Vivaldi's 'La Notte' Concerto RV 104 in G minor for Recorder, Bassoon and Continuo. I. Largo - Presto: Fantasmi - Largo II. Andante III. Presto IV. Largo V. Allegro The ideas for RV 104 came to Vivaldi in the form of vivid nightmares. He witnessed ghostly spirits and ghouls chasing after him in the night and these are depicted in the rising and falling triplet passages of the 'La Notte' concert...

Шедевр, великолепно!!!
Magnifique
Impressive, simply impressive. Worldclass.
❤
Soberbia versión para recorder . Bravo Kate Allsop ! 🌺Divino Heinichen , el maestro majestuoso en Dresden ! ❤
I love virtuosos and talented artists; what I don't like is having dozen of performing artists doing nothing. Why are there?
Hi there, this was performed as part of a larger concert, given by my Oxford University Alumni choir, Standish Consort. This concerto started the second half, and they began singing immediately after it finished. Saved the faff of moving twice!!
A delight: it also works without the puffed-out cheeks and crazy movements that we have come to expect from most recorder players. Kate plays truly beautifully, neither overstyled nor colorless.
Thank you, Hans - that means a lot! 🙂
It comes from the depth of my heart, full of admiration for your marvellous playing.
Didnt know Heinichen was writing so similar to Vivaldi. Must have been very popular around 1720
Beautiful and Kate Allsop, simply GREAT!
Beautiful work and exceptional skills by the recorder musician. On a side note, nothing amuses me more than watching women watching other women and sizing them up. It is akin to watching a bunch of cats with their tails twitching before they attack each other! Meow. It's better than going to the zoo!
Wow! Just wow! Flying fingers. Don’t think that my eyes could even read that quickly! Brava!!
Слышу прекрасную музыку.
Amazing😊
Sehr begeistert von der Blockflötenspielerin ❤und von dem gesamten Konzert, Ensemble la Notte.Gruss von Joachim Ehlers aus Schallstadt südlich von Freiburg
Wow. This piece sounds stunning! It would be great to listen to Vivaldi rv 441 from her.
We have recorded it a few years ago... It'll be posted soon we hope!
Might as well be a MIDI sequencer.
Superb ❤
I like places like this, too I want to see it in person
Wonderfull playing Kate. You are maturing into one of the very best.....
Brilliant!
Fabulous, Kate!
Это очень красиво

Bravo! Congratulations on your album! You all have played very well in this video--thanks for your hard work!
Why choose to play the flute edition when there's a recorder one ? As a recorder player, I'll never understand this ankward choice... a real pity. For example, this CD version is way more convincing in my opinion : ua-cam.com/video/KM689zzF6I4/v-deo.html
Well because all versions are actuallly written for flute. There is no recorder version (vivaldi is very specific about which instrument he wants and never specified recorder in any manuscript). So in that context it doesn't matter which version a recorder player chooses. Its a weird myth that has propagated that la notte concerto is for recorder. True, it often does sound better on recorder than flute, but we should be honest about what vivaldi specified and that's the traverso in all versions.
@@Rik77 You're not precise enough in your answer... 3 concertos were written for a small wood instrument and a piccolo traverso wasn't the obvious choice as positions are sometimes tricky compared to the sopranino recorder, so the latter was chosen as the reference for these 3 concertos, including 'Il Gardellino'. Musicologists think the are sometimes 2 versions for the same work, even 3. Vivaldi used to work the La Pietà hospital as a priest but also composer and music teacher. He may wrote a dozen concertos for one of his recorder virtuoso girls. 'La Pastorella' is quite an open one, as recorder or violin were possible. Flute is not the Italian equibalent for flauto. Flauto in the baroque era meant recorder or traverso, wood instruments and only during the last decaded of the baroque era, the word 'flute' was used to mean a 'metal flûte'. Around the year 2005, academicians found a note that on the original 443 concerto, it can be played with 'a quarta alta', so may be transcribed to fit an instrument with lower possibilities in terms of notes, so it's played with a soprano recorder instead of a sopranino one, and all orchestral parts are transcribed to the same key. This 'habit' to change keys is probably only for the recorder. Finally, 'flûte traversier' or 'traverso' versions exist only to fit the instrument possibilities, the recorder being the most agile baroque wind instrument !
Hi, thank you for your comment. We chose this version for its use of obligato bassoon line. This version fits our line up of instrumentalists and pur performance of this piece as a whole comes from a CD dedicated to Vivaldi's bassoon and recorder concertos. It seemed only fitting that we should finish with a joint piece!
Now, that's an excellent and peculiar performance!
Thank you! 😊
Please keep making more music! This is pure art! Sessions Live would be honored to have you perform there!
👏👏👏
Thank you!
Molto bravi
Thank you Very much!
