10:27 for the sickest shot of motovlogging in 2024.
1) Squidding IS fun, but making a "safety" video without full gear is pretty ironic. (Edit: ok nvm I just saw the "florida rider" shot and apparently a TShirt is the FloridaRaceSuit😭) 2) Sick '22 Midnight Matte Metallic Z900, huge fan🫡 3) As a 10+yr rider who ONLY had bikes for 4 of those years, longest daily commute was 82miles round trip, i've laid down my fair share of highway miles. This is all excellent advice. Most important is forsure the "predicting traffic" and "busy areas", absolutely CRUCIAL to understand traffic patterns/local drivers. 4) HOLY SHEESH BROTHER GETTING A BIRD ON CAMERA IS SICK!!! That sounded like incoming fire😭 in all my years ive only hit 2birds and NEVER on camera. That is superfrickinsick. I would forsure clip that, thats a VERY rare shot to capture. The sound was so good😭 Keep riding safe brotha!🫡🏍️✌️
Facts
if a dog or a car , pedestrian crosses your path at the turn do you brake ? are you aware of contact patch increasing while braking in a turn? guys look into trail braking, i use it all the time up and down canyons, yes i brake in a turn 40-60mph no issues, to say braking at 10-15mph is off limits is a joke
My man, you’re overthinking this. This is for new beginner riders to try and get into the habit of having good speed before a corner and in a corner. It’s good habit not using your brakes because anytime you’ve got the bike leaned over and you’re going at your brakes with oil, gravel or any other crap on the road you’ll be increasing your chances at sliding out especially if you’re going at your front brakes, especially if you’re not experienced, that’s just physics. I’ve been riding for 12 years on the road, daily. 6 or so years before that off road dirt biking, trails, tough enduro and logging roads. I brake in the corners too, ONLY because I know how my bike reacts and I know how bikes handle. You can do it, but either way you look at it, if you’re a brand new pickle on the road, it’s better practice to try and slow it down… not using your brakes in the corners will force you to go slower pre corners with ultimately having a safer ride. As you learn and get more experience and REALLY know how a bike handles, lose the front and rear a few times, recover and learn, then yes, start getting more technical. This isn’t a race track. This is all about safe street riding. Thanks for the comment ✌🏻
Port charlotte lol
Haha you know it 😆
@ you have balls riding on 41!
@@fishintime4715 Man there’s some crazies out there for sure
Yes I figured it’s just like cars There are people who speed and others who could but don’t Then the distracted or the imbecilic Then the ones who have small D syndrome who have to measure there success by how fast they can go I like certain rider aids active and others a nuisance I completely agree that a faster motorcycle is safer if one has self control to know when it’s ok to rip it Driving 2 or 3 x the speed limit in traffic is not good in any vehicle
@@MurffSurff You are 100% correct.
Start big or don’t start at all
So go out and ride as fast as you can on your first bike? Hmm 🤔
100%
My friend started on a busa now he’s one if not the best riders I know. Shoutout to garret
Sometimes it works out that way! Thanks for watching ✌🏻
Awesome video. Thanks
Glad you liked it!
back in the 70,s we rode over to Santa Cruz California as we were eating at the A&W a guy with a Kawasaki H2 rode by with flip flops shorts no gloves no helmet on our way back to Campbell California we saw him in a redwood tree about 15 feet up dead, paper said he borrowed it from his friend in San Jose California to go around the block and had never rode a motorcycle before
Ouch. That’s insane!
For this type of intersection it wouldn't make sense, but any intersection with a large median, it makes sense to pull DIRECTLY LEFT, and try to limit forward motion. This GREATLY opens up your line of sight. BEFORE PEOPLE ARGUE. This isn't new. This is a VERY WELL KNOWN and ESTABLISHED effect. 'The PARRALAX Effect'. You want to be as far from the corner of the car in the opposing turning lane as possible. And you want to move around the corner as much as possible for the greatest sightline. So as little forward as you can, and as far left as you can. Obviously you'll need to pull up to, and around, the median's curbing to do this. Which is sometimes very forward set, too much so. Thus creating an exception to this rule. Also, the STOP BAR only applies to YELLOW or RED lights. If you choose to sit behind the STOP BAR, then you are required to make an effort to STAY BEHIND the STOP BAR when a YELLOW or RED light is present. This means you MUST wait for another cycle before proceeding. And for ground sensor lights, this means you're going to have to run a red, which is much more dangerous. TL;DR Sit As far left, and as far back, without being behind the STOP BAR, as you can. Then enjoy safe travels once clear, regardless of light color, with your wonderful new line of sight.
The Parralax Effect also applies to Tailgating. The closer you are to the car in front, the less you can see. Your odds of successfully evading a road object are 0.X% if you are within 1 car length of the car in front of you.
“I don’t have an Errow”
Yes I suck at talking
Not even cars should go to the middle. Its dumb
Preach, on a bike or in a car. Nobody ever got in a wreck because there was too much space
Exactly!
honestly i believe this is how everyone should ride/drive everything. you always see people get stuck in the middle of intersections on red when they pulled forward to turn. also why put yourself sitting still in the middle of an intersection, you know where %40 of all accidents take place. just never seemed like a bright idea to me.
You know it's legal to turn left through the intersection if you are waiting in the middle of it? Nobody should ever be "stuck" in an intersection
I think that might be different state to state law.
@@jackdowns6122 I never said it was illegal? Just because you can doesn’t mean you should. I’m referencing to when people pull into the middle of an intersection and end up waiting all the way until the light changes red and they finally have a chance to turn. Which in my opinion is no different than running a red light. I have many busy intersections in my town where this happens almost every cycle. If you want to be a sitting duck in an intersection to get a half second ahead, by all means go ahead.
@@superpolite6846 That makes absolutely no sense. "to get a half second ahead." Idk about you, but the difference between making the light and having to wait at the red light is way longer than half a second.
@@top10cars2 okay sure let’s change it to the average red light cycle. which is 80 seconds. you’re going to put yourself in a more vulnerable position to save 80 seconds. like i said. go ahead.
I am 15 year old and learned riding by my own and can do these basic things without any tip😂
Nice work!
Don’t agree brake at the correct time for the speed and all throughout the turn use the increased contact patch for traction Then when the time is right ease off the brake as you roll through the turn and see the exit stand the motorcycle up and accelerate out That’s trail breaking if you let off the brake too soon it unloads the front end and reduces traction I would like to know who told you this You slow down in a turn and can move closer the the inside and speed up and move to the outside Maintenance throttle is once the correct speed is found for the turn maintain the speed until out of the turn When would you ever want to not be on the brake in the turn
@@MurffSurff I think you may be over complicating this. This isn’t track riding. This is basic road knowledge. I know what I know from 8 years of riding dirt bikes through everything imaginable, miles and miles of logging roads, tough enduro riding, trails, etc. on top of that 12 years of on road motorcycling experience. And that’s not a weekend ride here and there, that’s everyday riding. I’m saying all that to let you in on what my background is. If you think braking in a corner is good, I’d like to know where you get that from. Because it’s good general practice to not use your brakes in a corner to hopefully avoid a slip if there’s gravel, oil or anything else on the road. This channel is for new beginners, if you’re new, you should 100% stay away from using your brakes while leaning your bike. If you have the experience, sure, use them how you know fit. Heck I use my brakes, even in the corners sometimes, but I know how a bike reacts on and off the road. Thanks for the comment ✌🏻

