And now, it's time for another haunted legend, this time... *THE LEGEND OF THE LYCAN BELTBUCKLE OF PETER STUMPP!* "One of the most infamous stories of werewolves is the tale of Peter Stumpp, better known as "The Werewolf of Bedburg". Peter Stumpp was once a devout Christian, until one day, he became obsessed with the power of black magic. According to the legend, Stumpp learned the secrets of black magic at the age of 12, and devoted his studies to the dark arts. In particular, he learned of the dark art of lycanthropy. Through years of learning from corrupt teachers, he eventually was given a beltbuckle laced with dark magic. "With this beltbuckle, I will be able to unleash unspeakable evil unto Bedburg! And those poor souls will never know it's me!" Once he placed the beltbuckle onto his sash, he transformed into the ferocious beast! He then went on a violent rampage, terrorizing everyone in the town. However, when sunrise was near, he would remove the beltbuckle and return to his normal state, but no one in the town knew it was him. For the next 25 years, he would continue his lust for bloodshed and carnage, until he was arrested. Many doubted that Stumpp, a devout Christian who fathered several children and worked as a wealthy farmer, would commit such horrific crimes. That was, until it was discovered that he was connected to the slayings, as they discovered the beltbuckle, the same one worn by the werewolf. In the end, after many days of trials, Stumpp finally confessed that he was the one responsible for everything. He later revealed that he had killed some of his own children in a rage of bloodlust. He was sentenced to death by beheading, and the beltbuckle was seized by priests who soaked it in holy water to rid it of the black magic, and it was never seen again... *_UNTIL NOW!_* Your quest is to find the Lycan Beltbuckle of Peter Stumpp, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thanks, Olmec... So, where is the beltbuckle? Olmec: The Lycan Beltbuckle of Peter Stumpp can be found... *_IN THE WELL..._* (SPOILER ALERT: After a long stretch of Ls, the Orange Iguanas are finally going to the temple after defeating the Green Monkeys in the Temple Games, with 1 and 1/2 pendants at their disposal. Now, can they retrieve the beltbuckle, or will the werewolf's curse lead them into three encounters with the Temple Guards? Let's find out! The Temple Guards are located in The Ledges (Gold Mask), The Chamber of the Sacred Markers (Blue Mask), and The Shrine of the Silver Monkey (Black Mask), while the other half-pendant is located in the Cathedral of Cerberus in the first dog's mouth. Contestant 1 (Judy) heads into the temple, and begins by going down into The Ledges, where she's grabbed by Gold Mask! She screams, not expecting to have her ankle grabbed by a Temple Guard, but she tosses the pendant to him, and she continues on, shaken, but no worse for wear. She opens the crawl tube and climbs into The Pit of Despair, where she gets on the giant axis and begins turning it, lifting the stone slab. She gets off and slaps the actuator, opening the door to the throne room. Now, with 2 minutes and 38 seconds left on the clock, she enters and sits on The Serpent Queen's throne, slapping the arm-rests down. Both doors open, and she opts to enter The Dark Forest. (Kirk: Ohhh, many contestants have gotten lost in there... Hopefully, Judy won't get lost too!) She makes her way through the confusing mess of trees and brush, but once she reaches the door, it doesn't open! She's run into a dead-end! She doubles back and returns to the throne room, costing her 30 seconds! Now, with 2 minutes and 5 seconds, she chooses to go upstairs into the Chamber. She begins grabbing the runes and matching the symbols, and after 12 seconds... *_FLASH!! TEMPLE GUARD!!_* Blue Mask jumps out, Judy screams! It's time for Contestant 2 (Eddie) to clean up! Eddie races up the stairs into the temple and quickly gets down into The Ledges, with 1 minute and 50 seconds left, Eddie crawls out of The Ledges, and into The Pit of Despair, heading for the throne room. He then climbs up the ladder and makes it to where Judy was taken out. He notices the door where the Temple Guard appeared was open, leading up to The Bell Tower. So he climbs up, and once there, he strikes the bell with the mallet, and with a loud _GONG!!*_ the door leading down to Cerberus is open. With 1 minute and 28 seconds left, he enters Cerberus and begins pressing down on the tongues. He tries the right one... _no luck!_ He tries the middle one... _SUCCESS!_ The door is unlocked, _BUT WAIT, HE FORGOT THE HALF-PENDANT!!_ He soon pays the price, because as he enters The Shrine... (Kirk: *_AHHHHHH, TEMPLE GUARD, GOT HIM IN THE SHRINE!! AND HE JUST MISSED THE OTHER HALF-PENDANT!!_* ) Sadly, he misses the half-pendant, and Black Mask captures Eddie in The Shrine, thus ending their run in a Triple Seizure. (Kirk: It was in The Cathedral of Cerberus. Darn it!) Of course, Kirk assures Judy that even though they blew out at the temple, they _will_ get the skateboards. (Kirk: We'll get those Temple Guards next time. Join us again for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! See ya later!) (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: After a very long credit roll due to the Triple Seizure, Gold Mask is seen rising up from The Well into The Witch Doctor's Apothecary. Black Mask then walks in with two of the potions from said room, giving one of them to Gold Mask. They then "toast" the potions for their victory against the Orange Iguanas, as the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears.) (By the way, if you've been keeping score of every "episode", here's the current standings of the last 18 temple runs! Wins - 7 (Two of which were perfect solo-wins) with a 38% success rate in the temple. Failed Escapes - 5 with a 27% chance of the team not making it out of the temple. Failed Acquisitions - 2 with an 11% chance of the team failing to reach the item. Triple Seizures - 4 with a 22% chance of the team encountering all three Temple Guards. Team with the most wins: Green Monkeys with 3 Team with the least wins: A tie between Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes with 0 Team with the most losses: A tie between the Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes with 3 Team with the least losses: A tie between the Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas with 1 Team with the most Triple Seizures: Red Jaguars with 2 Team with the least Triple Seizures: A tie between the Purple Parrots and Orange Iguanas with 1
Kevin: Congratulations. You won a computer system. How do you feel? Contestant: awesome. Kevin: so glad to hear. Right now, we better take you to the present. Remember at ACME TIMENET, the history is our job, Kevin and the contestant: The future is yours.
