To the person who posted this video, I owe you a debt of gratitude. I've been trying to find a video recording of this song since I first heard the record nearly 40 years ago. This rendition is the closest to that original recording and I am very thankful to see Mr. Jarreau perform it especially since he is no longer with us.

World class band and his unique voice

What a legendary vocalist with a voice comprising several registers. AJ really enriched the world of music. It' s so sad he is no longer among us.

I've considered doing similar with a p bass. Place it in the bridge position and have a separate output with the pickup wired to a simple on-off toggle, no pots. Run that to my fuzz, the og split clean

The clean and colour switch sounds really articulated in the mids with the humbucker. Cliff Burton did a mod similar to his aria bass with a PJ Marx humbucker, with a bi-amp set up. Great video and sounds!

al jarreau was always a perfect singer,could sing anything he wanted & we could listen in awe as he went about his businees,, what an epic singer the only male jazz singer that had a chance of ewqualling him was mark murphy

It is with pleasure that I listen to Al JARREAU again and again. I always remember his last concert in Paris shortly before his death. Despite his illness that day he was there and gave everything. Rest in peace.

Definitely not a squier jazz bass body. Looks like a glarry. The top horn is too fat. Sounds good though.

Great pickups with a fantastic tone...they are technicaly humbuckers as one half of the coils is reverse wound & reversed polarity though more like a P bass pickup in a straight line...i bought a pair for my 75th Anniversary Jazz, they sent me 2 neck pickups one at 9.6K & the other was 7.4K so kept the 9.6K & returned the other neck one for the correct bridge pickup which is 9.6K ,someone made a mistake & overwound one of the neck pickups to the bridge value,so i've got a balanced pair...result... i really like them... fantastic punchy Fender tone with no noise at all...though i do overhaul my Fender bass's with better quality parts, rewire, screen properly & a mod or two....expensive but worth it for the tone & lack of noise no matter how the volume controls are set so you can get different tones out of a Jazz instead of having to max out both volumes to stop any noise when using live...wish i could afford more Apollo bridge Jazz pickups for my other Fender Jazz & Fender Jaguar PJ...nice matt finish & textured pickup cover's, better looking than the shiny plastic Fender pickup covers.... nicer looking, imo, with black mounting screws...a Fender Jazz pickup with no noise at all that sounds just like my Fender 60's pickups but quiter & a bit hotter..
