In preparation for our wedding in Gambia, we visited two of the biggest markets in the country shopping for bridal clothes for our big day. December 4th was the Presidential election in Gambia. Streets are empty, businesses are closed, and Gambians went to polling stations to vote for their next president. This was an amazing day. Bola’s sister was teaching me how to cook one of the most famous dishes in the Senegambia region called Benachin. As a Taiwanese, I have never seen one person cooking for the entire house. I am glad that I participated in cooking for the entire household comprising of at least ten people. Yeah Gambia becoming multicultural I was down there in November I saw all these international women of other races walking around town holding Gambian men hands the marriage office was crowded I got on plane to Gambia I had to call my BF to ask him was on the right plane when we landed in Banjul my BF said look that’s why you wasn’t sure all these women of different races were meeting the Gambian men my sister went to the Gambian for wedding she is married but she thought this guy was cute and hooked us up my BF is a nice guy but ladies be careful