Someone MUST have used DOS to make this song back then!
Something about that bass track here slaps... and plucks, too!
It's that time again, it's time for a new layout! Utilizing the previous layout, we change directions and see three new rooms, and the return of a room from the older layouts! Take us away, Olmec! (cue 0:00) You could start by entering the temple through The Ledges, and climbing down... ...into The Pit of Despair. Place yourself upon the Axis of Despair, and turn it to lift the stone slab. Then pass... ...into The Serpent Queen's Throne Room. Sit upon her throne and press down on the arm-rests, and you could choose to go upstairs, into The Chamber of the Sacred Markers, or... ...you could choose to enter... *_THE DARK FOREST..._* Carefully make your way through the confusing maze of trees and brush, and if you escape... ...you may have a chance to enter The Pharaoh's Tomb. Grab the key from the mummified hand and try to unlock the doors to go upstairs, or plow through the wall... ...and into The Well. Once there, place yourself inside the bucket, and rise up... ...into The Witch Doctor's Apothecary. Smash the potions to find the secret key, to unlock the door... ... *_TO THE SHRIIIIIIIIIIIIINE OF THE SIIIIIILVEEEEEEEEER MOOOOOOONKEEEEEEEY!!!_* Do what you must to put all three pieces of that blasted monkey together! Once you do, you may be headed... ...for The Cathedral of Cerberus... *_BUT BEWARE OF THE TEMPLE GUARD THAT HAS POSSESSED ONE OF THE HEADS!!_* Reach into one of the three-headed dog's mouths and press down on it's tongue, to open the door... ...to The Chamber of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right with the runes on the left, and the door will open, leading you upstairs, into... ...The Bell Tower. Grab the mallet, and strike the bell to unlock the doors, which will lead you down the stairs... ...and across The Troubled Bridge. Next, pass through The Lantern Room, race down the stairs, and back to the Temple Gates! *_THE CHOICES ARE YOURS, AND YOURS ALONE!_*
The nostalgia is real!
I like this temple track a lot growing up.
With Halloween close at hand, it's time for a spooky legend! This time... *THE LEGEND OF THE SANGUINE AMULET OF DRACULA!* "One of the most renowned horror stories of our time is Bram Stoker's tale of Count Dracula. The story speaks of a ruler known as Vlad the Impaler, who when influenced by blood magic became the sinister Count Dracula. According to the legend, Lord Vlad ruled over Romania during the 15th century and swore to defend his country of Transylvania from the Ottoman Empire, who had planned to invade and conquer for many years. "Blah! They think they can destroy me, Vlad the Impaler?! Ha! I will show them no mercy! PEOPLE OF TRANSYLVANIA, GO AND KILL THE OTTOMANS!" But as time went on, his followers grew weary of his obsession with power. It was at this time that Lord Vlad found a new way to fight his battles, through the power of blood magic. He went to his alchemy lab to test many methods, and it was here that he met a mysterious woman named Lilith, who offered her blood to give him new powers. "Please, Lord Vlad! Bite me and drink my blood, and I shall give you the powers you sorely need!" Soon, Lord Vlad bit her and drank her blood, discovering a demonic power within her life force. With it, he gained new powers to control those he bites. "Ha ha! This is perfect! I will become the most feared vampire in all the land! From this forward, I am now... COUNT DRACULA!" He then used the blood of Lilith to enchant an amulet he held on to, and imbued it with his new sanguine powers. With it, he was able to manipulate and brainwash his people to become vampires just as he was. However, he soon realized that his bloodlust for Lilith was also a curse that he couldn't escape from... For Lilith was a succubus that now had control over Dracula's mind! Dracula took his followers, and fled to an old castle within Transylvania, where they continued to grow in numbers from the victims they would claim. However, one night, someone within the ranks of the Ottoman Empire named Van Helsing dared to enter the castle and killed all of the vampires within it's walls, and eventually, he came upon Dracula. After a fierce battle with the Count, Van Helsing drove a wooden stake drenched in holy water into Dracula's heart, reducing the former ruler to nothing but a skeleton! Soon after, the country of Romania was soon seized by the Ottoman Empire, and the tyranny of Count Dracula was finally over. As for his amulet that had brainwashed the many souls of Transylvania, it was thought to be lost when the castle crumbled to the ground, but it has somehow found it's way into the temple! Your quest is to find The Sanguine Amulet of Dracula, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. So, tell us. Where is the sanguine amulet? Olmec: The Sanguine Amulet of Dracula can be found... *_IN THE GALLOWS OF SORROW..._* (SPOILER ALERT: Lo and behold, those slippery Silver Snakes steal a win from under the noses of the Red Jaguars in a tie-breaker! And so, they're headed to the temple with one pendant... But will this "amulet" be a blessing or a curse, and will they escape with the sanguine amulet? The Temple Guards are located in The Ledges (Gold Mask), The Cathedral of Cerberus (Black Mask operating the middle head), and The Dark Forest (Blue Mask). As the run begins, Contestant 1 (Jana) enters the temple by going down, and just as she heads for the crawl tube headed to The Pit, Gold Mask grabs her ankle, causing her to yelp in terror! She throws the pendant at him, knowing that's gonna cost them dearly, but she presses on. Now, she enters The Pit of Despair with 2 minutes and 46 seconds on the clock. Despite a rocky start in The Ledges, she starts looking for her next path. She tries to climb up to The Archer's Tower door, and with a bit of a struggle on the wall climb, she climbs up, and the door opens. She climbs up and in, and makes her way up to The Archer's Tower. She begins by pulling the first bow back, which doesn't work. She tries the second one, same result. She tries the third one, and third time's the charm! The door opens, and she makes her way down the ladder into The Chamber of the Sacred Markers with 2 minutes and 19 seconds left. She begins to place the runes in the correct order, and at the 2 minute, 9 second mark, *_FLASH!