Yes 100%

I’m glad you know ✌🏻
Is this not common knowledge? How do people not know this
I guess not everyone does based on how many people wipe out when grabbing their brakes in a corner 🤷🏻♂️ 😂
I just scheduled my motorcycle school, and I did not know this. Appreciate the tips and I’m definitely subscribing! 🙏🏾
Hey welcome to the channel! 👋🏻 Thanks for watching and supporting! Ride safe out there✌🏻
Sounds more like a skill issue
I get it, it is a skill issue but is still not good practice to use your brakes on a corner. This channel is directed to people that are new to motorcycles and or have been riding for a while and want to learn some tips. It’s good general practice to not use your brake in corners, unless, you’ve got experience or skill as you mentioned. Thanks for the comment ✌🏻
This is so relevant to me, lol. At my place, where there's only 150cc or lower bikes, the first thing people think about when I say I want a bigger one is I'm going to race or to speed. But I just want a bike with better torque and a tons of rider's aids. Nice setup. Your audio is so clean 👌. How is your phone hanging on, btw? lol, It looks off-center.
Thanks 🙏🏻 It just takes the right rider with enough brains to get on a bigger bike, safely, and just not go “all out” and you’d be good! I get it! Phone is mounted with a Quadlock mount. Sits so clean up there haha Plus it’s always charging wirelessly too which is a nice bonus. Thanks for watching ✌🏻

