Yes - And You and I (Cut)

Hi there! Not only am I a massive yes fan but I love this song inside and out. Every note! I came across a Netflix series called The Decameron which utilized And you and I during its first season in episode 6. I didn’t really like how they chopped it up and thought someone could do it better. So I decided that someone was me and got cracking. My whole concept was “keep the most essential melodi...

Yes performing excerpts from each movement of Tales From Topographic Oceans at Bethlehem Performing Arts Center. This video contains excerpts from the first 2 movements. Being that none of The Remembering has been played live by Yes since 1976, this occasion is momentous. The Remembering - 4:29 No carping about Jon Anderson in the comments. Jon Davison does an incredible job. I OWN THE FOOTAGE....

Nice cover! Could you do a tutorial please?
@@Andermander429 hi! I certainly could try lol
Boss baby
This is really nice!
@@alonelybunny1824 thank you bunny!!
@@joeywisedrums Aww no probs! The lyrics remind me of two things. 1) A character I'm working on today. 2) You, me, and every other artist trying to get their creativity through the door. Hopefully, all the little black birds can find their way. With that being said, keep playing!
@@alonelybunny1824 wonderful I love that! I heard Paul say when I saw him that he wrote this song about the civil rights movement in the 60’s, very resonant for today!
@@joeywisedrums I never knew that! I did hear however, that they refused to play at segregated audiences because they found it to be ridiculous. That makes me feel happy!
@@alonelybunny1824 thats true! They refused to play to segregated audiences. America right 😂
awesome dude!

I know this song! I don't listen often because though I love the lyrics, the singing itself isn't always my favorite. I love your take on it much better! I'd be so happy if you made a full cover! I'd play that version at my wedding! P.S. Don't look at the camera like that after singing such a sweet song! You're making me blush!

Best band, ever. Period.
Уйти вовремя со сцены это тоже талант, но очень хочется кушать...
Looking forward to the show in Illinois. Nice to hear the music from Tales, however I find the transitions to be a bit jarring. Would have preferred a full track.
Do have the second half
Stopped filming during the ancient, my father got the whole thing
will your father recording ever be posted @@joeywisedrums

Thanks for filming vertically to capture all that black space top and bottom instead of the stage.
Thanks for being an asshole and assuming that my camera works. I posted what I got from my shitty broken iPhone camera. Be happy there’s any footage at all, dickless.
It's some messy Tales teaser, not a medley. What a fuc*ing lame disgrace to treat that way such a good album.
I love the deliberate humour in the medleys first musical change: "what happened, to the song, we all knew so well" Nice touch.
thanks for posting! How was Cut from the Stars?
Incredible! Great live piece, although the ending left people slightly confused on where to clap.
@@joeywisedrums Good to hear, I only wish they did more from the new album, I've really been enjoying it!
@@nintendo64isking I wish they would’ve kept all connected in the set personally
Mirror to the Sky seemed like an obvious closer. They should have just done one complete side of Topographic. Medleys are always so jarring
@@Relayer526-mi4wt I agree. They should’ve done the remembering, and All Connected. I love that track off of mirror
What in the heck? I didn’t think Steve liked doing bits & pieces of songs. And this is disjointed as Hell! Almost every transition is a mess.. WHY??
First night of the official tour. Second show. It makes sense given that they have to remember the arrangement. It’s just the way she goes man.
Dissagree. I thought it sounded great with all the Tales highlights and refreshing not to hear the entire long winded Ritual for the upteenth time. This is amazing in fact with it's clarity and performance. Haven't heard a Tales Medley like this since Howe's solo tour many years ago. This is the way it should have been done all along! Now I'm really looking forward to their performance here in Orlando, FL coming very soon.
As if they didn't rehearse? It goes deeper than that.....@@joeywisedrums
One challenge when any band plays a 'medley' is, that everyone is so familiar with what happens next musically, and it's often jarring to our ear as the familiarity is suddenly not there, and we're forced to think and connect things anew. I'm sure after a couple of listens, the changes will become more familiar and the reasons why these sections were selected more apparent. The Big Wembley medley was also strange at first, with re-written sections and key changes just to glue parts together musically so that they made sense. It's way more difficult to do this than you might imagine.
@@johnmorrell thank you!! Ive listened to a couple big medleys from 78 where it seemed everyone wasn’t on the same page. But those are kinda the best bc it’s Yes, in the 70’s, playing sorta like the dead 😂
Nice to hear some of The Remembering!
Wonderful. 😃 Band sounds reinvigorated !!!
Great to hear some of the remembering, at least the best parts. Davison sound a little out of tune to my surprise. I hope for more of the first part of the ancient. Is a medley, not perfect but a good excercise at leat to remember Tales. And, i insisted, is really great to hear the remembering again
I agree, great to hear the remembering. Davison sounded incredible throughout the night, but everyone seemed to be struggling slightly with the tales medley (seemingly besides Geoff, the unsung hero of the night). The choice to forgo the ending of Ritual (not shown here) was a sad one in my opinion.
@@joeywisedrums Geoff did a great job on the Topographic Drama album.... he does the Tales songs a particular justice.
@@joeywisedrums I was hoping to hear the "Starlight Movement/Sunshower Seasons" section of Revealing Science of God. Davison did sound very good..
First part of The Ancient would be great, because Steve plays less during the opening section. As long as Geoff could handle Rick's "Six Wives" style playing on that..
The beautiful work continues. Very much enjoyed that.
Hell yea thank you very much!! This was such a good show