_* the doors are unlocked! She decides to enter Cerberus, and begins the daunting task of pressing down on the tongues. She tries the first one, no luck. And when she presses the second one, the door opens, but... (Cerberus: *_LUNCH TIME!!!!_* ) Cerberus eats Jana, which means it's time for Contestant 2 (Lane) to clean up! With 1 minute and 58 seconds, he enters the temple the way Jana went, sliding down into The Ledges, then down into The Pit of Despair. He makes the climb, albeit falling off at first, but after a second climb, he gets into the door and heads up to the tower. Now, with 1 minute and 39 seconds, he climbs down the ladder into the chamber, then b-lines for Cerberus, and to his surprise, the door is open! He quickly gets into The Shrine, and now with 1 minute and 31 seconds, _it's time for The Monkey..._ He starts by grabbing all the pieces from the walls and places them near the pedestal. He starts with the base, but fails to realize one thing... (Kirk: He's got the base on backwards! You gotta turn it around!) He continues to put the monkey together, not realizing what Kirk is saying! He puts on the body finally, but soon sees a problem when he tries to put the head on... (Kirk: TURN THE MONKEY AROUND! YOU GOTTA TURN THE MONKEY AROUND!!) Realizing his mistake, and how it's cost him 30 seconds, he's in big trouble! He starts disassembling the monkey, then turns the base around to face away from him. He continues to try and put the monkey together again, but suddenly, he makes another grave mistake! _HE DROPS THE BODY!_ (Kirk: He dropped the body!! Ohhh, that's gonna cost him some time!!) But luckily, "A Friendly Temple Guard" (aka: Gold Mask, now back to being a stagehand) tosses the body back up to Lane. Lane then gets back to work, and finally, once he jams the head down, the door leading down opens. Now, after a horrible run with the monkey, he now only has 30 seconds left on the clock! He needs to hurry up and get down there! He climbs down into The Pharaoh's Tomb, and grabs the key. Not realizing the obvious, he heads over to the door leading to The Dark Forest, which does unlock. But he then takes note of the wall. And quickly, he bashes through the wall and into The Pit of Bones. With only 12 seconds left, he runs over to the ladder and grabs the rope to release the trap door above. It opens, and makes his way up, trying to make it to the amulet before time runs out. Once in The Gallows, he has 5 seconds to grab the amulet, which he does! The doors unlock, and just as he races back into The Shrine... ( *_THUNDEROUS EXPLOSION!!!!!_* Kirk: That's it, he got the amulet, but time ran out! Darn it!) Well, despite the struggle with that "blasted monkey", Jana and Lane are leaving with the Academy Sports and Outdoors package and the mountain bikes. Guess Dracula's Curse has cost them a trip to Cedar Point... _as well as the Silver Monkey and it's confusing puzzle..._ (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: As the credits near the end, we see Black Mask "playfully" take the amulet from Lane and swing it in front of the camera, as if to try and "curse" the viewers to keep watching Legends of the Hidden Temple every day! But we can't do that now, because the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears, signaling the end of the show...)
Great channel, very extensive library of sounds. If I may offer one correction of sorts, the win cue for S1 is actually not the one heard here. The first-season variation’s difference is that the final four notes are doubled by a bass drum. Admittedly, this can be hard to hear over all the crowd noise and the host’s voice, but if you listen for it, it’s quite distinctive.

From Greek Mythology to American History, today we hear... *THE LEGEND OF THE LOST OFFICER'S CAP OF GENERAL CUSTER!* "One of the greatest battles ever fought on American soil was The Battle of the Little Bighorn! In 1876, The 7th Calvary Regiment found themselves in battle with the Northern Lakota, Sioux, Cheyenne, and Arapaho Indian tribes. The deadly skirmish was lead by George Armstrong Custer, a General of the United States Army, who had previously served in the American Civil War and the American Indian War. The Crow's head chief, Blackfoot, met with Custer to begin sanctions to remove the invading tribes from their land. "General, they have taken all of The Crow's reservation, and are planning to seize the entire state from us!" "These Lakota are really roughin' up the other tribes and pillagin' their lands! I reckon we wipe 'em out before things get really hairy!" According to the legend, in 1851, said Indian tribes had already seized control of many of the reservations in southern Montana, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. Custer lead his Regiment into battle at Little Bighorn on June 25, 1876, alongside members of The Crow. Together, over 700 men met with The Lakota and Cheyenne tribes at the river of Little Bighorn. For two days, the battle raged on, and many casualties of war were laid out along the riverbanks. It was then that the Sioux tribe, along with the Arapaho, soon made their move and attacked them, thus beginning The Great Sioux War of 1876. A total of 268 American soldiers and Indians of The Crow were killed in the