Fix a Honda Visor that keeps falling out of the roof
Переглядів 24 тис.4 роки тому
I had a Honda visor that kept falling out of the roof every time I moved it towards the window. I was able to fix it with a 3/16th long 2-56 machine screw and a 5/64 drill bit, and saved the cost of a new visor. Anyone can do this with just a little patience. If this helps you out please leave a comment, it will make my day. If your not familiar with installing or removing a Honda visor, here's...
Removing/Replacing Honda Visor
Переглядів 383 тис.7 років тому
Here's how to remove/replace a Honda visor. This one happens to be for a 2008 Accord, but this type is used across many vehicle models and for many years. Edit/Update: I shot this in one take and never thought even 100 people would watch it. I'm amazed at the amount of views. Leave a comment if it helped.

    Thanks for this. Allowed us to get ours off our 19 pilot to try to get it to not be an arm wrestling match to get it pushed back up to the ceiling after lowering it. With some ingenuity we got the spring clamp to loosen and hopefully It will work like the passenger side one does.

    Blame Honda for this poor design. Replaced my 2014 Accord once already. Now time to replace it again. SMH.

    Thanks a million. Super easy to uninstall and reinstall a new one. This is the second visor in 30k miles so you think they would fix this issue. But thanks to you the labor is free!

      You mean the visor is sagging? No, not really a way to fix that. That's probably the primary reason the visors assembly needs to be replaced....It was for me

    Thanks for this video. That tab was a bit difficult pushing in. I started with a standard, small flat head, but then switched to an offset screwdriver which had a thicker head. It was still hard pressing that tab in, but I got it. I've owned a 1990 and 1995 Honda with over 250,000 miles and currently own a 2004 Honda with 257,000 miles. NEVER had this problem with any of those cars. Did Honda change the way they manufactured these visors for the 7th gen? Got mine at BK Honda for $125 (including tax). This is a fair amount of money for something that shouldn't have failed after 10 years (on my 2014 Honda Accord).

    Ok After all the videos on how to remove and install the sun visor yours was the best. So why is that? Everyone else’s visor video was basically the same but you said get a stool and place by the door. That made it possible for me to see the latch and see if it was turning. I had struggled for over a two hours last night. 😡🤯🤬 Then this morning I watched your video and had the old one out and the new one, it took about 15 minutes. Thank you so much.

    Easy peasy. Sunvisor in daughter's 2008 Honda Accord had been broken for several years. Finally had enough when I went to drive it yesterday. I came in the house, search for a video, found yours, went back out to the car to remove the visor, drove to the junkyard, pulled one out of a wrecked Accord for $7, drove back home and washed it up, then installed it. Process from searching the video to final installation less than an hour. Thank you!

    I still can't get it to release. Should I be able to feel the tab go in ? Do I need to push at an angle?

    • @rothbj1
      @rothbj1 8 місяців тому

      Is the tab going under the ‘wall’? It won’t release until then. Once it goes under you may have to wiggle it a bit. May also help to press upward, to release some of the tension.

    Man oh man, thank you kindly for showing me how to fix my darn visor!! Thing right fell in my lap like it gave up the ghost one darn hot day, and here I go putting my sweat, blood and tears into forcing the darn thing back into the hole it done crawled loose from, when what I really was needing was just a little fingertip finesse to ease the sucker into place, doggone it!!! Thank you again, good sir, for passing on this subtle, yet much needed knowledge to the Masses.

    Thanks for the easy explanation. I just had my 2009 headliner replaced. The installer must not have relatched the visor properly as it fell the first time it was used for the side setting. I watched this video and placed it back in, as described, being sure to push the visor toward the windshield. Now it's as good as new!

    I've had two fall out while driving (2010 Accord, 2018 RDX). The tab actually broke off in both cases. Kinda sucks but at least you can replace it yourself and avoid paying the dealer.

    This will be a silly question... but how do you rotate it back into place if the post is in place?

    • @rothbj1
      @rothbj1 Рік тому

      The post fits into a hole in the roof. Your rotating the visor back (like normal). This causes the 3 - pronged feature to rotate and lock it all up in the roof. Kind of like locking a deadbolt.
