First pass after learning. Posting this for future reference. I have a feeling I’m going to forget how to play it before band rehearsals.

My recorder adds that “hiss” and I can’t diagnose why. Enjoy.

Nice tone! Can you share the patch?
Cool sounding bass Jon, I just picked up HX stomp, and a lot of people on bass forums were referring to your tones presets. I could not find how to get some. I am loking for some nice tone to cut through the mix. I am using Fender Jazz bass to hx stomp to Radial J48 to PA and back to me as IEM. We dont have a good music engineer to EQ bass in mix. If you could suggest or point right video that would be awesome!
As always awesome!
how much and where ?
Where is this patch? Would you have a link?
Brilliant!
That could get pretty expensive quickly. Imagine his cost in beer 🍺
Do you put a capo or something on the first fret when setting the bridge action? (On bass?)
Great job. The Tube Sceamer is subtle, but certainly gives a bit of growl.
Awesome , Jon!!! 🤘🤘🤘
Ini Jagoan Gue Semoga di Beri kesehatan Dan semoga Ber islam Amin
You got that Sheehan tone . Sounds great brother.
Finally someone did a tutorial which shows the neck relief in close up. Thank you good sir
Cool, just found out about this amp. It DEFINITELY interests me
Jon allowed me to play this a couple years back. It was very cool
Damn it sounds like a glorious overdriven SVT ! I think it's better than Darkglass !! I wonder if the non Dugg Pinnick VT bass 1000 is the same as the DP signature 1000 head ??
What's billy sheehan's amp settings
No, NORD has designed the best leslie simulator with all the right parameters to play with. It is so good that I don't carry my heavy leslie to gigs anymore. I agree that it's no separate unit but build-in. Something I don't care because I play keyboards.
Haha
Nice work as always JW!!! 🤟😎
🇦🇷👏👏👏
Hi, bonjour bravo Jon !!! I like what you do, great rendition, I subscribed to your channel !!!! I'm a 71 years old french singer and I cover the greatest hits of my youth the 60' !!!! Sure you will like !!!!! Would you please be so kind and have a look at it !!! I dream to have 500 memberships till my 72th birthday !!!! Would you be so kind and help me to realize that ? Thanks a lot in advance, friendly greetings from France
Excellent!
Why didn't you set your helix to unity gain? So in this case you have set your volume to 12'oclock right? And why 83db?
It looks so easy for him 😅
Mr. Willis, which is/are the chip(s) Mr. Billy used in the 70s, as he mentioned in his Ultimate Drive EBS promo video? I think I have a favorite from those here, but was curious about what he did try on this pedal from his younger years. To be honest, the stock chip sounds fine, but since my pedal has the feature, would be nice to try it out. I haven't changed any stock settings yet, since it sounds great out of the box, and the compressor it has sounds quite good as well (though I generally use my own compressor pedals.) Sorry to bother you. And thanks so much for all the videos and support for Mr. Billy. 🎸
Gonna try it now Ty
Dang, I had forgotten all about this song.
It’s one of my favorites. Killer song.
Always loved this song....sounds great!
Fun tune
Try it with a Vacume Cleaner Hose, tape one end to a mic stand in front of the speaker, then start spinning the hose in your hand like a cowboy, sounds really good
MacGyver approves of your bass tech skills.
Use duct tape for the strap !!
@@jonwillis6464 I strap my axe with an army gun strap, the more soldiers' names it has on it, the better the tone ;)
@@Axe_WoundTV my strap is a length of 5.56 ammo belt. Real Tone !!
@@jonwillis6464 you can't buy class
This reminds me of back in the day when Led Zeppelin's first album came out...Although we had no idea what phase shift and chorus effects really were, we would simulate the phase shift and chorus effects by singing along with Plant while holding the album cover in front of our face moving it closer and then away quickly... Singing " ohhh baby baby baby" in a falsetto. It sounded just like the album.
Saw live...this man can do everything with his bass!
App does not exist anymore.
Very nice work!
he's got potential.. ..lol
Keep an Eye on that one!! could go somewhere
killer tone. Billy Sheehan-esque but not as bright or hollow
I'm also very interested in the material of the bridge plate and middle pup. very similar to Fender. Sounds great!
This bridge is from an early 80’s Fender Pbass. The brass saddles are late 70’s Mighty Mite saddles.
Are the first saddles original from Yamaha? what material are they made of?
Love the playing and the tone!! Great job 👍👍
Nice👍👍👍👍
Did my bass guitar frets a week ago, took a little elbow grease to leave them looking better than new. I used kitchen napkins to see how much dirt I removed, probably using clean rag would have been easier. Frine is definitely worth every penny
Yeah man ! Great stuff sounding killer !
Damn Jon! The groove, playing, the tone! The neck dive was so badass 🤣. Thanks for helping us Helix guys make the unit produce some great sound. Glad I discovered your channel!
Great Stuff Guys!!!! 🤟😎
Who sets their neck relief at a gig? Worked at over 500 live shows and never saw anyone setting their neck relief. However, handy tip and thanks for sharing. 👍
🕵🕵
Wish the bass was louder.
That's very low action. I don't know if that is practical. I have basses where I could go low like that with very little buzzing but it still does not sound as full and punchy as a slightly higher action.
True meaning of "it weights as much as a person". Sounds better than some leslie pedals.
That's why I designed an electronic motor control that uses zero-crossing electronic switches so they don't produce a 'relay-click' when switching between slow and fast rotation and I don't have to use big and heavy pedal switches. If you're interested I can give you the schematics of this zero-crossing switch.
