    The J- bars inside the stock FR liners are massive and it's also a thick liner especially when it isn't broken in, great for stiff skates like FR... BUT if you need a more supportive liner for example, people that urban skate with longer frames and want the fastest reacting skate with a tighter fit in the smallerst shell then Intuition is the way but the main points are responsiveness and performance... comfort comes 3rd down the road once they're properly broken in... and if you want the thinnest smallest liner available with minimal support but comfortable, there's the 2nd skin from MyFit...Well done with the vid, keep rolling 🤘

    I tried the old 90's RB liner the seba e3 liner and the twister XT liner. Currently I have the stock FR1 liner and it's the only one that I haven't experienced any foot pain with. I'll probably replace it with another FR liner once this one gives out.

    Here's the misconception about Intuition liners... they became popular because of their responsiveness amongst the Wizard community & the ability to down size shell size because of their thinner density. Which in either case, they sit atop the ladder. But as their popularity grew, people twisted things up & assumd that responsiveness equates into comfort. How that came about is baffling because those 2 words aren't synonyms nor interchangeable. Then folks just jumped on the bandwagon, started dropping $200 on liners & regurgitated what everyone that came before then said. Manufacturers caught on & had Intuition make a scaled back, dumbed down, oem version of their liner for their skates & all the sheeple thought, "oh snap, I can get this complete skate that comes with an Intuition liner for $250-300 & the liner alone is worth $200...what a score". Then comes the, "not exactly what I expected" because a bunch of urban & aggressive skaters bought into the hype spewed by Wizard skaters. Those 3 genres of skating look for 3 completely different traits in a skate/liner.

It never fit me even though I studied and research so much about sizing, after 20-30 of riding my feet just hurts so much. I found a local shop here in NYC to try and get some opinion from a skater. We tried a couple of sizes from 10-11 skate. my Mondo size is 27cm but the Fr2s I have is actually 28.5cm, so I was confuse but I trust the owner of the store. After the next I tried skating and it didnt even hurt after 30 mins. Now I've practicing basic stops and backward skating cuz I can progress now without worrying about pain. I might get a smaller liner in the future cuz this feels a little bit roomy. Tnx for the video!

    I see that V shape at the Achilles tendon and that's exactly what my Edge XTs liners have, which are just awesome ones. I see the lack of a V shape in the Intuition and I already know they will not grab your heel as good and I wouldn't like them just because of that. Thx for the vid. Getting off the cvd couch and starting skating again. My 15yo cheapo's finally bit the dust. Happy because my arches hurt after 10 minutes. Might be because of the heal rise and skinny heels / ankles. Backwards skating was intolerable. Now in my 30s and tired of crap skates, I'm looking for the last pair ill ever need to buy. I've been looking at the fr3's but just found the f5s. I didn't know the falcon boot was comparable to the fr boot and couldn't find any info on it. I'm now considering the f5s for the cost (100 bucks less). Durability from road rash isn't a consideration, but comfort and arch pain is. Fr seems to spend a lot of attention to possible hot spots and a secure fit, so I've been leaning toward them. Is FE's falcon boot really comparable to a boot 100 bucks more? Is it just your foot shape that the Fr fits or could you say it because Fr really has a better boot and liner? Also, can you comment on the stiffness in the cuff between the two? I plan to upgrade to 110mm or 125mm frame shortly after. I'm tired of floppy cuffs and firmness to help w the additional hight.

      It's tough to say. Both skates serve different purposes overall. The hardcore evo is super light weight and when you develop the muscle you absolutely fly. The FR1 is a fantastic skate to just throw on and go. With a super easy buckle system and wide eyelet lacing it makes putting on and taking off super fast. I can also wear my FR1s for longer periods. Did you skate the same boot with both these liners? Because it's better to think of the Intuition liner as the downsizeable liner. It's not really a question of which liner is more comfortable. So for example you have a 275 foot, you'd probably get the US size 10. But that is a dual-size shell which is actually *exactly* the same as the US size 11 (which just comes with a bigger liner). Therefore you end up in a 290-295mm shell, which is far from ideal. So the best option in this case is to get the US size 8-9 shell (next shell down and about 280-285mm shell) with the Intuition liner. I.e. the Intuition being about 5-10mm thinner gives you that option. Goal should always be to get into a shell where you are at the top end of the shell sizing. Deluxe is a really bad name for the model as it gives the wrong impression.

    • @tech_know_sk8er

    You said the FR1 liners are better and more comfortable because they’re thicker, but can you talk about the difference in fit? Such as how much support each liner gives? how each liner holds the ankle? Is there a looser or tighter feeling with each liner after break in? It would be good to know how each of these fit different foot types, like low vs high volume feet etc…

    So I ordered fr2 skates eu size 42 boot size 8. Well with the fr liner it is just too tight. I thought I could break them in but my foot starts to ache. I was thinking about getting intuition liners cause if they are thinner it relieve the discomfort.