battle, and General Custer was killed by the Lakota the very same day the war had begun, and the day would be known as "Custer's Last Stand". To this day, no one knows who killed General Custer. However, the Lakota took his officer's cap and tossed into the Little Bighorn River, and it drifted away, never to be seen again. However, legend has it that the cap made it's way out to the Pacific Northwest and drifted into the ocean. Many years later, it found it's way to the temple! You quest is to find The Lost Officer's Cap of General Custer, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. So, where is General Custer's cap? Olmec: The Lost Officer's Cap of General Custer can be found... *_IN THE DARK FOREST..._* (SPOILER ALERT: The Purple Parrots managed to outlast those dastardly Red Jaguars in the temple games and snagged 1 and 1/2 pendants, which will take them to Olmec's Temple! But can they make one _Last Stand,_ and get Custer's cap out of the temple? Here we go! The Temple Guards are located in The Serpent Queen's Throne Room (Gold Mask), The Cathedral of Cerberus (Black Mask controlling the left head), and The Pharaoh's Tomb (Blue Mask), while the other half-pendant is in The Chamber of the Sacred Markers, inside the corridor hanging on one of the rungs of the ladder. As the run begins, Contestant 1 (James) makes his way into the temple, opting to slide down into The Ledges. He chooses to try going down, but he's run into a problem... _it's a dead end, both doors are locked!!_ So now, he must climb up and go into The Lanterns, wasting 23 precious seconds! Now, with 2 minutes and 37 seconds left, he enters The Lanterns and begins to pull the ropes. After two failed pulls, the third lanterns lights up, and the door opens, leading him down into The Pit of Despair. Soon, he opens the lowest door, going down into the throne room with 2 minutes and 25 seconds. As he sits down, Gold Mask rushes in to grab him! But he hands off his pendant and soon, Gold Mask backs off. James tries to open the door, but it's locked. He looks confused, but as Gold Mask leaves the room, the Temple Guard can be heard saying "Go up!". And sure enough, James sees the door is open, and he makes his way up, _thanks to a rather generous Temple Guard._ Now, with 2 minutes and 13 seconds left, he enters The Chamber of the Sacred Markers and begins to put the runes in place, matching the symbols on the right. After about 11 seconds... *_FLASH!!_* The corridor opens, _along with the door going into Cerberus!_ He wants to go up at first, but he notices something... he grabs the half-pendant and waves it at Contestant 2 (Lucia), signaling for her to come grab it when it's her turn. He leaves it in the room, and proceeds into Cerberus. And then, with 2 minutes and 2 seconds, James starts to press down on the tongues. First one? _No luck!_ Second one? _No way!_ Third one? ... (Cerberus: *_FEED ME!!!!!!!_* ) James is eaten by Cerberus, and now it's Lucia's time to enter the temple! She follows the path James took, sliding down into The Ledges with 1 minute and 55 seconds left to go. She climbs up into The Lanterns and soon makes her way down into The Pit of Despair, heading for the throne room. She begins her climb into The Chamber, and with 1 minute and 30 seconds left, she has arrived where James flashed the half-pendant. She looks at the top of the ladder, seeing that he hung it on the top rung for her, then grabs it. She then makes her way into Cerberus, noticing that the door is opened, despite James being caught. And now, it's time for _The Monkey!_ With 1 minute and 25 seconds left on the clock, she enters The Shrine, and begins assembling that "blasted monkey", as Olmec refers to it. As of late, it has proven to be a struggle, and Lucia will not be an exception, as she takes a painful _47 SECONDS_ to put The Silver Monkey together! Now, with 33 seconds left on the clock, she heads into The Gallows of Sorrow. She reaches up and pulls down on the noose, releasing the trap door leading into "the bone room" as Kirk has been calling it. (Gotta love how Kirk keeps getting the room names wrong...) With 25 seconds left, Lucia climbs down into "the bone room", aka: The Pit of Bones, and makes her way through the clutter mess of bones, eventually smashing through the stone wall into The Pharaoh's Tomb. And as she reaches for the key, Blue Mask jumps out of the door! Lucia screams, dropping both pieces of her pendant! She quickly gathers up both pieces and hands them to Blue Mask, pleading for her to hurry up, _and she better hurry! She's only got 15 seconds left!!_ As Blue Mask spares her from a Triple Seizure, Lucia grabs the key and places it into the door leading to The Dark Forest, which opens for her! She crawls through the passage leading into the confusing mass of trees, hoping to make it to Custer's cap before time runs out, but she finds herself lost in the maze of trees and brush. And then, with only 3 seconds left, she finds the cap and grabs it, but just as she hears the doors unlock... ( *_THUNDEROUS EXPLOSION!!!!_* ) Lucia stops dead in tracks, looking exhausted, _but relieved she got the cap._ Unfortunately, another L for the Purple Parrots, as their run has ended with a failed escape. As Lucia exits the temple, Kirk _does_ remind her and James that even though they're not going on a cruise to Aruba, they _WILL_ go home with the hiking equipment and the JVC boombox. (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: As the credits end, we find Gold Mask petting one of the heads of Cerberus, as if to say "Good boy! Another win for the Temple Guards!" Black Mask, who was controlling Cerberus, "bites down" on Gold Mask's wrist, and he pretends to struggle. We won't know who wins in the end, because the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears.)