Loud pipes save lives
@@El_Rednecto97 I’ve got a video coming out about pipes. Agree with you 100% ✌🏻
Loud pipes ain’t enough in Florida still get run off the road, need to always have an escape plan, always check your back and keep it in gear when someone is rolling up. We got the deaf and blind driving around here 😂
Haha yeah we out riding with deaf, blind and old ones 😂
Until you move over so far that they think you are turning and then they proceed, not knowing that you are actually going straight.
@@greenwolf401 I see your point of view, makes sense. Either way, odds will still be better for you in a position for others seeing you. I’d rather have them see me and think I’m turning than not see me.
That exact scenerio killed one of my friends few years ago. The lady driving across didnt see him, and when she hit his bike it sent him into a business store front at 45 mph. Died instantly from him and the bike destroying the steel, concrete, and glass of the convenience store. The lady was distraught and regretted everything. She admitted to not seeing the biker because it was at night. Her driving attention will never be the same again.
Oh shoot. I’m sorry about your friend, that is absolutely tragic to even hear about. Thanks for sharing.
Yessir, even being in a car, truck or SUV, always good to keep an eye out for the people that may or may not be seeing you. Hell, even when you’re thinking “yeah there’s no way they’ll pull out in front of me, surely they see how close I am”, next thing you know, they’re doing exactly that 💀
Absolutely! I think too many people are too relaxed while driving, just not really aware of their surroundings. Both for cars and motorcycles!
Not filtering on that traffic would drive me nuts! 😊
Right?! Haha
Your audio setup and the way you speak makes me almost wonder if you're a popular UA-camr who has gone undercover and made a new channel. The cuts in the video are also really well done. If I close my eyes, it sounds like there are no cuts at all.
Haha! I appreciate it. I try and make these as best as I can.
thanks for the right side of the lane tip, im a new rider and highly hesitant

They don't have a harder time seeing you. You're behind a solid structure and you're not visible at all
Ok
Imagine looking at your rearview mirror while waiting at a traffic light and seeing a dude on a bike waving his hands occasionally pointing to your vehicle

Thanks for the comment, stay safe out there! ✌🏻
@@RiderInfusion you too, god bless.
I almost hit a guy tailgating on the left side of the left lane. My lane was going slower and looking back all I saw was a gap in traffic.
Dang!
When you are riding on the left side of the right land and the proper distance from the car in front of you ,that gives you 8 feet more reaction space. The same when you are riding in the country and you get the extra 8 ft.of space to miss the ,dog, cow, horse ,deer, etc. So as a rider of 50+ years if you ride the center line you will be much better off than. White line riding.
Appreciate the input!
When you are highway speed, you are going anywhere between 60 and 90 feet per second (88fps @60mph) depending on your speed and potentially more. So even at 30mph, you still doing 44fps. You can keep breaking it down from there. That isn’t even considering the angle or speed of the object, animal, vehicle or person. As for what said about 8 extra feet may be correct, that will only apply to stationary objects. You couldn’t safely react fast enough if something was to jump out in front of you to avoid it. Even with the few extra feet. They would have to see you and reacting before you do to even have the remotest of chances to avoid you and/or anything else. From a professional drivers standpoint, I agree with you 100%. From the reality standpoint, 8’ won’t matter if both are at all. But if you do as the guy in the video says, it gives you more time to react and them a better chance to see you sooner. After all, I can loose a full size pickup just behind the A post of my windshield and door. Imagine how long it takes for a bike, something dramatically smaller in the same spot. It isn’t necessarily a matter of drivers not paying attention or looking. Just the fact that the smaller the vehicle the longer it takes to clear blind spots or objects that may block range of vision (signs, trees, bushes, utility poles, etc).
Thanks for the comment, good thinking. So much goes into riding, we all just want to be able to ride another day in good health. Stay safe ✌🏻
2:45 I really don't like being this distance behind a cohort of traffic. This is like the perfect spot for a left turner to be "motorcycle blind" and think there's a break in traffic to punch it. If you stay in the cohort with the red truck, they're more likely to see you and even if they do go for it... you're already through.
I agree. I think your attention level needs to be “extra” heightened in those type of situations. Big enough gap and like you said, people lose sight of the motorcycle and make their turn. Good observation 👍🏻
Don’t day dream, focus on pretty much everything Always stay in gear ALWAYS BE READY TO ESCAPE AND EVADE
Yes, spot on!
Always wear a bike jacket have you seen what happens if you get into a accident without one!
Yes I know the risks on that
Dope video. Sure I’ll be an early subscriber.
Awesome thanks! ✌🏻
Hey man you've prob already gotten this questions but what camera equipment are you using to shoot your video?
I want to know as well.
I will be sure to get all that info added to my description. But I use a DJI action 4 with a DJI mic 2 for my audio. It’s nice cause it’s wireless audio and clean on the helmet. I also shoot at 30 fps and have a 32 ND filter on the cam to smooth over the clips. I also clean up the audio in post just a tad to get rid of the ambient noise and have more of a focus on the voice pick up. Thanks for commenting brother ✌🏻
