I ruined this track by removing the original bass part and recording myself playing to the track. 🤣

Do not own the rights to this music. Blah blah blah. I only have 1,000 subscribers, you can relax UA-cam. Hahahaha I’m not monetized.

I am aware that I have a very unusual “slap” technique.

I speed up the tempo of songs and practice until failure. Here’s a quick video from yesterday’s practice program.

First pass after learning. Posting this for future reference. I have a feeling I’m going to forget how to play it before band rehearsals.

v2.0…Put a 3 speed electric fan in front of your amp.
Thanks for this vid. I might be acquiring this pedal soon.
Love seeing the EB-3
@@WilliamJones-bg2on I’m taking my time getting used to the bass. No need to rush the process.
@ it’s 55 years old, it ain’t going anywhere now. It’s in it for the long haul.
@ it’s so easy to play and navigate, that it feels like I’m cheating or being lazy by playing it.
@@jonwillis6464I remember reading an interview with Jack Bruce after he got a 34” scale bass and tried to go back to his EB-0 and he said that he couldn’t because “it felt like a toy” in comparison.
@ yeah. It’s a whole different approach. The super skinny neck is what’s causing me to be apprehensive of my playing on it. I love it though. It will settle in soon enough.
With Paul Gilbert...a divine solo
Jon!!! That gives me some serious goosebumbs! Great!!!!
Turn up the heat in your home. 😏
This was close to the end for him. He wasn't in great shape at this point. It would've been even more epic in his prime.
No no,this was recording in 1993...at the Namm Show
Nah this is way cool! The bass on the song is just as integral somehow as Nick's guitar and voice. Boyd and co. went a bit bananas with the strings on the song, but on the other hand, it helps peg the song as a "baroque folk" tune I suppose. I was sitting there months ago playing Hazey Jane I for my mom and family on my Takamine 6-string. I'd finally come to grips with playing it more or less properly. It's not an easy song to master. Nor is Cello Song, at least the intro. is very hard. I found Three Hours in particular to be a tour de force, a very challenging song to master on guitar. Bass may be easier!
Billy Sheehan would also apporove.
jon- what have you added to the HX stomp patch to give that much fret grind
Beautifully done JW, nice playing on a lovely song, one of my favourites
It’s a beautiful song. I was able to perform it with the original drummer, Dave Mattacks, this past Saturday night.
@jonwillis6464 absolutely brilliant!!!! Dave is a lovely, softly spoken man who lets his playing do the talking.......
That a great relaxing Song! As always good job and Happy new year, Jon! 🤘🤘🤘
Thanks dude !!

Ahhhh…When bass lines were awesome….
Nice! Louis Johnson would be happy to hear this bass line alive and well. Nice slap, whatever the technique. It works.
@@cooly4831 thank you.
Is this the same tone that u used on ur Purplehazevideo? What preset is this? Man this is soooo awesome.
That tone is absolute killer. What preset is this? Can i get it on your Presetwebsite?
Amazing!😮
@@marcbaker8774 thanks dude. Just being a goofball.
Does it work the same for electric guitar, using the pick?
Rockin' it as always!
Jon I saw them in concert at the Omni in Atlanta, 1974. One of my favorites. Great job!

Hecks Yeahz Mang - smooth!

Cool! Sounds great on the up pick!
Love this guy
😂 E o Guitarrista estragando o solo do cara rsrs brincadeira...leve
These fingers haha 🤙🤟
good method. i usually use the music nomad way and that is to put the capo at the 1st fret and press at the 12th fret , measurement is being made under the 6th fret with an .008 (.20mm) feeler gauge.
This solo, and only this solo, always gives me goosebumps
Too many notes per second to give me goosebumps. I have a musical ear, but obviously not musical enough. To hear this and get goosebumps - respect! Oh - on the plus side for me - plenty other solos, from Gilmour, Neil Young etc, do give me goosebumps ; )
Billy the bass great.
This is the FBS? What settings do you use? I can’t seem to dial mine in
Yeh Billy, what can i say..... will you join our band? 🥵
The amp behind is a holy grail ! How do you like the pedal in comparison to the amp ?
It's something about a badass musician playing a broken in beater that sounds amazing.
Watched this so many times since it popped up randomly! Superb bassline and it works so well in the context. Nailed it too!
Idol❤
First, i wanted to say this was an incredible bass tone. I love whatcha did here! Smooth overdrive on a bass is beautiful! Im saving thos video for my records in case I need it. Second, a funny note, I was about to call cap on you when I saw the thumbnail because I looked at the bass and was like, "Boi, how you gonna say 'on a budget' when the bass itself is more than I make in a _leap_ year? 😂 There's only one model like it on the planet, and it's a whole labor day deal........as in 'It will take away the whole of your life's Labor in a day!' " But then you said that you were only using the P pickup, and I thought about something.........are we really only paying a premium for the other neck pickup and some extra? What are your thoughts? But forreal, great job on the tone. I'm looking for drive pedals, so I may consider this.
Great playing and tone as always JW!!! 🤟😎
I had never heard that song before, but that was great!
Great playing and sound
Killer man !
I want to be in that band.
Nicely done!
