@ I’ve been saying that since the first trailer. All the poor Japanese fans waited all this time for a Japanese AC game and half of them are not even represented by a main character of their ethnicity, yet alone all the male fans who wanted to play as the Japanese male character themselves for immersion. All Ubisoft had to do was add a third option and nobody would have gave 2 shits, but I guess it was too much to ask from a company polluted with the woke ideology

Clearly you haven't played all of the Assassin's Creed franchise. The problem is that whole Yasuke thing being a samurai was a lie propagated by Thomas Lockley. Yasuke was a retainer, a sword bearer for Nobunaga Oda from 1575 to 1582. He left Japan and was never seen again. Ubisoft had cottoned onto this lie and ran with it as well as some Marxists in Japan and other countries. I personally like the idea of Yasuke myself, so I'm not offended by that, but the truth is, he was not whom Thomas Lockley and Ubisoft said he was. Yasuke never participated in battles, he never fought anyone that we know of except in the battles he fought outside of Japan as a mercenary soldier for the Jesuits. Yasuke wasn't a slave either, he was a bodyguard to a Jesuit missionary visiting Japan and Nobunaga Oda was quite fascinated with him and liked him. Unfortunately, Yasuke was nothing more than a curiosity. His status as an important person among Oda's retinue was gone when Nobunaga died. Nothing much was said about Yasuke other than maybe a couple of journal entries written by some officials, only to remark on how different Yasuke was. The Japanese are not being petty by defending and respecting their own culture. You would certainly defend your own, say if you had one that was maintained to this day over thousands of years. Yasuke, has been portrayed in various media in Japan; the Nioh games, Samurai Warriors 5, the aforementioned anime, and a few movies, one of them being Sword of Alexander (Taitei no Ken). None mentioned inside of Japan that he was a samurai, most of the translations of Japanese media outside Japan did.

He got lucky by the UA-cam algorithm around 2020-2022. That's why you see his shit pop up on your homepage more than you're supposed to.
