Experience a wild life in the great land with Living My Alaska. Living at the edge of the last frontier is about the naturally wild, stunningly beautiful, and shockingly deadly place that we call home. Alaska teaches us who we are as we hunt, we harvest, we homestead, and we adventure our way across this massive landscape. These are our stories. This is how we are Living My Alaska.

Thanks for the video.
You bet
a driveway like that. use a plow .
We have a plow as well. We prefer the blower.
My friends run the Red Eagle Lodge there in Chistochina. Richard and Judy Dennis.
Yes! We pass through that area sometimes. Gorgeous place! I will look them up next time we pass that way. Do you make it to that area often?
@livingmyalaska I helped them a few years back during the summer, but only four months. I met them in Loveland, Colorado, and they flew me up to help run the lodge for a summer. It was a great experience.
Did you go through Chistochina before reaching Glenn Allen?
You're not supposed to have fun on a Skandic .
Hah, that is funny. I am honestly amazed at how fun that sled is.
Where did you live southern co? We’re in Alamosa
We lived in New Mexico then we moved to Alaska. We visited Pagosa Springs often as we had friends there. I love Southern Co.!
Amazing video on instruction and such a fantastic tool to use, definitely must watch again!
Amazing van you have! Thanks for the tour
Awesome outing my friend , those roll up chimneys scare me though LOL. I know I'd ruin it trying to put it together LOL
@@tuckerandi oh! That roll up chimney made me curse! I had to delete half the edits on that part. Love the stove don’t love the chimney
My friend sent it back like that they would know to never ask again. Send it back in the same or better condition is my motto.
Awesome machine! I'd love to try one out, but it'd be very much overkill for me to own one, LOL! I'm in Southern Indiana and while we do get the occasional deep snow, most of the time it's just 6 inches or less. My old Ariens 824 does me just fine for my situation. Yeah, it's carbureted, but it always starts on the first pull. It has a corded electric start that works fine, but I seldom use it. Been thinking about adding LED lights to it as it just has the old sealed beam oval halogen lamp in the dash, but I'd just be doing it for kicks as I've never used it in the dark anyhow, lol. I figure the old light just makes me more visible to oncoming traffic when I'm turning around at the end of my driveway. If I do add the lights, I'll make them amber fog lights as they cut through blowing snow whereas the white light just reflects it back at ya.
It has been a fairly mild Winter here in Alaska too. I hope that changes. We need snow.
Ooooh! I admire your courage.

- I purchased this exact Kraken model last year, and it is, by far, what I'd call hands down the BEST on the market for snow blowers. There are only two things that could use improvement, especially at the price point of this Kraken model. First, it should include a factory-installed hour meter, and second, the wires and their plug-and-socket connectors (as shown at 3:17) should be better protected in a watertight harness. I've since added an aftermarket hour meter and fully encapsulated every wire and connector block with a product called NukeTape. When this tape is applied with the recommended overlap, it becomes completely waterproof and, if removing it is ever necessary, it can be removed quite easily without leaving any residue.
Hey thanks for that advice and the review.
New subscriber here! Love seeing the wildlife!
We hope you enjoy the content.
Wow! Those Northern Lights are amazing!!!😍
Happy New Year!🎊
Anything with food I’m all for!😍 I hear moose is delicious! I’ve never had any myself though.
Oh, that moose is fantastic. Happy to share with you and Nathan next time yall pass through.
@ Neither of us have ever been to Alaska but it’s on both of our bucket lists for sure!
Oh, you guys definitely need to visit. Caution: If you are like us then Alaska steals your heart and you never leave. Some arrive here and cannot wait to leave. Others arrive and, after one day, decide to sell everything and move to the Great Land. Many last one or two years then leave and swear they are never coming back. Those Winter months are brutal. Summer is for tourists. Winter is for Alaskans!
Hey how's it going are you still in dutch harbor I'm wondering what the weather is like right now
We are not in Dutch at the moment but will be back there soon! Weather is typical Dutch Harbor Winter. Windy, rainy, somewhere around the freezing mark. Light snow.
Whoa, the Aurora was INCREDIBLE!!!!😮
Yes, a remarkable experience.
Despite being “technically challenged”, you pulled it off! Bravo. Now you can drive the Alaskan country in comfort. Nothing like being warm on a chilly day. 😊 Thanks for the video.
LOL, technically challenged for sure. Always good to ask for help. It turned out well.
It's so funny you guys have those Polar "sleeping bags." I got Cait hooked on them a couple years ago and she loves it!
LOL, we came across a few of those Polar "Nap Sacks" at a store at the Alyeska Resort in Girdwood. I was instantly hooked! Perfect for van life.
@@livingmyalaska For sure. You've me thinking about getting one. I'm often too warm at night, it would be nice to have some venting!
You guys do such a nice job with your videos! Glad we found you. Keep up the good work. 😊
We hope you have a nice glass of wine and think of us while you bask in the sunshine of Italy.
Your a real chump…
Excellent
I want one lol makin me hungry
🤣 Love the thumbnail 😍

Did you read anything about Frank Glaser on any of the signs, cabins or journals?
It's the Nitrates, aka pink salt
Yes! Pink salt for curing meat.
You have some serious kitchen skills! Looks delicious.
Sausage party 2025!
Hah! Sausage party! What sort of lil smokes are you bringing?
@livingmyalaska looks like you guys had some fun processing!
Rice farmer , you from Arkansas ?
Originally from Southern Louisiana.
красиво. !!!
Looks like a fine machine...kinda like a Honda.
I had no idea! Well done. You bring real world experience to this rugged country. Thank you for all of your genuinely hard work presenting real life in Alaska.
LOL, it is not Italy but it is certainly our little corner of the world that we call Home. Come visit us, in the Summer time.
Wow! You've got a lot of guts. I can't imagine camping in conditions like that. You're a real inspiration!
What an amazing life you two have! I admire your courage. Can't wait to view the whole episode.
0:57 down pressure? Sweet
Love this machine.
I would say the Ariens Kraken is arguably the best machine out there (certainly one of them). High-end Yamahas and 2-stage Honda machines are also highly capable.
Which do you prefer?
All you need is a cab!
can you find out the distance from the ground to the handles ? thank you
-40 degrees Fahrenheit. Definitely heart attack weather.
You should invest in the ground tarp and interior floor liner for your AO!
That’s a great idea! I will have to get myself one of those.
Love this!
I want to live there