Another day, another story of Greek Mythology! Today, we will hear... *THE LEGEND OF THE GOLDEN ROSEBUSH OF KING MIDAS!* "One of the most famous tales of Greek Mythology is the tale of the most lavish King of Phyrgia, King Midas! He ruled over Phyrgia in such a way that many of servants envied his opulent nature! According to the legend, King Midas came upon a drunkard is his luxurious rose garden. But this was no ordinary drunkard, it was his old schoolmaster, Silenus! "My word! Is that the satyr Selinus?! I have not seen you since I was a young lad!" "Ohh, woe is me, I think I had far too much fun last night, your majesty!" Feeling pity for his old teacher, King Midas cared for him for 11 days, offering food and shelter. In return, Silenus offered the King entertainment and stories of his many travels. "Ha ha! Such opulence! Old man, you certainly know how to make this King feel young again!" When it was time for Silenus to return to Lydia, Dionysus, the god which King Midas worshipped, made an opulent offer in return for his hospitality. "My good man, I shall give you anything you want! Name it! I will make it so!" King Midas couldn't resist such an offer, and said loudly "I WISH THAT WHATEVER I TOUCH TURNS TO GOLD! I SHALL BECOME A GOD OF OPULENCE!" His wish was granted, and when he first tested it, he touched a rosebush within his garden. To his surprise, it shimmered and shined as it turned to gold, just as he wished! "YES! I SHALL CHANGE THE WORLD, SO THAT EVERYONE SHALL BE RICH AND OPULENT AS I!" But this foolish act of opulence would soon become his undoing... Soon, everything he touched turned to gold, even the food and wine he loved so dearly! "This is horrible! Oh, what have I done?!" His greed lead to him starving for many days, and he soon fell to his knees, pleading to the god, Dionysus, to reverse the effects. "So, you see the folly of your gluttony, eh? Very well. Go to the Pactolus River, and cleanse yourself of your sinful ways." King Midas quickly made his way to the Pactolus River, but when he dipped his hands into the water, the entire river turned to gold! "NO, THIS CANNOT BE!! THE CURSE IS STILL THERE!!" Soon, King Midas fell gravely ill from starvation, and soon died from his greedy ways. Soon after, many came to the former king's palace and took everything, including the golden rosebush from his garden. Years later, the same rosebush found it's way into the temple. Your quest is to find The Golden Rosebush of King Midas, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. Now, tell us where the Golden Rosebush is. Olmec: The Golden Rosebush of King Midas can be found... *_IN THE CHAMBER OF THE SACRED MARKERS..._* (SPOILER ALERT: The Red Jaguars outwit The Silver Snakes in the Temple Games, and with a come from behind tie-breaker win, the cats are going to the temple with one pendant! But, will their only pendant have "The Midas Touch" to get them to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers and get the Golden Rosebush? Let's find out! The Temple Guards are located in The Ledges (Gold Mask), The Cathedral of Cerberus (Blue Mask, controlling the first head), and The Gallows of Sorrow (Black Mask). As the temple run begins, contestant 1 (Amy) makes her way into the temple, going upstairs to The Lanterns. She pulls out the ropes, trying to light one of them. It takes all three, but both doors open. She opts to go down the stairs into The Pit of Despair. With 2 minutes and 44 seconds on the clock, she jumps down and goes to the lower part of The Central Shaft, and enters the throne room. She sits down on The Serpent Queen's throne, and only one door opens. She tries to climb up for The Chamber, but it's locked. (Obviously...) So she instead heads into The Dark Forest. (Kirk: Ohhhh, many contestants get lost in there!) She pushes through the dense brush and mass of trees, until she finds her way to the other side, and opens the door to The Pharaoh's Tomb. Now with 2 minutes and 12 seconds left, she pulls the key from the Pharaoh's hand and tries to open the door to the shrine, but it doesn't open. So she has to plow through the wall into The Pit of Bones. Instead of going up the ladder, she instead pulls on the rope, and the trap door opens. She climbs the ladder up into The Gallows of Sorrow, and at 1 minute and 56 seconds, she encounters her first Temple Guard! Black Mask rushes out, laughing menacingly, but Amy surrenders her only pendant, and Black Mask is soon gone. Now, she opens the door to the shrine, and this is where things get hairy. With 1 minute and 47 seconds, she begins a task of futility, struggling to put the monkey together. She has the base on backwards, and runs to get the other two pieces. She places the head on the floor, while she corrects her mistake, getting the base facing away from her. She then tries every which way to put the body on, wasting precious time. But eventually, she gets the body on right, then she jams the head down, FINALLY getting the monkey together! Now, with 1 minute and 7 seconds remaining, she heads into Cerberus, but when she puts her hands into the first head's mouth... (Cerberus: *_LUNCH TIME!!!!!!_* ) Amy's eaten by Cerberus! It's time for contestant 2 (Blake) to head into the temple! With only 1 minute and 2 seconds, he has to put on his "go-fasters" and get to Cerberus before time runs out! He rockets through The Lanterns, does the tried-and-true "jump and dive" technique in The Pit of Despair, heading into the throne room. With only 52 seconds left, he's in The Dark Forest, and he tries to push through the brush and trees the same way Amy did earlier, and soon, he's in The Pharaoh's Tomb. He then arrives in The Pit of Bones with 30 seconds left, and he tries his best to get up the ladder into The Gallows. Time is running out for Blake, and he heads through the Shrine into Cerberus, with only 24 seconds left. He presses down on the first tongue... _nothing!_ He tries the second tongue... _nothing!_ Of course, it _would_ the third tongue! He presses it down, looking visibly frustrated this point, because the door _to The Archer's Tower opened!_ With only 15 seconds left, he makes a valiant effort to get up the stairs and pull back on the bows. And surprisingly, he gets the first one, and it opens the door to The Chamber! The audience is counting down, as he begins to climb down the shaft into The Chamber, and with 5 seconds left, he grabs the rosebush, and all the doors open. But as he climbs through the crawl tube to The Pit of Despair... ( *_THUNDEROUS EXPLOSION!!!!_* ) ...Blake drops into the pit, feeling very disappointed, as their run has ended in a failed escape. Blake eventually returns to Amy who gives him an encouraging hug, and Kirk reminds them that they're going home with the bikes _and_ the PlayStation, so not a _bad_ ending to a temple run, _but that trip to Space Camp would've been nice... Oh well, c'est la vie._ (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: Before the credits end, we see Black Mask in The Dark Forest taunting the camera from within the brush, reminding the viewers that they run the temple. Olmec is heard saying "Alright, back to work! We have another legend to prepare for!", which prompts Black Mask to disappear into the trees before the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears.)

“We gotta get out of here! Join us next time for another adventure and another legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!”

Thanks you for that
0:06 Olmec, lower your gate.
