Kap der Angst ist ein US-amerikanischer Psychothriller aus dem Jahr 1991.
Der Film entstand nach dem Roman The Executioners von John D. MacDonald. Erstmals wurde die Geschichte 1962 von J. Lee Thompson unter dem Originaltitel "Cape Fear" verfilmt, auf Deutsch lief er unter dem Titel Ein Köder für die Bestie. Auch die Neuverfilmung trägt den Originaltitel "Cape Fear".
Thompson engagierte für ein Hitchcock-ähnliches Gefühl bei "Ein Köder für die Bestie" auch den Hitchcockkomponisten Bernard Herrmann. Seine dissonante Filmmusik trug nach Meinung der Kritiker zum Erfolg des Filmes bei.
Die Musik wurde teilweise auch bei der Neuverfilmung verwendet.

Cape Fear is an american psychological thriller from 1991.
The film was made according to the Roman "The Executioners" by John D. Macdonald. For the first time, the story was filmed in 1962 by J. Lee Thompson under the original title "Cape Fear", in German he ran "A bait for the beast" under the title. The remake also bears the original title "Cape Fear".
Thompson also hired the composer Bernard Herrmann for a Hitchcock-like feeling at "A bait for the beast". According to the critics, his dissonant film music contributed to the success of the film.
The music was also used in part in the remake.
