I watched filler episodes as a kid and I still do now. I've watched Naruto over 14 times (on my way to 15), 5 of those with fillers, Ovas and movies. 🗿

for all the infamous filler naruto have you have to give it credit, almost the whole part 1 until the naruto vs sasuake fight is an ongoing canon with no puses and thats the reason why is full of filler, well at least you can watch 138 chapters and then skip everything until shippude, now the filler shippudin have, unexcusable, the manga already ended two years before and the anime got a pause in the middle of the final fight to show filler

Some episodes like Kakashi's face reveal and the Ramen can be pretty damn funny, I wouldn't mind keeping them as head-canon.

It's really funny. When I was a kid, I stopped watching whenever filler came on. I didn't even know what filler was, I just knew by instinct it was filler because of how terrible it was. Though after Sasuke retrieval I DID put it on in the background when it aired on Saturday. Other than that, I stuck to weekday re-runs of old arcs.

I remember always watching one where the team has to escort a guy doing a run to deliver an orb and get attacked by an electric dude and was always so boring to me. It was usually my drop off point until I learned I could just skip it.

Naruto was the first show I watched knowing it was anime. So I didn't know about the filler problems shounen had. I watched all Naruto filler until I caught up to the anime, which was around the time the chunin exam in Suna flashback arc happened. I have... vivid memories of that arc. It wasn't even that bad, but it interrupted the war arc. Which made it worse.

I was a stupid kid too, and watched all of these. With 1 exception: that fucking Konohamoru interview episode! Even dumb little kid me knew that was a waste of time lmao

And some people prefer these over Boruto's fillers that actually are useful to the story

"Menma Memory Search Mission" was a major tearjerker

I'm glad i read the manga while watching the anime so i skipped most of the filler. In Naruto i stop after the fight at the valley of the end and skip to when jiraiya takes Naruto to train and then start Shippuden. I remember seeing some Shippuden fillers like the crystal girl ark but i also skipped most, specially after that one filler of naruto getting his ass kicked by a bird.

I've watched all Naruto filler numerous times. I didn't hate them at all. I thought they were fun and built more around the world and supporting cast.

Once you get to the 'Filler Hell', I actually don't think the filler is all that bad. It sucks if you watch it all beginning to end, but if you selectively watch it like they're short films or smth they're fun. Not meant to be taken super seriously, not always good, but fun.

Naruto and Naruto Shippuuden fillers all played up Naruto's goofiness without realizing what made it work in the main series.

Hidden Star Village, Kaima Capture Mission, the Menma arc, a lot of this are preety good, also on Kaima Capture Mission we see the kid Sasuke with what looks to be his shipuden outfit, or part of it, a good tease of what they where working on.

I mean, filler episodes are a mixed bag. Some, especially the one-shots, are hilarious.

I admit, not all the filler in og Naruto was bad, there were some funny, some decent, some even cool arcs in it, but yeah, there's a lot of really annoying and boring arcs too, it was very much a mixed bag.
