I have to do this in my 2003 gmc yukon denali, has the bose system and all, i need to figure out how to hook it so it still have steering wheel controls. Also bro which size unit did you install? Is it a 7 or 6.2?

Just passing .. I get fan error on Thinkpad T410 all the time .. instead of replacing it I just blow hard into the fan intake .. clears up the issue every time. Also I have seen many posts on forums relating the same error and attributing it to a BIOS issue that affected many of these units, the update that claimed to fix the issue didn't really work, but as I say blowing into the intake (hard) really does work !!

thanks. This was very helpful. The only thing that threw me for a moment on reassembly was the lack of a connector into the socket next to the yellow blob. I have no fingerprint scanner.... wondered for a while where I had lost the ribbon! In the event I only had to put a single drop pf trumpet oil on the bearing hole - quiet as a mouse now. Took me almost an hour to do it all.

The additional harness isn't just to send a remote signal for amp to power. You do realize the Bose speakers are 1 ohm compared to 2 or 4 ohm standard non-Bose speakers? You need the adapter so you dont burn up the amp and speakers. Scratched up the customers dash and climate control when removing old unit as well. Very sloppy install on multiple levels. Wouldn't let you install anything on my vehicle even if you did it free.

So wiring this way will the truck won't have the capacitive feature? Meaning when you turn the truck off the tunes do not stay on till you open the door?

was not so complicated at my problem: As soon as fan is visible, scratch the tape between Fan and the leftsided metal grid. After having done I could remove the Fan cover upwards and pull the fan wheel from the axis. A drop of oil at the axis, and noise including "fan error" where gone. Didnt have to plug of any cable, I even left one RAM inside for having the possibility to check fan working by giving power cable and switching on by downwards shifted but(t) plugged keyboard :D Thanks a lot for the video (Y).

Man you are a life saver. I had that same problem with my 05 avalanche. I have same unit as you. Plugged it in nothing. Contacted factory and got no real help from the Chinese LMAO.
