This is a short video of Mercury Marine's all new 115hp mid range fourstroke outboard. It is fitted to a Tornado Viking 5.8m rib and is fitted with a Laser 2 20" Pitch Propeller. First Impressions are astounding at how quiet, smooth and powerful this new engine is. This video is of the startup and acceleration onto the plane.

Hi -thinking of getting this motor to repower my 22 ft center console. How are you liking this motor?
You will love it. We have about 450 hours on it and it’s been flawless. So quiet and powerful brilliant engine.
@@peterwhite8206 Thanks for responding. So glad to hear that. Helps me in making a decision. Most people around here repower with Yamaha or Suzuki inline 4's 200HP. I like the idea of bigger displacement and I can get it a 225 that is actually same weight or slightly lighter.
You won’t be disappointed with it. It will outperform the other engines hands down and will be cheaper to maintain too. The dedicated 100 and 300 hour service kits are spot on. Good luck whichever way you go.
You could go 45mph and have a conversation with your partner
James Stotts absolutely. It’s so quiet all the way through the rpms. Even wide open the wind noise is louder than the engine itself.
What prop and size prop are you running
Fog Duker we are running a 21” pitch tempest prop. Getting 6008 rpm at WOT and 63mph.
@@peterwhite8206 Hi Peter fog here hey is that prop a 14 . 58 x 21 iam buying the same engine and installing it on a 20 foot deep v cuddy boat trying to figure props out. Thanks.
Fog Duker yes it is, however the rib is reasonably light compared to the centre console I’d say so maybe worth trying a 19” pitch. The enertia would be a good place to start I’d think.
@@peterwhite8206 thanks peter for that info.
Sounds super👍
Check out our fb page Swordfish Marine, some more videos on there. This engine is just awesome. Best outboard on the market by far.
Love to see more video if you have it.
It is the regular gearbox on this engine. We have since changed the prop to a trophy plus 19"pitch and now getting 44 knots at 6000rpm
BTW - is that the Regular version or the Command Thrust version ? Top speed ?
that is sweet !
