    Has there ever been a time when so many leaders of the free world were nation destroying, Socialist a**holes? All of Western Europe save Poland and Hungary. Trudeau in Canada, Biden in the USA. Trump might fix a lot, but he can't fix the world by himself

    Geesh. The whining and entitlement of these men is a perfect snapshot of how sometimes dating in Evangelical circles is worse than among non-Christians. Are these men ACTUALLY being clear with these women that they think they are exclusive with? Also, are they expecting women "to settle" for HOWEVER they may come short to her expectations? Because I've seen what can happen and it doesn't end well.

    Thank you for getting this round table together and to the ladies for sharing their thoughts! It was interesting that they laughed at the idea of her father arranging a marriage and didn't tell parents about online dating because she didn't want the pressure, then were all fine with friends advising and setting them up with men. It makes me wonder if the parents really were less qualified to be involved or if singles avoiding parental advice is just a symptom of our culture's generational division. Another part that was saddening to me was hearing the women say that dating ha, "taught them what they want" while seeming unready to let God bring them someone who maybe wasn't a "good conversationalist." I did like what one woman shared about cultivating all relationships with all types of men and women and children. As a woman who married without having to endure the complications of the dating world I wish they knew that they didn't have to walk these relationship tight ropes.

    It was great getting to hear several perspectives of what it's like to date as a Christian man. But it was sad to hear the one man saying that he was turning down women (who were probably quality wife material) because of not feeling immediate attraction to a PHOTO! The complaints they had about women keeping their options open while they were dating were thought provoking. Why should a woman focus on one man when he hasn't given her any official loyalty? Without a covenant he is no different from all her other male friends. The fact that he is considering marrying her doesn't change that. Honestly, as someone who married without dating the entire dating culture is bizarre to me.

    • @shannalee80
      @shannalee80 2 місяці тому

      Exactly. This roundtable is a good snapshot of why dating is so terrible - even with Christian men. Most of the men are like these guys. The passivity and entitlement is bewildering. I do absolutely agree that the dating apps are overall horrific and I’m glad I quit them awhile ago.

    So fun. The wife puts her life on the line to give the guy a kid, and he bitches "her body changed.". Later, he becomes the fat slob and SHE should just smile? Men are crap, no matter how one slices it. Sounds like it's ALLOT an American male thing.

    I would have agree 100%, if she had not left out the key ingredients. God is not preparing women just for a man but for a God fearing, Holly man. In fact God is preparing us to be wives or husbands. Not all women have wives qualities and not all men are meant to be husbands. If you're going to put God in the conversation get it tight. God does not promote Peter Pan' relationships.

    Wow. I like your wisdom. But am divorced. 26 year marriage. I was the serving spouse. We didn’t have much in common either. Fast forward. Compatibility is sooo important not having to be so opposite. Nothing in common. You can both love some is the same things and not be opposite. Trust me. It happened. and we still serve one another. Plus we have little struggles to compromise for leisure fun. We are retired. So that is a big deal.

    The link drawn to the Tower of Babel's fired brick technology is interesting, but it sounded a lot like John Greco was blaming the result of sin more on technology than on the human heart. AI systems, like bricks, are mechanisms, 'tools', useful for good or evil -- but yes, like the fruit of of the Tree of Knowledge, they burden us with greater responsibility, and can be seen as a path of 'expediency' or 'cheating' to bypass the more proper path of relationship, and in particular, the slower & more methodical relationship with God. Another Biblical analogy is that AI systems are tools of windfall productivity, not so different than the windfall of productivity the Rich Fool experienced in Jesus' parable by the same name. That analog beckons us to carefully consider what it is we are looking to accomplish and do with the resulting windfall of productivity. Are we to primarily enrich & spend on ourselves, or share to benefit & ease the burdens of all?

    Can you do a episode on the opposite side of this. The person that has a hard time with his spouses sexual past. I know the right answer to forgive how God would forgive us and not hold it against them. But the problem I have is images I don't want that pops in my head and hurts our relationship. Sometimes it can make my mood change quickly. I don't hold it against her but don't know how to handle what I'm going through.

    They are not taking authority over men, but rather teaching as women the word of God. Gods word is not restricted to only men Galatians 30:28-29.) The context 2000 years ago was women were seen and not heard. The word and God does not change but the times do.

    Yes... there is something innate in women that makes them incapable of leading... it requires muscle and the complex working of the masculine mind... therefore sharing power is also out of the question. The creator intended for women to be eternally subordinate. There's plenty of places where we see this principle including, greco-roman culture and thier household codes, coincidentally every other culture gets this right, and perhaps the muslim world excels in this area. In such cultures women are often found far from the periphery of roles that involve leading people. In the case of dating how can we trust women to be able to choose a good man, he could a conman or something worse which women would not be able to detect intuitively in the same way that men do. It's got nothing to do with superiority. Being eternally assigned a position of power similar to a good monarch does not make men superior. It just means we love women enough to protect them from the power. Men handle this kind of power better.

    As always, instead of addressing the specific question, Childers is dodging and equivocating. Why is it that conservative ideologues can't understand that their obsession to strip the humanity and civil rights away from marginalized people is hateful. There is no other way to look at it. So she and others like her would willingly legislate their hatred because of their misinterpretation and misrepresentation of sacred scripture. So, do her Christian beliefs make her unloving? Let me address this question directly. No Ms Childers, your UNCHRISTIAN beliefs do that.
