The Past in the present.

New Voxtrot music in 2024? My joy is immense and my day is made. And it's SO GOOD. Voxtrot's EPs and the self-titled album meant so much to me and helped me channel and process all this yearning and pain I felt as a confused, lonely, queer, autistic teenager in the late 2000s/early 2010s. I've returned to those songs again and again over the years, gaining new depth of perspective over time and understanding more and more about the lyrics, and thereby understanding more about myself - connecting the dots to see why that music spoke to me so powerfully back then (and still does now). This new brace of songs is just beautiful. I can't wait to get to know them over the next ten, twenty years as well.

Long time fan and just learned about this single (and new EP), and my jaw was agape from start to finish. The chorus is absolutely sublime. So happy you guys are back.

Sometime in the late '07 and early '08, I read in some English magazine that a new band sounded cool and unique. As a teenager who has tried so much to define himself as such, I'm determined to make this band my favourite (because some journalists say it is cool). The CD by a foreign band costs about a week of my allowance. When I saved up enough, it also took me an hour to get the train from my hometown to the city where the CD was available. When I got it, my finger lingered like a treasure, and I kept staring at the package the whole way back home. I hurriedly put it on at home and turned the stereo volume up. I listened to it around the first few tracks, but I didn't feel any cooler. I felt something else. Somehow, the lyrics are talking to me, telling me what to think and how to feel. The music makes me feel something I never felt before. I put it on repeat the whole night but didn't tell my friends about the new band I discovered, as they were already talking about other "cool" bands and competing on whose band was cooler. I didn't tell them about Voxtrot; I have kept them, my secret favourite band, ever since. It is so weird that a song from the band that debuted 20-ish years ago would make you relive the day in the past like it was a moment ago. Truly weird.

This one is really important to me. Your stuff is a huge source of hope for me right now. i rarely ever feel so understood by the music i listen to, but the themes in your lyrics always hit close to home. I'm really struggling at the moment, and even though I've learned to love being alive, it can be incredibly hard to keep pushing through. "And I'm just holding on, to get through tomorrow. I'm holding on, to live out my name. I'm just holding you, giving you my love, to carry us over the line." That part especially just reminds me what it's all for. Even when it's hard right now, i have to keep on living to see it through. I know that joy is possible, because I've felt it before. I won't give up without a fight. Really, thank you for all the beautiful music you've shared.

I don't think I have ever commented on a video I directed before but I'm watching this again at 1:43am during a production when I should be sleeping. I love this video and song so much. Everyone who worked on it did the greatest job. And I had no idea those wings of desire shots would look that good. If I did I would have cut to it like 5 more times!!