As if a new season of Legends has kicked off, here's another legend, this time... *THE LEGEND OF THE EBONY SADDLE OF THE ENCHANTED HORSE!* "One of the most fabled stories of the Thousand and One Arabian Nights Tales is the story of The Enchanted Horse. Long ago in the Persian City of Shiraz, there was a craftsman who built a mechanical horse made of ebony and fine metals. Legend has it that the King of Persia came upon the craftsman, hearing of this great undertaking. "My goodness! Such a remarkable show of craftsmanship! May I claim this for my son, the prince?" The craftsman gladly took the King's request, and was paid handsomely. When the King returned to present the prince with the mechanical steed, he mounted it and was soon spirited away! "Unbelievable!! I'm flying!!" The prince tried to stop the flying horse, but it continued to fly, taking him far away from Persia, and soon, he found himself in the Kingdom of Bengali! It was there that a beautiful princess saw the young prince and his flying horse. "Such beauty in such a strange steed! Oh, please take me with you! I wish to see what this creature can do!" The prince invited her to mount the steed, and together, they traveled all across Saudi Arabia. During this time, however, the King of Shiraz was overthrown by the same craftsman who gave him the horse. When the prince returned with the princess, the craftsman captured her and the horse, and flew away to Kashmir. "My son! He was plotting to kill you and take the horse! You must stop him!" "Don't worry, father. In the name of Shiraz and the Princess of Bengali, I will get the horse back!" The prince made the long journey to Kashmir, where the King of Bengali has already taken care of the craftsman for kidnapping his daughter. "You shall be fed to the crocodiles for this, kidnapper!" During the scuffle, the prince, disguised as a doctor, informed the princess they were leaving for Persia on the horse. "Quickly, your father cannot know of this! I don't want to be crocodile food as well!" Together, they eloped from Kashmir and returned to Shiraz, where they were married and continued their journey on the back of what would be known as "The Enchanted Horse". However, on their wedding day, they were given a golden saddle, and the ebony saddle was thrown into a junk carriage to be hauled away. Many years later, the saddle found it's way into the temple. Your quest is to find The Ebony Saddle of The Enchanted Horse, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. So where is The Ebony Saddle? Olmec: The Ebony Saddle of The Enchanted Horse can be found... *_IN THE PHARAOH'S TOMB..._* (SPOILER ALERT: Look out, cause the Blue Barracuda's managed to outfox the Green Monkeys in the Temple Games, and got one and a half pendants to win a trip to Olmec's Temple! Now, can they overcome the odds and get out with The Ebony Saddle, with a trip to Busch Gardens on the line? The Temple Guards are located in The Serpent Queen's Throne Room (Gold Mask), The Chamber of the Sacred Markers (Blue Mask), and The Gallows of Sorrow (Black Mask), while the other half-pendant is in The Cathedral of Cerberus in the middle head's mouth. Contestant 1 (Jenni) begins her trek into the temple by sliding down into The Ledges. She has a little trouble finding the right crawl tube, but eventually, the right tube opens and she slides down into The Pit of Despair. She climbs through and heads down into the throne room. Just as she sits down, Gold Mask surprises her and she surrenders her pendant. Now, with 2 minutes and 31 seconds left on the clock, she presses down on the arm-rests and both doors open up. She chooses to go up, figuring that The Dark Forest will be a dead-end. She heads up into The Chamber of the Sacred Markers, and she quickly gets to work on the matching the runes. And then, with 2 minutes and 12 seconds left, she matches them all, and then... *FLASH!* Blue Mask appears from behind the door, capturing Jenni! And now, contestant 2 (Jakob) runs in to pick up where Jenni left off! He quickly slides down into The Ledges, then down to the tube into The Pit. He quickly gets into the throne room and starts up the ladder, now with 1 minute and 50 seconds on the clock, he continues where Jenni was captured and makes his way up into The Archer's Tower. He pulls back on the first bow, and presto! He's got it on the first try. Now he races down the stairs into Cerberus. He presses down on the right tongue, but nothing happens. He presses down on the middle tongue, and he feels something... _It's the other half-pendant!_ He tries the left tongue, and the door opens. (Kirk: Ahhh!! It _WOULD_ be the last one! Always is!) Now with 1 minute and 29 seconds left, it's time for The Monkey! This time, it proves to be a real struggle. He puts the base on backwards, but quickly goes to fetch the other two pieces. He then corrects his mistake, but he has a hard time trying to put the body on. At this point, Jenni's screaming for Jakob to hurry, because time is not on their side. With 1 minute left, he finally jams the head down, and the door opens to the Gallows! As he runs inside, Black Mask emerges from the door, but thanks to Jakob's search in Cerberus, this run will not end in a Triple Seizure, and Black Mask leaves with both pieces. With the Temple Guard gone, Jakob pulls the noose, and the trap door going down falls out. Now, Jakob gets on the ladder and climbs down into The Pit of Bones, with 44 seconds left on the clock. As he hits the floor, he busts through the wall and into The Pharaoh's Tomb, where the Ebony Saddle awaits! He grabs and begins his escape, with Jenni screaming, hoping Jakob will make it out in time! With 37 seconds left, he now enters The Dark Forest and pushes his way through the trees and brush. It proves to be a challenge, but he eventually makes it's to the throne room with 27 seconds left, and quickly gets back to The Pit. He then heads up the crawl tube and gets into The Ledges with only 19 seconds left. Jakob almost makes a grave mistake by going down, but he doubles back and climbs up, as the audience starts the 10-second countdown. He quickly climbs up the slide, and with only 6 seconds left, Jakob races down the stairs, *_AND THE BLUE BARRACUDAS ESCAPE THE TEMPLE WITH THE SADDLE!!_* Jenni and Jakob hug it out with Kirk after a very close escape! They win it all! They get the bikes! _They get the PlayStation! _*_THEY'RE GOING TO BUSCH GARDENS!!_* (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: As the credits finish, we see Gold Mask sitting on the Serpent Queen's Throne with his arms folded. He then flashes a peace sign to the camera before the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears. _Get used to Temple Guards appearing at the end of the closing credits..._ )
