You obviously jumped on the bandwagon to vilify MS, but CrowdStrike already KO'd Apple and Linux (Red Hat) devices a few months back so there is a major quality problem with the CrowdStrike. The real issue was the lack of staggered rollouts and the lack of any contingency planning for a domain wide outage like this from CrowdStrike, as they roll out time critical updates as threats are detected which as a SysOp can not be expect to do rollout tests every fifteen minutes (or less). I have been involved in disaster management, and there is no realistic way to bring back remote end users quickly unless they return to office and does not matter which OS and yes, I have had KO'd Apple devices that I had to take to Apple to get fixed because of failed updates. As to taking out Windows, welcome to the world of malware and why MS is moving to a trusted virtualised environments in Windows 11 but of course people hate MS because it requires new hardware. For end points like kiosks you should be using Windows embedded or now Windows IoT, which you can control updates and all enterprises should be using Intune and WSUS for updating their assets but WSUS only supports MS software and OEM provided drivers, The case and usage cases for Windows is totally different in many situations from Linux and Linux has had several severe major security concerns in recent months, of which some have been root level escalation. So feel free to bash MS but educate yourself, if the user does not use the tools given to them by MS and fail to validate third party software then you will have issues like this, and in the end despite the wide outages MS said only around 8m assets was affected, around 1% of Windows installs. It comes down to this, what was MS supposed to do here? They can't offer a bypass option as that would be quickly subverted by malware so the system Kernel did the correct thing; shutdown when it detected a fail condition. Maybe not the most elegant way but it does mean the system is in a secure condition. Even Linux allows limited Kernel-Mode modules that Torvald heavily monitors and restricts like MS does. I have worked with various *nix environments from SCO to modern day flavours of Linux, and it is a matter of choosing the tool for the job. Could have Linux done better here? Maybe, but if they are running anti-virus software like this then they are just as vulnerable to this kind of failure and lack of SysOp management tools makes deploying *nix rigs a nightmare for end users unlike data centre servers, and I have deployed thousands of Linux workstations in which I have had to write Bash scripts to do configuration changes remotely where as I can click a few things in Intune or Active Directory and do it easier and faster. This last point is what makes MS so dominant, and until Linux drops the smug attitudes and start to offer tools that can give the same ease of use as MS and not forcing admins to remember archaic command line instructions or write Bash scripts, and time is money especially if you are supporting several thousand end users, then it will never gain traction. Period.

i do have a good listening room with a lot of space where i have my records cds, reels, dat cassettes, cassettes and minidics, the arcam i experienced was not what i expected but in a regular living room it can´t show it´s quality but not that high quality ,just average and i tried a lot of diferent speakers and a friend who had bought it ,after amaybe 12 years the amp. was not looking that good. i had bought a Sony integrated amplifier that for some reason only in the U.K and Portugal was sold like it is in other countries had not half of it´s quality but only to say that sony as lot´s of problems but this amp. the TA-F690ES is incredible good with two transformers and huge capaciteurs, and the arcam can´t come close of the Sony quality (i feel strange when i associate Sony to quality) but it´s true ,the cd player and the cassette and DAT deck might had stoped in a short +period of time but in amplifiers sony shows it´s quality (BRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!)again that feeling but in 1982 i also bought a Es amplifier, a pre-amp. some huge speaskers and a turntable , deck i had just bought my first Dragon and it sounded very good this expensive Sony System, but only the power amp. survived and the speakers ,all others went to hell on the back of the Dragon and some say it´s good, well in the first month i was happy with it, but the summer came and after it was already vibrating a lot as the plastic parts in the play system of this so well engeniered deck,melted givin`it a vibration sound ,to end they do warm up in colder countries. but here am i drifting ,the arcam delta or not wasn´t a good option by the price asked ,i opened it and what i saw inside wasn´t nothing that surprised me

Sounds like ground hum, maybe its having a ground loop through the power cable grounding pin? That could explain why it's gone once connected to a source. Oh and btw, those missing knobs are a huge penalty in terms of value... they look like your typical black cylindrical knobs, so you might be able to find some generic ones that fit on there.

It's got no remote and no DAC, and no knobs, and no power-cord. and it looks pretty rough. Maybe $60? Not a lot of profit there.
