Combating algae in our home aquarium is not as hard if you pay attention. Please see the following video for a good explanation as to why we shouldn't use tap water for toping off: ua-cam.com/video/wjRu_tHdV9w/v-deo.htmlsi=em96q_4zS2NK1oZl #aquarium #aquascape #fishtank #fish #cichlidtank #freshwateraquarium #rowater #algae #tdsmeter #waterchange #tropicalfish #aquariumfish #homeaquarium #homea...

    How has this held up long term? I've been thinking of doing this to mine but am kind of concerned about structural integrity

    I wanna buy that tank for a male betta and a school of tetra or some is it still a good tank?

      I don't think they ever get old, they're great tanks. For a betta, you might want to modify the outlets flow if it's too strong, like a small sponge or something. One tank I modified by removing the baffle and just use a sponge filter, the other is completely stock. Awesome tanks!

  • @toneloke5145
    @toneloke5145 Місяць тому

    No, the water is down to the pump you can see it, mine did it but all you do is turn the pump down because the pumps pumping out faster than it can draw water in.

    Your water level at the back of the flex 57l is really bad the water level should be the same all over the tank

      @@toneloke5145 could be an optical illusion, water level is perfect all around, but thanks for the concern

      Goldfish preferably need 30-50 gallons at least, so you need a tank slightly larger There species similar to goldfish that are smaller if you need a smaller tank

    Just to share my experiences with Fluval Flex series... I had all 3 sizes of the Flex. The filtration system of the 123L is the most efficient, and the other 2 sizes weren't really that great, especially the 34L one. After trying modding and fiddling out many combinations of the filtering medias, i finally realised just by replacing the ceramics rings with white floss filter as replacement, and dumped the rings underneath the sump just below the sponge filter...results is day and night with crystal clear results. I even had goldfishes in that smallest tank and they were messy eaters, if you get what i mean... Btw all my fluval flexes were setup without any substrates at all, only driftwoods and with some tied on plants and some other decorations. Enjoyed my Flexes ever since, especially with the baffles that hides everything away, at the expenses of space...

      I believe I ordered them on Amazon, you can buy whatever plastic plant fits inside the bowl, can't be too big. The center "tower" I bought specifically for the Biorb model I have but you can also get creative and make or find something that works.

    • @TheHomeAquarium-xi5dl
      @TheHomeAquarium-xi5dl 8 місяців тому

      I bought 2 of those tanks, I understand is designed a certain way for a certain reason but you're free to do as you like. I removed the baffle because I wanted more room for fish to swim, didn't want fish fry getting lost in the back compartments and I really like sponge filters. I plan to do the same to the other tank eventually.
