Coltons Countryman Challenge number 2 hill climb!
How do I get my hands on one of those LYNX STAMINA ENDURO red jackets in the US?
Love your dog !
What would you recommend for fighting the sled in the turns (both in ice and sugary snow). I have the sag set factory recommendations and I am having major steering struggles. I am thinking I might have too much ski pressure but not really sure. Anything you recommend for me to try out and adjust. Thanks
Do you recommend the same setup for the 23 Xterain 850?
Any recommendations for sag on the brutal/easyride+?
What do you think the top speed is on the 900 turbo R Xterran?
Hi Colton, Please do one on preload/sag settings, preferably following the recommendations of Lynx. Their recommended front preload/sag settings are missing from the owners manual and their masterclass videos.
Where do you have the coil springs set to on the front shocks and also on the center shock?
I assume this was a pre production 2024 Rave, any idea if the production sleds got the same valving or if any changes were made? Just got my '24 and reading there manual sport shock settings and yours are way off compared to even the sport setting, I plan on trying both sport and your settings, I have both in my phone, thanks for the vids, love them, keep the content up!
Anyway you can get a 2024 Xterrain 850? I would love to see the changes it for got 2024. With new gen chassis and what it looks like
Hello, quick question? Where did you get the basic Lynx hat you have on? I ordered a 2024 xterrain and I want a Lynx hat but all of them are too flashy or weird. I just want some plain ones like yours that are nice and clean. Can’t find them on the site? If you could let me know I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot
I don’t care if that is the best or fastest snowmobile ever made. It has the ugliest light design on the face of this planet.. wtf were they thinking.. it’s hideous. It looks like a fucking Sc-fi D class monster movie face. 🥺🥺. Sad as I truly wanted a 2024 but absolute not after seeing this haha
Gotta say your videos are very informative. Great work. Appreciate it very much!
Can this machine wheelie on flat ground?
Not like the RE or the Rave. I could have it wheelie in steep hills that had a lot of snow on it. But if you’re looking for a sled for more wheelies and a lot more play then I would suggest the Xterrain RE
Thanks for doing this video 🙏🏼
Absolutely! The brutal needs a little not attention!
After 5 XRS sleds in a row, I am going to give the RAVE a go next season. Looking forward to the 46s!
I'm coming off a Bunch of XRS Gades, You will be very Happy! So much more playful
I love the reference to “dirty mike and the boys”. We’re talking about some D’s going into some A’s in that shack!
Well I ordered a rave with 3 hours to go, cant wait.
Where did you find the compressor adapter for the horn?
It’s from horn blasters. Just Google air horn for drill
Handsinger….that’s a first for me, it’s usually Handshaker 🤣🤣 Great video man, loved hearing the horn when we hit the top.
Hell yeah!!! Going to be a yearly thing!
I think @Turcotte16 earned a new nickname . . .Doordash
That looked like Turcotte16 on the pro x
"It's softer on the Bottom" - Better choice of words is "Softer on small/stutter bumps." Even though your bottom may be thanking the sled
You get what I’m saying though. Just use different descriptions
I just ordered a new RAVE and I will admit, your videos pushed me to a Lynx. I have been preaching about bar risers for years - happy to have someone agree with me.
12:17 @turcotte16 nice run.
Colton Strum...Thanks for taking the time to share your suspension set ups. Your experience and sharing is greatly appreciated. Cheers!
Hi! I had the 2022 Lynx and rode it at the softest setting once received from the dealer cause I ride in nice trails in Quebec, had an XRS renegade this year Abe I bottomed our a few times so 2024 going back to the Rave, I’m 180lbs so from your perspective if I go back to my 2022 settings do you feel I’ll have the same riding feeling? Thanks in advance.
Great work!! You captured the spirit on the mountain in an exciting way!
Thank you!!!!
This is so good😂😂
Best content I've seen of Jackson this year!
Haha thanks!! What a blast! Such a wild event!
Awesome video !! Definitely the best content of the hill climbs!
@@alexandermacbeth6707 thank you!