    Thanks so much for this review and comparison. I was actually debating whether I should have gone for the FR1 or FR1 Deluxe. I had read some people say that they downsized for the regular FR1 and it fit extremely tight at first, and then broke in where they were very comfortable, but then after a while they packed in even more to become too roomy and loose... so I wanted to ask you since you've skated them for more than a year, do you find that the stock FR1 liner eventually packs in to the point where it feels too roomy and loose fitting? I also wanted to ask if you had any problem getting a good supportive fit by tightening the top buckle due to the top of the regular liner being so thick and cushy? My feet are an E width, so they're considered "wide" on shoe charts, but I also have a pretty low volume foot because I'm skinny, which is why I'm kind of interested in the regular FR1 liners, because it seems maybe the thickness of them will help with filling out the space where the intuitions being thiner may not. I've tried the FR1 in a half size down, and they feel very snug all over the foot (to the point where they feel super constrictive after 10 minutes) yet the fit feels like a potentially good performance fit out of the box, the length feels right... but I'm just not sure if the liner is going to pack down so much to the point where they feel too loose. Would love your feedback on this. Thanks!

    • @tech_know_sk8er
      @tech_know_sk8er 2 роки тому

      So I've found that in my most worn pair of FR liners, the padding will eventually wear in a little, but it will remain very cushy with plenty of ankle support. With the intuition liner made for FR, it already seems to come fairly packed with not much cushion. I'll do a video going in on this topic this week. But, the fit of the standard Fr1 is interesting. I believe they are selling the deluxe version in a wider variety of half sizes. I wear a 44 in standard and a 44.5 in deluxe. I haven't seen one real benefit in buying the deluxe; even my strap broke the other day. My standards are still plugging away after 2 years of almost constant use. The only thing to wear it was my laces. The only other thing I'll touch on briefly is the school of thought that liners are like laces and wheels and eventually should be replaced as well. While not nearly as often, liners could be replaced every year if necessary.

    • @mountainpeakcloud8442
      @mountainpeakcloud8442 2 роки тому

      @@tech_know_sk8er Thanks for the response. I look forward to your video. I actually ended up getting the regular FR1, and the thick padding on the inside does hug my ankles and the rest of the foot tightly. I guess my question is, if the regular thick padded liner can really hold your ankle and everything else in place, how can a much thinner liner line the Intuition snuggly hold the ankle and foot in place? I understand that sizing down will make the Intuition more snug, but I just don't understand how it could fill out all the negative spaces the contours of the foot makes. From what I've heard from other people, the Intuition, while being less cushy than the stock liner, is support to be more supportive and responsive, due to it being taller and more dense, but I'd like to hear your experience with that. I find that even if I tighten my laces and straps, I still get a bit of lateral wobble, and I can feel lateral ankle movement... I'm not sure it that's good or bad thing, but I imagine that if you're landing jumps, you probably very good support around the upper cuff? I read that the Deluxe liner is put into one shell size smaller than the equivalent regular liner.

      @A.Juste although I can't offer exact numbers I can confirm that the stock fr1 frame is heavier and made from a thicker aluminum than the deluxe

    Hi, is it good for long distance city rides? And comparing to the Tau and Next which one is the most comfortable? I knew that the heel rise about 3mm in the Evo pro compared to Tau, but i do not know what does that means and how it effect the performance.

      So in my experience the heel rise helps accommodate a more aggressive stance for slalom style skating. Personally it doesn't bother me with long distance also. The fit makes it very comfortable to wear and the carbon fiber makes it light enough to reduce muscle fatigue. I'm not familiar enough with the Tau to five advice but I know it's an amazing skate. The flatter and lower to the frame and ground you get the skate the more you can achieve a wizard style skate setup. Alternatively the FR1 is a fantastic super comfortable skate and I've heard the FR spin is incredible. Thank you for watching, check out my Instagram content if you havnt already 😃🎊🎉💚🙌

      @@tech_know_sk8er that is so informative, I made my mind for the hc evo pro, but unfortunately, I can not find the boot only. I ts out of stock everywhere. Do you think they are preparing for the 2021 model? Do you know when they usually release the a new model?

      @Anas Hamed typically it does signal the release of a new skate with upgrades for the following year, or the release of a new skate entirely. They could possibly be gearing up to compete with seba cj carbon and offer a more flat setup or continue optimizing the EVO.

      @@tech_know_sk8er I felt the same also, I think I will keep using my SEBA highlight carbon 2015 until we get a clear information.

    Am still in between the tau’s and the evo pro!! I have medium feet. Btw, are they good for long distance and comfortable for skating long hours?
