Exactly how I saw it. Only problem is the ascended Master and his mother that interfered with this end. (Canon) Dont know what I am talking about? Small hint. Missy tricked the Master to ascend to prevent her existance only he caused Missy to come to be by burning (ascending/terraforming) Gallifrey in the same moment it was frozen thus making himself and his mother (and the rest at the Gallifreyan high counsil) ascend into becoming the new guardians over time. Missy = the new Black guardian & his mother = the new White guardian aka Santa aka Romana aka ROse MArioN (A) aka Bad wolf.

Eve of the daleks was in my opinion a really good episode only problem was the love story seemed rushed.

An odd take but there is a peace and joy in this iteration that brings a random specific thought to mind...its when you realize you are your parents child that they did define you in a way. But also that you can be you and carry the best of them in you but also learn from their faults. 13 after all is a magical number ;-)😉🥰😂😍🤩

Okay so I uploaded this before realising that s13 is going to be all 1 story!? So the dude I kept pointing out (Vinder, played by Jacob Anderson) might act as a sort of 3rd companion? He's not been announced as an official "companion", which I'm glad about since Yaz, Graham and Ryan were already too much imo, but I assume that's the type of role Vinder will take on. I'm so excited! Yayyy!!!

Wait, so the argument is that Doctor Who is currently lackluster because he’s aiming it towards children? Children can handle a lot, a writer doesn’t have to dumb down a great show for them. I try to look for the good in all this, I really do, but the best stuff I can find is for a different showrunner to pick up on potential Chibnall didn’t. Look, I didn’t need a major story arc, I just needed compelling character arcs. I didn’t need The Timeless Child, I just needed The Doctor. I was never invested in any of the “Fam” because any of the development they get disappears and reappears seemingly at a whim, and I wasn’t invested in The Doctor because she’s very flawed-as you pointed out-but the show refuses to commit to painting her in a negative light. The Fam went from being unbelievably unsure about The Doctor in Spyfall because of their lack of knowledge about her to calling themselves her family despite knowing basically a few sentences more than they did before. Moffat crafted a real family for the Doctor with the Ponds. It was a slow build and it worked really well! And every member of the Pond family challenged the Doctor constantly when he started crossing a line, but the so-called Fam seems oblivious to 13 pulling some very morally questionable stuff. I was hoping Jack would call her out, in the same way he did 9 and 10, but he didn’t, so I just have this uncomfortable feeling of our supposed “hero” getting away with things her past incarnations would be raddled with guilt over. In Spyfall alone-which I’d consider one of Chibnall’s better Who episodes-the Doctor reveals that The Master is someone the Nazis were interested in systematically exterminating the entire race of with no thought to the level of cruelty that is, and wipes not one but two people’s memories in a way that was a huge, emotional, tragic thing that both 10 and 12 had explicit moral quandaries over, with Bill even going so far as convincing the Doctor not to wipe her mind because he finally recognized how horrible it was thanks to being forced to forget Clara. Hell, even the “morals” that Chibnall tries to “teach” have zero impact on the story or characters going forward. Oh yeah, let’s not forget that-the Doctor never shuts up, which wouldn’t be so bad if the things she said actually mattered! A few lines for her geeking out, sure, but she gives monologues every time she sees a new thing-literally ANYTHING-and it’s not like anyone asked, so they just stand around and barely react save for a few extremely generic questions that have nothing to do with any specific personalities-because they don’t have them-while she’s giving details that the audience doesn’t need to know because they have no impact on the characters or story. I couldn’t tell you a single personality trait of anyone in the Fam. Yaz tells graham in season 12 finale that he’s come a long way, but he’s never been scared or significantly worried or anything in any given situation. He just makes generic comments to move the plot forward. And I say this as someone who actually quite likes Bradley Walsh in the role. Ryan and Graham story about Ryan not accepting Graham had, you know, a bit of potential except that we have no understanding of why he doesn’t. Maybe Graham could have been struggling to accept Ryan’s dyspraxia as a legitimate disabilitiy? Though that would have meant Ryan’s dyspraxia had to be consistent, which it’s not. Even The Doctor’s social awkwardness is inconsistent, but don’t worry because when it’s an issue she will literally tell you straight-up that’s she’s socially awkward. Sorry for the rant 🤦🏼 I’m just frustrated because I really, really want to like it but every time there’s something promising it ceases to matter until Chibnall explicitly tells us about it. Why wasn’t the Doctor acting more cold and distant towards the fam all through season 12? Why wasn’t she stuck in her head and talking less? Maybe if she had been uncharacteristically quiet post Spyfall, the moment where she starts talking to herself again in The Matrix would be compelling. I just…I just want things to actually matter to the characters.