More track spin propels you faster? Huh?????? I know you're an ambassador but come on...
I did a lot of work with camso for 3 years, they taught me a lot about tracks that made no sense to me but after testing it all it all made sense. Yea more track spin is more track speed and that propels you faster. We we did snowbike stuff a smaller paddle made for better hole shots. The tracks job is to move snow. It honestly took me a while to learn it all but yes at the end of it all the more track speed you have and more zip of the track as I call it the better in these matters. It puts less load on the engine. For trail this is awesome!
High speed bumps are the small wash board very high frequency bumps square edge. Jumps and large bumps are slow as in low speed.
Would you recommend going with the heavier spring on the rear if you're over 220 lb?
It might not hurt. It all depends how hard you ride. Next year I might spring up the center shock a bit. Then guys like us can play a little more with our high speed
That was going to be my next question? I think I will probably upgrade both rear springs because like you said that center shock takes a ton of abuse... And I'm the 290-pound guy trying to be Blair Morgan or Tucker hibbert for the younger generation😂
Rave rave ravay
I think you are trying to say "softer off the top." Not the bottom. The bottom is referred to as bottom out, or the end of the stroke. The top is referred to as top out, as in when the shocks extend all the way, the top of the stroke. Referred to this way in everything from auto racing, motocross, mountain bikes, etc. I would like to know how this is being acheived. The rear suspension has a rising rate design but did they change the arm geometry to increase progression? In the front most double a-arm designs are actually has a falling rate, meaning it gets softer near the bottom, opposite of what you would want. Is this being accomplished in the valving of the shocks? Progressive wound springs? Usually done with dual rate springs. Wish we could just be transparant about the reason the track was swapped to 1.25"only. This is very strange in 2023 when all competitors offer a 1.5 or 1.6" without issues.
Great point! I’ve always said the bottom or the beginning of the stroke. But I see where you are coming from
This sled makes no sense with a 1.25 track.
And how is that? It actually makes a lot of sense. The track has more zip and spin which in returns makes the sled take off faster and it has a higher acceleration and top speed. It actually pulled a little harder then the 1.5” I love it! But I am curious on your thoughts of why it doesn’t make sense to you.
@@Colt801 the sled is an uncoupled 137 that's supposed to have some off trail capability. An 1.25 track has no off trail capability and is made strictly for trail riding. The 1.5 track makes way more sense to me.
If you want a 1.25 track buy an mxz with a coupled rmotion x suspension and trail ride it.
@@KliqDon1983 you will not loose your off trail capabilities by dropping a 1/4” that is so small haha I personally had this sled in mid thigh to waist deep snow and I had a good time!! Now if you actually ride off trail a lot then this is not the machine for you, then you want the Xterrain that’s the machine for trail and more off trail.
@@Colt801 why did BRP switch and not even give another track option? I'm not the only former Lynx rider upset to not see a 1.5 track option
Ordered a 24 rave do you mind making a detailed video on adjusting suspension and setting it up the correct way, just wanna be able to use the sled to it’s potential. Thanks can’t wait!!!
Rovaniemi....great mascines as always, but the front end plastic/design is worst case ever!!!
How is the setup on the Lynx for a taller person; I’m 6’3” and have long legs. Am I going to feel comfortable on the 2024 Rave 3500?
I'm 6'2'' long legs and the 2024 Lynx was the best ergonomics I've seen. Just spent 5000km on a 23 Xterrain, for the first time on a sled I don't get cramped and the firm seat is perfect if you're 200 pounds+. Surprisingly the 2024 is even better
Yes you will feel right at home! Just don’t put a huge bar riser on it haha run a 4” riser and you will love it!
Put a 120 mm riser on it. 90mm is too short for someone your height
Do the models that are still in the previous Radian chassis get the new shocks as well?
The new calibration is for 2024 rave and Xterrain in North America
Does signature light come stock or option?
Hell yeah it does!!! I love them! I never thought about them but now I love them! You know it’s a Lynx coming!
@@Colt801 Ya, i just ordered one. 2024 Xterrain RE 850 with the big display.
