I'm just a fitness enthusiast who likes to woodwork.
In these modern times, home gym equipment is at an all-time premium. Problem is, it's not always available, too expensive, or doesn't always fit your space or needs.
On this channel, I'll be building different pieces of gym equipment that you may have wanted in your home, but didn't know how to make. My goal for this channel is to inspire others to be creative, make something cool, and maybe get in some fitness while we're at it.

2 - 4x4x8 PT Lumber
2 - 2x4x8 Stud Lumber
1 - 3/4"x3' Black Pipe
2 - Felt Pads
1 - Door Hinge Pins (4 pack)
4 - 3.5" Door Hinges
4 - Zinc Hook Gate Latches

GENERAL CUT LIST
Vertical Wall Rack Beams (2) 4”x4”x6’
Cross Pieces (4) 4”x4”x11”
Horizontal Wall Mounts (2) 2”x4”x46”
Bar Mount Blocks (4) 2”x4”x7”
Galvanized Piping for Bar Mount (4) ¾”x9”
TIPS
Using felt pads instead of caster wheels works just fine and is cheaper.
I recommend using simple hook gate latches instead of the touch catches I used in the video. The hooks are much cheaper, easier to install, and provide a more secure locked position. I switched them out about a month after this build and they work great.
When drilling the holes for the vertical beams, I used a 1-1/8" spade bit. This ended up being a little too snug. I recommend drilling your holes to be 1-1/4" if you use 3/4" piping for the bar mounts.
Instead of using Foundation Straps to secure the hinge braces, you can use the left-over 2x4 lumber (Appx: 5') and cut some right-angle triangles to secure the Wall Rack Beams. Use 3" screws to secure in place. Be sure to pre-drill your holes so the triangles don't split when screwing them in.
I hope this helps everyone!

Sup bro just watched your vid. Dam got me motivated to build 1. Awesome shit
You know what you get a follow. I dig it man. I’m gonna try it out.
Wow no pull up bar???
What kind of router bit do you use?
Great job I’m definitely gonna build my own just one question. How do you measure for when you fold it in without it hitting each other and being perfectly spaced apart so it folds in Nicely??
Inspiring, well done.
Not now with lumber price
Lumber prices are crazy right now. Foldable GHD Or soft plyo box
Foldable GHD/Reverse Hyper build is in the works!
Dude, I'm working out the plan of my own squat rack. I had settled on the design... and you just complicated it all over again.
Did you have any issues with the 4x4 starting to split months later?
Mounthatsumbitch!!! Lol!
This dude is fucking genius by far best diy squat rack on youtube
Is there a cut list, materials and cost break down anywhere bro? Really fancy recreating this! Also keen to see you create anything that is a space saving home gym solution 👍🏻💪🏻
This guy is underrated. He's gonna be big one day
Also a great for “savesies”
great video! you're a beast
Very nice
Cool video boss. Watched a lot of foldable squat racks and I think I like this one the best so far. I got bored one day a threw together a rack made out of wood myself... think a lot less nice than yours lol. Check it out! ua-cam.com/video/qaY3bRLpj1Q/v-deo.html&ab_channel=iamjacobsexton Gave you a subscripe. Hope to see more wood projects!
Great build.
Other ideas: -Functional trainer/adjustable cable cross -wall mount folding GHD
Folding GHD/Reverse Hyper is in the works! Also plans for cable machine are made and are on my to-do list!
Great work on the build, and even better work out! Keep up the good work
Anyway you can add measurement summary and cost of wood for this build ? I want to try to get it built this weekend
Hey Samantha, sorry I took so long responding. I added a comment with the materials and cut list I used. Hope this helps!
@@wood2wod619 I can,t find the measurements in the comments
I love this !
I’ve watched a ton of these foldable racks, this is by far the best one!! Great info and clear instructions. I personally don’t have much space at all, just enough for a foldable rack and bench, so maybe for the next project adding a cable crossover to the rack? That would be super helpful 👍 great job, and great dogs 💪
Thanks Tom! I was actually thinking the same thing. Also working on a video for customizable weight plates, which should pair nicely with making an authentic-looking cable system that fits within the footprint of the foldable rack.
Love to see a cable pull machine for lat pulldowns and back pulls!
