Neil O’Donnell leads an unfortunate sequence
I was there. Iowa State got robbed. Replay would have won us the game.
These 15 minutes between picks was so bad. I’m so glad they shortened them . Makes it so much better to watch
GO TITANS GO!
1998 NFL Draft! 🏈 Round 1 1. 10:57 IND Peyton Manning, QB, Tennessee 2. 20:08 SD Ryan Leaf, QB, Washington State 3. 27:47 ARZ Andre Wadsworth, DE, Florida State 4. 33:26 OAK Charles Woodson, CB, Michigan 5. 47:48 CHI Curtis Enis, RB, Penn State 6. 53:09 STL Grant Winstrom, DE, Nebraska
Holding out after being drafted turned out to be a really, really bad idea for most players. Both Wadsworth and Enis did it and they quickly bombed out of the league. I know they both hurt their knees, but I figure skipping their first training camps didn't help with that. One good thing about today's football: slotted salaries for the draft.
The League will humble the best of players sooner or later.
Never for one moment did I think Polian was not going to go with Manning. Leaf was only a one year wonder. For those of you too young, if you want to know what I mean, I'll give you a recent example: Zach Wilson was also a one year wonder. Except that in his case, it wasn't even during a regular year. He did his playing against teams missing many key players due to Covid opt outs. Yet, Robert Saleh was completely fooled by it all. And the GM gave in to what his new coach wanted to help him succeed, and make the decision to hire him look good. The same thing happened in '98. And Randy Moss? I could not believe he lasted that long. I was flabbergasted. He was better than any receiver BY FAR. It wasn't even close. "A man against boys" absolutely described his superiority. His off the field issues were not that bad at all. Just minor juvenile issues. Everyone around around him said he was a good kid. And now just look at all the busts drafted ahead of him.
HD TV? Who needs HD? LOL. Yes kids, this is all we had.
Every once in a while I think of the 30 other teams (Texans first year was 2002) that could’ve drafted Brady and what they could’ve accomplished
Want to her the saddest story ever? My brother had tickets to this game with his then fiancee. I was at home and saw the Music City Miracle happen and called my brother right after it happened expecting to hear madness in the background. It was dead silent in the background. I was like, "Aren't you at the game?!?!?" He said, "No, she was sick so we didn't go." I was like OMG!!!! Well, at least he's still married to her lol.
he should have left her in the room!!! LOL
RIP AIR MCNAIR #9
Shot out Chad Pennington Knoxville Tennessee
Forgot all about Julian Peterson, underrated beast...ditto for John Abraham.
"RJ Soward admitted he focused a lot on music during his senior year, not so much on football." Jags: "Sounds good! Keep talking!" Man, being a fan of this team is rough...
Casey Hampton!
Why is the commissioner saying the NFL draft 2000, instead of saying the 2000 NFL draft. Just sounds and is weird.
Everything you could think of was (insert here) 2000 in the year 2000
GMs/Scouts are much better now than then. Still not a perfect science, but I think (for the most part) things/trades , etc. (look at the 1999 draft trades. Omg) are better figured out now. Again, of course there are mistakes made, but it’s definitely evened out more. They’re not drafting kickers in the 1st rd anymore.
I love watching these old drafts, but as a Bears fan, it's very painful.
everyone was so low-information
Ohio State Buckeyes broke the Miami Candy Canes and they never were the same after this game. It was one of those years where the Buckeyes were destined to win the national championship. Their defense was phenomenal, offense was decent and Craig Krenzel was a very good game manager.
makes you wonder if Pitt wouldve taken Chad Pennington (even though often injured) and then not have to draft Big Ben 4 years later..But Plaxico worked out..and had a overall solid career with rings.
Lavar Arrington and Chris Samuels 👍
God Detroit…. You should have took Moss
This was a great draft class. Sheesh
20:12 drafting Ryan leaf to the chargers was a disaster this was a bust
52:20 mid-fifties Bob Kraft still looking old af
Best kicker best punter
Jerry Sandusky omg...was he really the coach not Paterno
No, he was the DC.
so much talent in this draft. insane amount of good receivers and d. tackles
Its crazy to see the towers there... RIP to them.
Some guy named Tom Brady was picked
i cant believe the trash titans beat that uber talented team

2 tacos for 99 cents is extremely wild. Today it's $8 for for two tacos
3:22:42 Future MNF broadcaster Mike Tirico interviews future MNF broadcaster Jon Gruden!
I was lucky enough to be in in the stadium for the game. There were a few Miami fans there, but OSU fans outnumbered them greatly. Fans were standing for the entire game except for halftime.
That handgun commercial was WILD 😂😂😂

Ron Wolf was awesome. Vonnie Holliday was ok, but we moved up 10 places to get him, and did we pay dearly for it over the next decade with Moss causing a ton of problems. Wolf’s biggest mistake.
I hate this draft because everyone acts like the Cowboys did the worst thing by picking Greg Ellis over Randy Moss, I personally don’t feel that way! Greg Ellis played with the Cowboys for 10 years, he made multiple Pro bowls, won comeback player of the year and most importantly he helped guide and develop Hall of famer Demarcus Ware! Randy played 6 chaotic years in Minnesota and while he did play amazing at times, he also acted out amazingly all the time to the point that Minnesota needed to trade him to the Raiders. If I had to go back and redo this draft, I would pick Greg Ellis again no doubt about it!
When kitna is your QB...your screwed 🪛
Randy Moss, NFL Hall of Famer, respect 💪.
Hey man, I tell you what
LaDainian Tomlinson in the 2001 NFL's Draft is was and always will be one of the best if not the greatest picks by the Chargers in NFL's History
Richard Seymour was a splendid pick 1st Round 6th overall selection the University of Georgia by New England he's won 3 super bowl rings 2001 2003 and 2004 now he's a pro football hall of famer what a awesome football life and career he has had for sure
Andrea kramer is just straight up annoying
Miami fans always complain about the late flag on the PI. But go back to late in the 4th quarter, on the OSU 3rd & 6 play. First, Gamble is held by his jersey and then makes a great catch the refs erroneously called out of bounds. Miami never gets the ball back and the Buckeyes win in regulation.
back when majority of the trades in the first round were made in the weeks leading up to it doesn't make for as good of watching like the more unpredictable format we have today due to the CBA
I remember all the media saying that the Miami hurricanes were the best team ever.." faster than half the pro teams".. "Buckeyes have no chance"... LOl ... J.Tressel was KING back then..
Wow ... the quality sucks .. Bad shit..
Watching this, hearing Ditka say what he did always makes me spit my drink with laughter. You hate character issues yet the next draft you gave up an entire draft plus, two picks the following year for a player who ended up being a terrible pick, alot due to his inability to stay away from things he should have. Hpw ruck and ironic.
