WHAT WOULD JESUS UNDO: Spiritual Indifference | Jon Rhoades
Excellent sermon!
Thank you Pastor. Very clear message. Is it now? No one knows the day or the hour but it has be getting closer. Lord draw my prodigals to you and surround them with Bible believing Christians who will speak the word of truth to my prodigals. May the messages be blessed by the Spirit and received with humility and repentance.
Wow! Really enjoyed all the insight from John & Dan. Pastors with a point of view. Love & prayers for FCC. Chris’s Mother Becky Gregg. We watch at 11 am Sundays on line from Ft. Myers, Fl
Gen Z is searching for something, hungry. What am opportune time for the Great Commission to intervene.
There is absolutely no excuse or reason to avoid the words "Resurrection," "Raised from the dead," or "Died and rose again." If there are people who don't understand what it means than EXPLAIN IT TO THEM!! If the speaking of the true Gospel turnes people away then we know that either it's not their time, or they're not chosen. For it is written in Matthew 22:14, "For many are called, but few are chosen." Romans 1:16 says, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel if Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also to the Greek." If the goal is to bring as many people into the Church as possible, then your not obeying the Bible. Show me where the Bible says anything along the lines of, "Bring as many people as you can to hear the gospel," or "Let the multitudes come, that they may hear the word preached." Want to be mind-blown? It doesn't say that at all in the Bible!!! Okay, you might ask me, "Than what does it say?" Glad you asked. Mark 16:15 says, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." Mark 1:15 says, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel." 1 Corinthians 1:23 says, "But we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness." Romans 11:14-15 says, "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: 'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things.'" 1 Corinthians 1:18 says, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Matthew 4:17 says, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." Luke 15:7 says, "I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance." Acts 3:19 says, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord." Mark 6:12 says, "So they [the twelve] went out and preached that people should repent." Luke 24:47 says, "That repentance and remission of sins dhould be preached in His name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." I could keep going but i think it's pretty clear: Jesus doesn't want us to bring people in by making sure we don't offend those who don't understand. We should be the ones being sent, not the unbelieving coming to us. We are messengers sent out to preach the gospel to the world. Jesus was focused on the salvation of souls, not wether or not they would listen to Him. His first teachings in His ministry was, "Repent and believe." He knew some (like the Pharisees) would reject His teachings. Did He change His message so as to not offend them? NO! He preached the truth unashamed, as we should as His messangers. Let's go out and let the world hear what the Lord Jesus Christ has done for us! Let us meet the lost where they are just like Jesus did as He traveled. May God give us the strength and boldness to speak the truth. May God use us to share the good news that sets people free from sin into the Grace of our God and Father! ❤️🙏🙌
I have recently moved to Paris Illinois. I am Soo blessed to be able to watch the service on here with my 6 month old. My family is going through a lot and being able to watch this really lifted my spirits. Thank you Dan and pastor Chris.
Thank you for your kind words and encouragement, Rachel. We are so glad we can provide this ministry for you. We will pass along your message to Chris and Dan ❤
RIDICULOUS!!! God doesn't need anyone to make people "comfortable" with the thought of who He is. He came so mankind would be "uncomfortable" with sin!!! He wants us to recognize our need for His gift of salvation. We don't have to alter the presentation of His Word. He clearly said "If I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men unto me." He is all-powerful and able to do what He said in His word.
We never disagreed with any of that.
Wow! You’re actually defending him? He doesn’t want to “offend.” The true gospel is offensive to Satan and his messengers & your justification of him is all any spirit filled person needs to know about you. God fearing believers know exactly what I’m talking about. Heresy & reeks of Joel Osteen. If you know, you know. Your dance around the truth is disgusting
That's not what we did.
What a great message
Your video has left me speechless. You have a true gift!

Like the response amd how you have phrased it now to others.
Interesting enough, Matthew was called out of tax collecting. He wasn't told to collect taxes in a different way. The centurion described in detail how he wasn't worthy of Christ's help BECAUSE he was a man of govt. When Christ said there would be many surprises at the future table of repentance, and yes, He came to heal and show His powers to all, the Centurion again went into detail how he wasn't worthy. Because he was a man of govt. The Bible is stuffed with scripture calling Christians out of Satan's kingdoms. Christians are to help in charity, not govt. How the world would change. The mystery of the gospel.
ONE OF THE BEST SONGS FROM SWITCH
Just to clarify the question. Being religious means to believe and follow supernatural. Being spiritual is an act. Being in touch with the supernatural. Neither is negative, it just what appeals to you more. We are all Gods children but everyone is not the same. Some people have a natural ability to speak in tongues, some people have the desire to know every passage in the Bible. One is spiritual. One is religious. You can be both. And some gravitate more towards the other. So when asked, are you more spiritual or religious, it’s ok to be religious. Stand on it.
I really liked your point about when reading a digital bible you'd tend to switch between translations and do in-depth research on every little thing because that's exactly what I do 😅 I just got a physical bible for reading without distraction -- for times when I just want to read and trust in the understanding God has given / will give me
Amen 🙏
Loved your answer that both are appropriate… watched this on my phone! The part I miss most using the phone is the commentary that I have with my particular bible.
❤ Amen!
Thank you, Chris, for today's message!

Thank you, Chris, for sharing this Truth Tuesday topic. It is always encouraging to hear others who enjoy what they do and strive to do their best and be better.
You ever read the scripture where god orders the Israelites to bash babies skulls on rocks? Pretty gripping read tbh. Or the one where he kills THE ENTIRE PLANET that ones wild.

YES HALLELUJAH

Amen my brother
That honestly makes perfect sense. Because trying to gain other people's approval is never really going to work out. I'm not really incredibly worried about other people's approval. I pray every single day asking God to be with me and guide me.
He's doing that very thing he's condemning
He’s instructing
Hi David, we are unsure of the context you are speaking of. Who doing and what are they condemning?
Say it again for me and us, too.
Amen
During today’s offering meditation, our Elder misspoke about the church offering funding Planned Parenthood. First Christian Church does not support planned parenthood with financial giving. The elder meant to say, “Crisis Pregnancy Center.” Your giving helps support them with financial gift on a regular basis. We apologize if this caused any misunderstanding.
Jesus birthday Jesus he is the king

Best thoughts of the session- Expressing hope even when there is anguish and pain! Come to God instead of running from him!
