Hi, come to think of it when I do hit bigger bumps with the hitch in I do hear a sound, but I don’t know if that’s the hitch moving around the receiver or if that’s what you’re talking about. I only hear it when I have the hitch in there so I’m thinking that’s what it is.

Mine wont come out of park even after checking everything
@@tru_qs I’ve seen other people have the same thing. One thing could be the gear selector thing in the wrong position. Other wise I’m not completely sure but if you look on forums and I believe in these comments some people have the same issue!
@@themarkz1 It probably is, but how do I make sure the gear selector is positioned right, my check engine light also went away.
So unfortunately to check is by opening it back up. When changing the valve body on the pass side of the car, there’s a grey thing that pulls out and in that should line up and go into a slot on the tranny. It’s kind of hard to explain lol
I didn’t have that happen to me so I don’t want to give you the wrong information, but, I know that is how the select thing works and has to be in the slot. I almost put mine together before double checking and the grey thing wasn’t in the slot so I had to get it in there

yo bro how much was the new valve body from the junk yard ?? Im having the same issue with q50
@@shsk8880 I bought the used valve body off of someone I know for $100. I’m not honestly sure how much junk yards charge.
I see a lot of people asking about reprogramming the TCM when it is installed- the answer is No. I just replaced mine in my 2016 Q50 with the 3.0t. I bought a new TCM/valve body from Infinity for $2200. The reason I didn't buy a refurbished one off EBay or Amazon was because they all said the country of manufacture is China. Also, if you look at the sellers reviews, most were full of complaints from unhappy people. I did the work myself pretty much how the guy in this video did it. I bought a bunch of cheap hand tools from Harbor Freight and then rented a jack and jack stands from ACE. But here's the thing, ACE charges a daily rental fee, but if you rent on a Friday and return on Monday, it is only a one day rental charge which is good. It took me all weekend to do it because I followed each step precisely that I got off a Q50 forum. I filled mine a little differently. On the passenger side of the transmission is a filler hole that is capped off. It is where the dipstick would go on most cars. So I filled it through there and took off that little plug on the pan and waited for fluid to drip out of there when it was full. I put the plugs back in and started the car for a minute and shut it off. I then checked and added more fluid the same way. But here is the thing, even though it doesn't need to be programmed, it still has to go through a learning curve. It shifts all funky until it is driven awhile. I had to slowly accelerate and decelerate until the shifting got itself figured out. After about a day it was like a new transmission
@@TrinityParaziader thanks for the information and letting other people know!
@@themarkz1 Sure. No problem. I got a lot of my information off Q50 forums. So I had a code for P0720 and so I changed the speed sensor. That took me a long time because I had to pull the exhaust and the back of the transmission to change it. It was 115° outside all weekend (I live in Nevada). After all that it didn’t fix it. I was so bummed. I joined some Q50 forums and saw how many people had that same problem and they replaced their TCM. One guy uploaded the factory Infinity transmission manual. So I printed that to learn how to replace the valve body. So that was cool to have. But it takes me way longer than most people because I follow each step to a tee. But I think anyone can do it themselves. There is no reason to pay a dealer to do it.
@@TrinityParaziader Yeah I definitely agree I had to do mine twice since the reman in the video didn’t work but I swapped in the used one and it worked. I did it with 2 jack stands in my driveway. Wasn’t too fun, but definitely through some determination possible! Dealerships definitely is too expensive. Doing it yourself is part of the experience too lol!
@@TrinityParaziader @TrinityParaziador glad to hear you didn't have to reprogram, when you purchased did you have to provide infiniti with your VIN? I heard they may program it for you with that when you do, but no sure how true that is Also how many miles is your 3.0 and how much was the rental in total? I have 2 Jack stands but not sure if I needed 4
@@l3gacy430 Okay yes I did have to give them my VIN to buy it from Infinity but they had it in stock. I know that no one programmed it because everything was sealed as tight as a drum. The parts guy went to the back and pulled it off the shelf and handed it to me. Its wrapped in cloth, and sealed inside two bags and then packed into a box. So the jack and jackstand rental was $75 a day. But here’s the thing, if you rent them on a Friday and return them on Monday it is only a one day rental. That’s the way to go. My car has 47,800 miles on it. So that seems early for the TCM to go out but the way I see it, the car is paid for. Its 8 years old and that’s the only thing that has gone wrong. It’s cheaper than a monthly car payment so that makes it easier for me to justify spending that kind of money to fix it
So ur saying to buy one from a junkyard that’s programmed, the ones that are rebuilt on eBay have to be programmed??
Yes, from my experience, the rein Irbid ones on eBay needs to be programmed. I bought mine already used off of another random G37 at a junkyard with the same transmission as mine. And after that it worked for me without any programming!
@@themarkz1 thanks for the info , my car is a q70 can’t find them in junkyard I wonder what other ones will work it’s a 7 speed transmission

What about the light hook up?
I never ended up getting the light hook up on it. There’s some sort of module I think for LEDs, but I never got to do it.
There are videos out there, though explaining it
Lights are fairly easy. You need the powered unit. I added a fuse tap to the luggage fuse box for 12v switched power and ran it to the left tail light compartment. On the unit you connect the power to your 12v, as well as the brown marker lights (technically this should be controlled by your headlights but I just left them always on). Ground goes to a vehicle ground, as well as your red brake wire. We don’t have a separate brake light, turn signals and brake are the same. Yellow wire goes to your left brake light. Mine was an orangish pinkish wire. Green wire goes to your right brake light, same color. You could run the trailer plug down to your hitch, I just leave mine coiled up inside the compartment until I need it, and gently close the tailgate. It doesn’t seem to pinch the wire.
@babate1337 thank you for the explanation!
Thanks for posting the video.. helped out a lot.
How much fluid im I supposed to put
I looked on the Internet and found how much I was supposed to put in. The trick I learned which in the video I said, I didn’t understand, is that the car has to be level and you have to pump it with fluid and then run it to warm shifts to the gears, and then pump it more until once you take the pump out you’ll see the slight stream. If it’s flowing out a lot , then it might be too much, and if a bunch of bubbles, it might not be enough. A small stream should be enough, but I would look online and there are some great UA-cam videos on how to do exactly.

you had me until you said you didn't understand the transmission fluid fill process then developed you're own method which probably added too much the fill hole is a self limiting fill hole/internal dipstick, it extends to just the right height inside the trans when level that the correct amount of fluid stays in an excess comes out, assuming you haven't somehow excessively drained the trans, the running of the vehicle for a moment then refilling is to ensure fluid has made it into every nook and cranny insuring the self limiting fill hole works as intended