From Chinese folklore to Greek Mythology, today we tackle *THE LEGEND OF THE NEMEAN LION CLOAK OF HERCULES!* "One of the greatest champions of Greek Mythology was the mighty son of Zeus, Hercules! Hercules was a warrior with unspeakable strength, and a champion among many of the greatest gladiators in Ancient Greece. Among his many armaments was his most prized possession, a cloak that he made out of the skin of the Nemean Lion. According to the legend, Hercules was sent on a quest by Zeus to find said beast. "My son, I wish to offer a great challenge to you! Bring me the body of the Nemean Lion as tribute to me within 30 days. If you fail, then I must take the life of a young boy as tribute instead. Do not disappoint me, son!" Hercules knew that many children looked to him as a hero, and did not want to tarnish his great name. So he set off to find the lion. He ventured to a town known as Cleonae and met a shepherd named Molorchos, who was mourning the loss of his son. "Who could've done such a horrible thing to this child?!" Hercules shouted. "The Nemean Lion! It slew my son without warning! You must kill it before it finds another victim!" So Hercules set off to find the beast before it hurt anyone else. Eventually, he found a trail of blood leading to a cave, and there it stood, the Nemean Lion! Hercules and the lion battled fiercely, until Hercules came up with an idea. Hercules struck the lion in it's leg with an arrow, crippling the savage beast. "Go now! I don't wish to harm you anymore! You can't even stand up straight! It would unfair to you!" The lion retreated into the cave, only for Hercules to attack from behind, killing the lion! Hercules then skinned the animal, and crafted it into a cloak as a badge of honor. When he returned thirteen days later, King Eurystheus was horrified at the sight! "What are you doing?! Making a fashion statement?! You were to just kill the beast as tribute, not wearing with such egotism! Begone!" Hercules left, but Zeus was pleased with his son's efforts. "Ha! I couldn't have done it better, son! Well done!" Hercules then went on to slay more monsters and champions while wearing his prized cloak. However, when he battled against the God of the Underworld, Hades, his cloak was lost in the great battle. Years later, it found it's way to the temple! Your quest is to find The Nemean Lion Cloak of Hercules, and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thanks, Olmec. Now tell us where the cloak is. Olmec: The Nemean Lion Cloak of Hercules can be found... *_IN THE CATHEDRAL OF CERBERUS..._* (SPOILER ALERT: Lady Luck is smiling down on the Purple Parrots, as they managed to defeat the Red Jaguars, netting them one and a half pendants. But given the Purple Parrot's track record in the temple, it'll be a Herculean feat to get to the Nemean Lion Cloak. The Temple Guards are located in The Lantern Room (Gold Mask), The Serpent Queen's Throne Room (Blue Mask), and The Pit of Bones (Black Mask), while the other half-pendant is located in The Dark Forest, hanging off the branch of one of the many trees. As the run begins, contestant 1 (Cathee) makes her way into the temple, she decides to go up into the Lanterns, and is quickly greeted by Gold Mask, which causes her to scream. Deciding to ease up on her, he extends his hand out for the pendant and gets out fast. Cathee, shaken up by Gold Mask, starts to pull on the ropes, and opens the door to The Pit. With 2 minutes and 46 seconds left on the clock, she jumps down into The Pit and tries the bottom door, which opens. But as she gets inside and tries to sit down, Blue Mask rushes out. Contestant 2 (David), hearing Cathee scream bloody murder, takes off into the temple, with 2 minutes and 33 seconds left on the clock. He rushes through the Lanterns and does the timed honored tradition of jumping and diving through the bottom door of The Pit. Now in the Throne Room, with 2 minutes and 23 seconds left on the clock, he picks up where Cathee left off, sitting down on the Throne. Both doors open, and he decides to climb up into The Chamber of the Sacred Markers. He quickly places the runes on the left of the door, and the door flies up. With 2 minutes left, he now climbs up to the Archer's Tower, hoping it'll take him down to Cerberus. As he pulls back on the bows, he now realizes it's a dead end. Now, with 1 minute and 41 seconds left on the clock, he makes the long climb down the central shaft of the temple. At 1 minute and 31 seconds, David is back in the Throne Room. He now tries the other door, and heads into The Dark Forest. He pushes through the brush and navigates through the trees. But as he climbs through... _he misses the half-pendant!_ (Kirk: Ohhh! That might cost him!) David continues with only 1 minute and 23 seconds left. He makes it to the other side, and opens the door to The Pharaoh's Tomb. He grabs the key from the hand, and tries to open the door to the Shrine, but it doesn't work. He then plows through the wall into the Pit of Bones, and just as he tries to pull on the rope for the trap door, the back door slides open, and Black Mask snatches David away, ending their run in a Triple Seizure! (Kirk: And he just missed the other half-pendant. It was in The Dark Forest.) Kirk and Cathee lament a little before David gets back about her big scares by the Temple Guards, which she just laughs it off. Despite a terrible ending, they do leave with the skateboards. Kirk: Those darn Temple Guards got us today, but we'll get 'em next time! So join us again for another legend of the Hidden Temple! See ya! (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: Blue Mask is seen in Cerberus, holding the Nemean Lion Cloak up proudly, as if to say "Another victory for the Guards!" before the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears.)

