Scene From Annie Featuring Drake the Butler and Daddy Warbucks

I didn’t perform this scene as it was scripted. The directions read: “does a bell hop and yells ‘yahoo’” Much as I tried, I couldn’t execute the bell hop (jumping up in the air and clicking your heels). I told the director, “I’m going to end up in traction if I keep trying this. Let me try something different. I’ve got an idea.”

Misalliance by George Bernard Shaw

From 2005 at the Carmel Indoor Forest Theater: This is a clip from a scene in the first act. The "Carmel Pine Cone" seemed to enjoy my performance (I think). “Shugart makes Bunny [Bentley Summerhays] a hilariously perverse and undisciplined, childlike man who throws tantrums whenever he is crossed. He makes one grateful that his speeches are short.”

The Pollstar Concert Industry Consortium 2008

This is the intro to a documentary that never materialized. Gary Smith, CEO/President of Pollstar asked me to come to the auditorium and bring all of my camera equipment. He wouldn’t tell me why or what exactly I should do. All he said was “Just roll the camera.” So I started shooting, unaware that this was an improvised scene. I didn’t get it until the punch line at the very end.
Peter & Gordon, 2008

From the 2008 19th Annual Pollstar Concert Industry Awards at the Nokia Theater in LA. I wrote the introduction copy which Dick Smothers proceeds to butcher. But I forgive him he's a show-biz veteran that doesn't have to apologize for anything. Peter and Gordon's performance was a bit ragged and Gordon was clearly ailing. (He would pass away 18 months later.)

I always loved that Cipollina's spanish guitar touch, great!!
You're even bobbing your head side to side like Paul.
And my vocal range is nearly identical.
Whoa
Very good.
test comment
I regret that I have but one like for this video.
Brilliant pairing
“Calvary”, the spectacular song by QMS with Clint Eastwood playing my favorite character of his; is giving me…palpitations. Superb song and acting; goes together so well!
Prunes! Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!
What a MAGNIFICENT brew, mixing D & C off their best LP w Sergio Leone's most classic western!!!! Five stars!!!
Wow imagine this on the real film
They should have been on all spaghetti westerns
Incredible - it just fits perfectly! To me, QMS were not the typical hippie band but more into an "Old West" kind of thing, especially Cipollina who also happened to be an expert on firearms (he actually had an impressive gun collection). It might have been interesting if they really had done a soundtrack for one of those movies....
Good music good fun. Thank you.
That was fun. Thank you.
Must listen on headphones
If they had continued the style of the first two albums they would be legends
Absolutely agree! It was the return of Dino Valenti from his jail term that sent Quicksilver to its' creative demise and disappearance. The group needed some good original material but Valenti just didn't have it.
@@fredrickurbanelli4318 Dino Valenti - Greatest Male Voice EVER **🎤**
I agree , one more album of original band would of been enough .
Agree, and a great manager plus touring. Had to tour in those days to be seen, noticed.
@@fredrickurbanelli4318 I remember a few years back that the Stones wanted QMS to open for them but Dino with his ego thought they shouldn't be an opener ha ha and squashed the deal . This was talked about on Quicksilver website around 2000 . A very bad decision .
Thanks for this! A natural pairing of Clint, Lee Van Cleef & co and Quicksilver -- almost out-Morricone's Morricone! My favorite QMS record.
Goes together better than Dark Side and Wizard of Oz.
Thanks for all the positive comments. I continue to get them, and it makes my day. Believe it or not, I got the original idea back in high school when I first listened to the QMS album. The song immediately made me think of a spaghetti western. I was always inspired and influenced by Stanley Kubrick, who was the master of combining music with film images.
Dude, this is way cool.
Great pairing thx
Nice job!
Well done.
QSMS Cippolina and the rest of this Group best ever Physcodelic Rock Band easiy best SF band of the era..1st 2 x Albums Immortal....Happy Trails can't be beaten...Think these guys started the whole Guitar Explosion...Hendrix Clapton Townsend...followed Cippolina led...
2 great tastes that taste great together! well done!
Good Lord! That's great Chris!
Thats really great Chris. Fantastic job and production. You “NAILED” it!!! Thanks for all of your great work and commitment! We all appreciate your efforts.
Excellent! Quicksilver, the unsung heroes of the SF music scene. Gary Duncan's and Cipollina's majestic guitar playing fit so well here, but goes beyond mere gunslinging. :)
My fav sf band
@@robertkelly6282 definitely. MINE TOO !! and I'm from LA !! (🎸🎤🎸)
Yes, Double Threat on guitars!
Wow. That really works extraordinarily well together
It's too bad Quicksilver didn't do something with Ennio Morricone tunes like they did with the Bo Diddley material on Happy Trails.
One of the many reasons that John Cippolina was the best psychedelic guitarist
Calvary, my late buddy Gary Duncan's masterpiece, and who played most the solos on it. With plenty credit to John C. too.
Duncan!
@@tomp.6239 so cool that you knew Gary! Just discovering their music besides Fresh Air. Outstanding band and I think Gary was the secret ingredient. Have watched many vids and love his playing and his voice too; made you sit up and take notice 😅
Excellent
That’s awesome!!!!
Wow dude
This has brought together two of my favourite things superbly. I was looking for some QMS not long after rewatching For a Few Dollars More again and found this. Coincidence? Maybe not......
Californio!
Is that anything like: "Cornholio?"
HOw did you get away with having Eastwood's film in there? I would think YT would have shut this down. I can't figure out how to manage that part of making music videos for entertainment only.
Yes! the video fits perfectly with Cipollina
Cipollina & Duncan
Nothing like mentioning the unique irrepressible Cipollina to get the Duncanites worked up. 😀
@@jg6698Gary Duncan was a snack 😋,,,Duncan Donuts 🍩 😂

Saw "Rowdy all growed up" when this movie was released in New Mexico. BadAss Clint.
Imagine old school analog sound system with (not too big), 52" screen? Superb...
El bueno, el feo y el malo es la película?
Hell yes. Clint and Lee. Great. Good job.
Tikka Sahib ~ WELL EXeQuted, i would Not substitute Any SoundTrack for The Original, eXCept This. I used to 'serVice' QUICKSILVER's Groupie Girls (not sensuously) in my Storage Room where i Lived in 1973 NorthBeach, SFrancisco ~ *~
Like the Steve Morse guitar licks!
