In 1988, when the Bills lost to the Bengals in the AFC Title Game, Ickey Woods had 102 rushing yards on 29 carries, and the Bengals ran for 175 yards on 50 carries. Eight years later, the Bills are eliminated because of another dominant rushing performance (Natrone had 175 yards on 31 carries). From 1990-93, the AFC flotsam couldn't do this (or didn't try hard enough to do this). They didn't get the memo that running the ball is the key to beating Buffalo in January.

The Dallas lines on both sides of the ball won the game. Then Thurman Thomas quit. This game was there for the taking. Dallas was shaky in all three Super Bowl wins. That's why their dynasty ended in 1996. Troy Aikman was always rattled easily. Especially when pressured. Jimmy Johnson was vastly overrated. Go look at Jimmy's four years with the Miami Dolphins. Marv Levy should've been fired after Super Bowl XXVI. The current Bills are wasting Josh Allen's talents. Sean McDermott should've been fired two years ago.

A clip of the bit with the fake snow at the end of the postgame report was used three years later when Bob left _NFL Live!_ for his farewell montage.

Christmas Eve weekend in 1989 was one of the coldest weeks in NFL history. Even games in Tampa and Miami were in the low 30's.

Thank you so much for posting this. One of my favorite past times was playing this game with my mom and brother. Then id pop this in my vhs in my room and let it play over and over and over again till it broke lol. It was such a comfort for some reason 😊

At 1:10:30, this is BS. The NFC (from 1984-96) didn't really beat anyone in those Super Bowls. They beat Tony Eason. They beat Marino and Elway when they had an average supporting cast. They beat the 92 and 93 Bills and 94 Chargers (teams that didn't deserve to be in the Super Bowl). Get the heck out of here. The 97 Broncos beat Brett Favre and the #1 defense. Call me when any of these 80's and early-90's NFC teams beat someone like that.

Yeah, they would be back again, alright. Over and over and over. By the fourth time (SB 28), it was sickening, and one of the most embarrasing moments in sports history.
