It’s completely unnecessary to drill holes. There are far easier ways. Use a takahashi bracket or the one from zwo itself

When i did this there were no other bracket available for the Esprit. There are now but not then and this was quick and easy.

Hello congratulations for the job. I wanted to know what products you used to waterproof the dome. Thank you

The dome is waterproofed with fiberglass. The door seams are sealed with first a black rubber seal like you see in cars, and then second on the top of each side of the door is a flashing that is used on the sides of garage doors. If you look close at 1:33 in the video you might see them. When the door is closed the top flashing on each side hit each other and go up. Kind of like when you put your hand together with your fingers sticking up in the air.

@@brucehorrocks7880 Actually, yeah. How'd you manage the cable from telescope to computer and would love to see the view from the tower as well? If it's not too much to ask.

Hi I want to build one of these, but 5m diameter could I buy the design of you so I could make it here in the UK please?

I can tell you that i just built this as i went with no real plans. I built the little bending jig you see after watching a youtube video on how to bend tube steel members. I had a steel fabrication shop bend the angles that i used for the base and also for the top side where the dome curved steel members sit . I would give you plans for free but there really never were any plans made.

@@Stargreaves with the steel and the 1/4 inch plywood it weighed around 1000 lbs or so. Most of the dome roof is 1”x1” .

Hmm. There is an official Zwo adapter which fits all the esprit range of scopes.
