan on getting something soon!
@@cowboypilot3710 Ok let me know I am going to get trained in another business soon and if it takes off I can move out of this crap hole but I want to get a used Rey and restore it I want one so bad
👍👍👍
How the chicken doing in the winter months
Doing great, my only issue is the hawks
Ditch the face Diaper mate, you’ll get hypoxia!
Lol I had to wear that face diaper, trust me I’m no fan of that crap
Been looking at and flew the Searey. Did not think about the Seamax! Thanks for your video and input. Seems like a really good option. Only bummer is no sliding canopy. Wondering with the nose gear if it will handle more crosswinds in a land landing and takeoff? Thanks!!
It handles crosswinds much better, I would not have flown the Searey the day I made the video in the Seamax
@@cowboypilot3710 Cool. Thanks for the response!
Between the Seamax, Super Petrel, and Seamax, what is your favorite? i have a super petrel and also fly my friend's Searey. I have never flown a Seamax
I love the Super Petrel and for cool factor is my favorite. That being said the Seamax has folding wings which means I can take it on family vacations and that makes it a better fit for me right now. I got my sea rating in a Searey and really enjoy it but it’s easily behind the other two.
Searey has much more power, much sturdier gear and sliding windows. IMO, there is no comparison. Also, the Seamax has a tiny little nosewheel that could easily be a problem when beaching in anything but a perfect beach.
This is my dream plane been dreaming about it for years. I am checking on training to get into another business if I can get the training and get it launched I will have the money go get me a Rey . I just want a used one and tear it down and restore it. Did you get a Rey ? You didnt say or not. I hope you dont blow people off when they ask you questions.
I have not picked up a plane yet but the Searey is right at the top for me. It’s definitely the best bang for the buck when it comes to amphibious planes
@@cowboypilot3710 Was it a rush to be in it ? Especially on the water I would of been shitting my pants I gotta get out of my rut and I keep dreaming for a Rey. Dude if you get one you have to do a follow up I really want to see it !
I see a 2015 Searay Elite on barnstormer for $120k includes the training from Searay and ferry flight in that price. Even new $170k compared to an ICON way more for your money.
@@Mike-01234 Oh hell dude that is dirt cheap for that price I will buy four of them money is no object just pull it right out my ass ! You rich people crack my ass up 😂
the meepo is a better buy than the evolve gtr for sure but the gtr is still the better board by allot. Even tho the gtr is overpriced most boards around that price have better performance. The gtr is still worth 2-3 times the money as the meepo. It has better performance, you can chance gears, wheels, get good service, better carving and more comfort because the motors aren''t in the wheels. The only advantaches of the meepo are that it is lighter and cheaper. Anyways whatever the board esk8 in general is alot off fun so enjoy.
I just bought one can't wait v4 er
nice... i'm waiting till after fun n sun to start and probably be in the same plane. the whole right hand flaps thing is probably going to bug the crap out of me too
3000 RPM / 60 MPH fly the airplane to the ground - hold it off and when you want to land pull the power off. That is what works for me. Just like at the 4:00 Minute mark in this video - ua-cam.com/video/KXKxsRE9-sA/v-deo.html
Good luck if your Meepo board breaks though. My hub motor literally fell off my Meepo V3 er. All they do is send you the parts and make you fix it yourself. That’s why you pay extra for evolve. You can literally send your board to evolve and they will fix it and make sure it’s running properly. You buy an evolve for the costumer service.
Love the board ! I got mine yesterday
Mines comes in 2 days. I can't wait.
I love this!
Would have liked to see more of the flying in the vid. :(
He has other videos so it’s fine
Still riding this? I'm looking to pick one up and I'm pretty close to Oviedo so if you are looking to sell, I'd be interested!
How are you feeling about the landings in the Bushcat at this point? Winds, float, etc., etc.? Did you get a chance to use trim to stabilize your approach? I was surprised the CFI didn't suggest that. What are you flying now?
Great review..Thanj you...subbed
I didn't think you did that bad with it. You were probably more nervous than anything. So airspeed and fly it all the way to the ground, right? You mentioned getting that side push as you were floating in ground effect. Well, ya ok, but you have controls to avoid letting the wind have it's way with you and at some point you would have/will learn what airspeed is required to lessen that float. It's all learning. You weren't dangerous, just not as perfected as you will be if you keep flying this new to you aircraft. You will be a Bushcat instructor within 50 landings :)
