"Greensleeves" on the Maccann duet concertina
This is a duet concertina arrangement of "Greensleeves" by Iris Bishop. Certainly not perfect, but at least starting to get there.

"Kristinas Sommarvisa" ("Kristina's Summer Song") - improved

A very much improved version of the Swedish folk tune "Kristinas Sommarvisa" ("Kristina's Summer Song") on my Maccann duet concertina, after several more weeks' practice. I'm quite pleased with this version, especially the bass arpeggio at the end 🙂. I need to do more work on the dynamics to get more variation into it.

Learning to play the Maccann duet concertina. This is "Fanny Power". Certainly not perfect, but it's starting to get close to what I was aiming for.

More baby steps on the Maccann duet concertina. This is an exercise from Wim Wakker's Hayden duet tutor book (which can very well be used for the Maccann, too), and is the first tune I've attempted with a melodic accompaniment - ie playing a tune on the right and left hand separately, which is really difficult! Much harder than playing the tune on the right and chords on the left. The simplest ...
"Da Slockit Light" ("The Extinguished Light")

This is one of my favourite tunes: "Da Slockit Light" ("The Extinguished Light"), written by Tom Anderson in 1969 as a lament for the loss of the tradional way of life on Shetland; every time an occupant moved away to find work on the mainland, or a crofter died, a light was extinguished. Played here on my Wheatstone Aeola tenor-treble concertina.

The idiot saying offensive and racist grow up and actually research what they’re about you complete and utter fool. They raise a lot of money for charity! Get lost 😡
Sounds lovely.
Offensive and racist😢
Offensive and racist 😢
If you havent a clue what your talking about do everyone a favour and stop displaying your ignorance.. The dance originated from the Cornish tin mining industry, where would you believe you get somewhat dirty.
Beautiful dude, keep it up
Super cool! I discovered them via Lester Bailey’s (Melodeon player) reference on Melodeon Net. Thanks! 🙂😎

just when you think you've seen everything!! Love the default coconuts -to-the-ears pose. Must be some history behind that.... wonderful stuff!

yes thats good I can play it but make some mistakes !!
Of course, these are all Tory MPs in disguise….😉
Well done. I can see you are pleased with that. Keep it up mate!
That feels like a long time ago. I'm a bit better now 😁.
Followed them for miles 75 years ago!
Sweet!
Currently practicing this one. My sheet music says a legato g to high e, did you have these two notes or similar legato ones one in your tune? When I play it it just sounds terrible in legato, haha.
My goodness, i just love your performance on this song, well done!
What's that? Don't you play accdordion or melodion anymore? Greetings from Germany
Certainly I do. But I play the recorder, too. There will be more accordion music soon - I'm busy practicing some new tunes.
Wonderful, keep our old traditions going , thank you so much , have a great time dancing and educating folk .
Meget smuk melodi 🙂
Nice sound. I would suggest you make use of both the bassoon AND the clarinet couplers to vary the sound.
👏👏👏
Meget smukt nummer 🎶

Excellent playing Chris
Great to see you learning and practicing sir. Can I make a suggestion to you.Check out some of your left hand bass and chords. A little modification makes the tune sound even better .Best regards
Well done Chris. 👏
Nice. Is that from book 2 of Hughes and Palmer??
No, this is a tune my teacher gave me to learn. I'm using PH for the "technical" tuition, but also trying to learn a repertoire of popular songs that are just fun to play, and this is one of those.
Very nice Chris.
Thanks!
Awesome! I like your videos.
Very nice! Keep up the good work!