@@christianouellette9995 I did the same!!
Good vid, How do you like the 24 vs 23 overall? Radian 2 just that much better?
I really like the new brakes and the new seat! I didn’t know I needed a new seat until I rode this one!
The new brakes look sweet, lights, seat, all nice refinements.
@@FZ583 yes! The new brakes are amazing and the brake lever is even better! It’s a lot of small changes that make a big difference if that make sense, makes the overall ride a lot smoother and easier! The new lever is so ergonomically correct and the seat makes a huge difference with not a lot of change! Some times little things go further then drastic change!
@@Colt801 Think the new seat will fit the Radian1? Thanks.
@@tomtraynor5384 yes it does
Worst front design ever on a Lynx!
ascetically or color? I liked the more red on the 23. wish they would make it a little slimmer looking bulkhead like the doo if that makes sense. square it up a bit
@@jacobshinabarger9426the lights.. someone is on crack if they think 4 weird square lights makes sense. I don’t care how good you can see that is fucking disgusting
Awesome machine. I currently run a 21 xrs 850 etec. But definitely going with the Lynx on my next sled. Looks like the north shore got more snow. Saying another 6+ on Wednesday. Should be good riding up there until trails close April 1st.
Yeah I seen they got some more snow! Way up north is one of my favorite places to ride!
Thank you for this video. I 100% agree with everything you have said.
Well I just snow checked one... It will be the first BRP snowmobile product I've owned... I currently have a 2023 xcr 850 it's a great machine have had a great year 2,500 mi on it this year in NW Wisconsin and we are in the middle of a snowstorm now supposed to get another 12in.. I have had no mechanical failures and it has not let me down I just don't feel like it's beefy enough for me.. yes I've spent lots of time on suspension setup there's only so much it can take... From what I'm seeing about the lynx It should be a good fit for me .. frame of reference I'm 280 lb and TRY to ride like Blair Morgan😂😅... I'm about to find out how it can hold up to the abuse... I can hardly wait 👍
Hell yeah! You’re going to love it! We didn’t get much snow out of this storm in brainerd MN unfortunately!
Just a quick question? Being that it has the ice ripper track does it come standard with tunnel protectors? Debating on ordering a 24 I like studs and what plan on putting studs in it wondering if I would have to buy tunnel protectors
Yes, it does come with the tunnel protectors
@@yannissklavenitis5182 thank you
Love my 22, but I think that new seat will make even better
I agree. have been stuck between buying a lynx or an assault. have a bad hip and back and im only 30. sat on a lynx terrain and couldn't stand the feel. Polaris has the best ergo's but I just feel like they aren't reliable, always overheating especially the assault. Hoping the radian 2 feels better! Rotax have the best engines!
@Jacob Shinabarger I went to the skidoo/lynx show yesterday and I've sat on the new lynx and it feels very much the same as polaris ergos as and seat wise and that is a good thing. I know in this video he mentioned that the seat isn't taller but it definitely felt taller. Suspension feels even better I think I might trade up
@@jacobshinabarger9426 Coming from 3 Assaults: Doo it. Suspension plushness is superior and the 2023 seat actually now feels good. I'll look at seeing if a new seat can be fitted to my Radian1.
I never knew I needed a new seat to be honest until I started spending time on the new seat and then I noticed how much I would move forward on the old seat and I fell in love with the new seat
@@fxnytroxtxFPP Thanks for the advice! i was actually wondering that because they made it look flatter rather than slanted forward. I don't like how the Matryx makes my feet feel back all the time. mostly i like em back but like to stretch them forward once in a while. Colton has got me leaning more and more towards lynx. plus, can't beat rotax druability. always hear the assaults get warm
A 4 stroke 137" or shorter lynx would get me into the dealership. 146 xterrain is just to much track for my riding.
I know you've stated multiple times its your opinion on bar riser height, but majority of the young punk kids aren't riding a $16-$18K snowmobile where running high bar risers isn't really necessary, most kids I see are riding old school machines where taller risers are probably more preferred lol
Even back in 99 pros did not run then. But it’s what ever some one wants
