Nice to see you do a full video! I’ve grown up watching D & R all over the DMV. One of the first crane companies I was introduced to when you put up tower cranes on Rt. 1 at the Hyattsville Justice Center. Can’t wait to see more videos!

You guys use dolly’s for the boom swung to the rear of the crane for over the road?
I didn’t know USA had such weights restrictions that a LTM1500 is being teared from it’s uppercarriage. I would invest in lighter and compacter trucks then what they are driving to take more weights as cargo with them. Here in Holland we drive with the uppercarriage and the boom.
It varies state to state in the US. Mostly due to the differences in the ground underneath and costs to build stronger roads on softer ground. Also, in some places, the ballast trucks are limited to about 36t gross weight, so they can only carry 2 ballast blocks plus a small piece of jib.

Didnt know US roads were that weight/axle limited that you have to dissassemble the upper parts of the 1500...
Different states have different laws. Here in NYC we run our 1500,1450, and 1650 with the house and boom on, on the streets

Here in OK, it’s determined by weight per axle, that crane could have been roaded with dog house and boom with the 10 axles.
What was the reason to take off crane engine + cabine? In Europe they only remove boom.
This is exactly how every assembly/disassembly crane video should look like 🤩
Im guessing the 1500 is too heavy for local roads with the boom and rotator attached?

Correct me if I am wrong but A Liebherr 1100-5.2 is 100 Metric Tons which would equate to a little over 110 US Tons?