And with that new layout, it's time a new legend, one that is as iconic as that damned Silver Monkey! *THE LEGEND OF THE GOLDEN-RINGED STAFF OF SUN WUKONG!* "One of the greatest stories of Chinese folklore is the famous _Journey to the West,_ the story of action, adventure, and a certain Monkey King named Sun Wukong! Legend has it that Sun's amazing power was contained in his magical pole, a staff made of black iron, infused with golden rings. The story of his magic staff began in the third chapter of _Journey to the West,_ where the Monkey King entered the underwater kingdom of Ao Guang, also known as The Dragon King of the East Sea. There, he met the dragon queen and her husband, who heard of Sun's adventures so far, and wished to bestow upon him weapons for battle. "Swords?! Polearms?! These are but mere toys! They're not worthy of my hands!" Surprised by his disappointment, the queen speaks to her husband. "What a rude little pest! We give him a choice and he bawks at us?!" "Oh, don't worry, honey. I have something _more suitable for him..._ " He then presents a black iron pillar that was used to measure the great floods by Yu the Great. "Here, if these weapons are not to your liking, then perhaps this useless iron stick will suffice!" Suddenly, upon grabbing the massive piece of metal, it suddenly became a staff containing his immense power! Sun Wukong was amazed by this, and it became his weapon of choice during his journey. The staff could do unbelievable feats, but only at the command of Sun. Knowing that many would try to seize such an amazing weapon, he shrunk it down to the size of a tooth pick and hid it behind his ear. However, when battles arose, or magic was needed, Sun would summon the golden-ringed staff almost out of thin air! "Ha! Who would've thought a mere piece of metal would become my most powerful asset! It's almost like it was destined to be mine!" Throughout the journey, Sun's magical staff stayed by his side, until one day... When Sun Wukong realized his destiny of Buddhahood, his staff suddenly vanished from his temple! No one has seen the staff since... *_UNTIL NOW!_* Your quest is to find The Golden-Ringed Staff of Sun Wukong and bring it back here!" Kirk: Thanks, Olmec. So where is the staff? Olmec: The Golden-Ringed Staff of Sun Wukong can be found *_IN THE SHRRRRRIIIIIIIINE OF THE SIIIIIILVEEEEEER MOOOOONKEEEEEEEY!!_* (SPOILER ALERT: As if by fate, the Green Monkeys take down those dirty Silver Snakes in the Temple Games, netting two pendants for their efforts. And now, their "Journey to the Shrine", as Kirk refers to it, is about to take off! The Temple Guards are located in The Ledges (Gold Mask), The Chamber of the Sacred Markers (Blue Mask), and The Gallows of Sorrow (Black Mask). Contestant 1 (Bradlee, or "Bad Brad" as Olmec and Kirk refer to him as), takes off into the Temple, heading upstairs for The Lanterns. He pulls down on the first lantern, not worried about the scary red door that could fly open to his right. But he doesn't care, as the door to The Pit of Despair opens for him. He leaps off the stairs and down into the Pit with no problems so far. With 2 minutes and 44 seconds on the clock, he's already on a good pace as he enters the throne room. He sits down on the Serpent Queen's throne, presses down on the arm-rests, and both doors open. He spots the door on his right open, which leads him to The Dark Forest, avoiding a run-in with Blue Mask had he gone up the ladder. He has a little trouble navigating through the trees and bushes, tripping over a log in the process. But despite that, he reaches the door leading to The Pharaoh's Tomb, with 2 minutes and 8 seconds left. "Bad Brad" grabs the key and tries to unlock the door to go upstairs, but it's a dud. So he instead plows through the wall and into The Pit of Bones. He reaches for the rope to drop the trap door, which does open. But then, he glances at the ladder leading to the Shrine and tries his luck there. He tries it, _and it works!_ The door leading to the Shrine opens, and "Bad Brad" avoids Black Mask, who was in The Gallows. And with two successful Temple Guard dodges, he enters the Shrine, grabs the staff, and all the doors are unlocked! With 1 minute and 41 seconds left on the clock, "Bad Brad" enjoys a nice brisk run to the exit! He flies through Cerberus, the Chamber of the Sacred Markers (which we see the door where Blue Mask was going to appear in was left open, lol), and then he leaps back into the Pit of Despair. Soon, he climbs through The Ledges, where Gold Mask directs "Bad Brad" to the exit. (Gold Mask can be heard saying "Keep going, Brad! You got this!" drowned out by Kirk's commentary) Soon, he climbs out of The Ledges, makes his way down the stairs, and with 1 minute and 24 seconds left on the clock... *_"BAD BRAD" PULLS OFF A PERFECT SOLO-RUN!!! SUN WUKONG COULDN'T HAVE DONE IT BETTER!!!_* THEY GET THE SKATEBOARDS... _THEY GET THE PLAYSTATION... _*_THEY'RE GOING CEDAR POINT!!!_* (ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT: During the credits, Gold Mask pops up from The Pit of Despair as the camera zooms in on the room, and he tosses some plastic balls at the camera, then gives the surfer's hand gesture before the Stone Stanley Productions logo appears.)
After a break from doing these, it's time for a new temple layout, featuring an entire refresh of the temple! Once again, rooms are being retired, but two classic rooms return, and two rooms become one again. So, Olmec, it's been a while, but take us away! (cue 0:00) You could start by entering the temple through The Lantern Room. Pull down on the ropes to light the lanterns, and a door will lead you down a staircase and... ...into The Pit of Despair! Here, you must choose from three doors to go on! You could choose to go upstairs... ...and into The Archer's Tower. Pull back on the bows, and one of the arrows will lock in place, which may take you down... ...into The Chamber of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right with the runes on the left, and the doors will unlock. That may take you below, or... ...lead you into... The Cathedral of Cerberus. *_BUT BEWARE OF THE TEMPLE GUARD THAT HAS POSSESSED ONE OF THE HEADS!!_* Reach into one of the three-headed dog's mouths and press down on it's tongue, to open the door... ... *_TO THE SHRRRRIIIIIIINE OF THE SIIIIILVEEEEEER MOOOOONKEEEEEEY!!_* Do whatever it takes to put that blasted statue together, and you may be headed... ... *_TO THE GALLOWS OF SORROW_* ... Pull on the noose to release the trap door, and climb down... ...into The Pit of Bones. You might climb up the ladder to escape... ...or plow through the wall, and into The Pharaoh's Tomb. Grab the key from the mummified hand and try to unlock the doors to go upstairs, or into... ... *_THE DARK FOREST_* ... Carefully make your way through the dense brush and confusing mass of trees, and if you escape... ...you may have a chance to enter The Serpent Queen's Throne Room. Sit upon her throne and press down on the arm-rests, and the doors will unlock. You could choose to go upstairs, or... ...if the other door is unlocked, you'll return to The Pit of Despair. ...Next, climb through The Ledges, race down the stairs, and back to the Temple Gates! *_THE CHOICES ARE YOURS, AND YOURS ALONE!_*
