hey bro can you please tell where is caustic shadow option in blender 4.2.2lts version , please🥺
Hey are you talking about enabling it with your world settings/HDRI or with the water plane/pool base?
At the last image, where is your foliage from? It looks so good!
nvm im stupid. But wich pack number?
Thanks :) it’s the NZ plants pack, not sure the number soz!
I know I forgot to render out the final result guys 😂 my bad. I promise that the water in the thumbnail is what you get from the settings in the tutorial :)
I believe there is still time for you to edit and put in your final render result in the video.
@@CommonUser000what do you mean, should I repost this?
@@oliverhiggins8376 If possible, for the better quality.
Why the tutorial and the thumbnail is different?
They’re not really, the thumbnail is the end result in terms of water
Really nice video! You got my sub!
Thanks very much :)
nice explanation on how to make the pool to look realistic, viewport views are low quality a lot to be honest, also at the end of the tutorial a want to see the final result :)
Yeah I forgot to do that hahaha thanks for your feedback
why didn't you render it out after all that?
I did render it out, that’s what you see in the thumbnail
i love ur videos and ur work but pleaseeeeeee pleaseeeeeeeeeee lower the viewport samples and turn off noise threshold for viewport and use gpu compute instead of cpu for render, the viewport render slowliness is killing meeee, anyways love your work, all love and support :)
Hahaha my scene is too big to render with a gpu so can’t help there, but I’ll look at the viewport samples and noise threshold for sure :) thanks for your support!
please dont use that thumbnail to fool us... huge CLICKBAIT
What do you mean? That’s the render I made?
he literally shows you how to make the water in the thumbnail...lol the thumb is fine imo.
@@oliverhiggins8376 sorry mate, i just didn't see that thumbnail render in the video.. i don't know what you did after to get the result from the thumbnail, maybe it would be a good part 2. it's just very common now for creators to put clickbait thumbnails, hope you get it. but there's great effort in the channel i recognize, keep up.
@@euclois That's definitely a fair point, I'll remember that in my next one :)
Awesome tutorial man!!!
Thanks very much :)
I cant click the settings button in effects drop panel within da vinici resolve
Weird, are you talking about your color transform nodes?
how do i get get clients as 3d render artist can you please point me in the right direction. BTW love your videos keep em coming
This should help you :) how i got my first job in Archviz with NO experience (in a recession) ua-cam.com/video/MnDtXkjTRHk/v-deo.html
Yay DaVinci! After Adobe swindled me a few years ago with their infamous subscription cancellation fee, I refuse to use photoshop, and I like DaVinci as well and use .exr format. My color correction method is much more 'quick and dirty' lol but it works. Nice video mate!
Thank you for this awesome series
Glad you enjoy it!
This is awesome
Thanks :)
That was very helpful, thanks..
great overview! do you have any tips on making a rainy scene in blender, with wet surfaces and puddles?
Yup, you can make a node setup to mix into each of your shaders you are using that simulate puddles. You can also use a particle system to simulate the rain drops. Alternatively you could use “fog cards” where you layer transparent PNGs that have raindrops on them around the scene particularly where you have your camera to create depth
Great video to give a nice foundation of ideas for beginners.
Thanks man, thought this would help to cover a lot of the basics :)
Absolutely Love your Work, I have a question if you would please help. an advise, My BBA degree is about to finish In some months, but I don't like the field, I really like architecture and interior designing etc, Should I learn blender for architecture or not? i am not sure if this field will be relevant in the future or not, What would be your advise for me and others
Blender is super powerful for designing and showing architecture beautifully, but it’s just a tool. You have two or more potential careers that you could go down- you could work in architecture at a firm doing drawings and designs, or you could work as an archviz artist, rendering architects designs. So if you’re interested in architecture you could look into those?
@@oliverhiggins8376 Thanks A lot mate. Have a great day!
@@muhammadumair4392 You too mate :)
Hello Oliver, first of all I would like to thank you for your tutorials. This is my second tutorial from you which I'm trying to recreate. I think your workflow and approach are just perfect. Is there an alternative to your HDRI. I think it should be fairly sunny for this outdoor shot. Choosing a good HDRI is very important for the final result. Thank you very much for your tip and I look forward to further tutorials. Best regards Robert
Thanks for your comment, you can find plenty of HDRIS on polyhaven, and just filter by sunny/high contrast :) make sure to experiment lots, and let me know how you go
What graphics card are you using?
RTX 3070, but I mostly render with my average CPU (i9 7700k), 64 gb ram
I am trying to follow the playlist but I’m confused because it is not in order. Can you please reorder it properly? Thanks.
Hey thanks for that, the playlists are pretty buggy sometimes. Could you check it again?
Hello, where could I buy the course for this video lesson?
You don’t need to buy it! It’s here for free ua-cam.com/play/PL2lJYQQ0WxTTBlsLgm6dtqiNyxtdQL_VS.html
why dont u use normal light instead of emission materials?
Because I like to see the light source
may i join the discrod? the link is expired it says "invitation failed"

Excellent video! Honing your skills to get a small sample of QUALITY renders is such a good point! And your discord is such a fun channel! Keep up the great work mate!
Thanks so much for your support man! Much appreciated 😊 you’re a great asset to the community
Awesome and extremely helpful top tips! Nice maaaan!
Haha chur bro!!
I'm just a 3d artist wanting to get into archviz, should i have a degree on architecture to enter into archviz?
It can help for sure but not necessary at all! A good understanding of architecture is really gonna help though
@@oliverhiggins8376thanks for the reply
Thank you, the tips you gave enlightened me.
Glad to hear it :)
Love your tutorials and your work. Eagerly waiting for more...

Great video,,, me keeping the 3Dshaker packs in mind for the next Black Friday sales!!
Great idea!
That was some very important tricks you shown us. thanks for explain us.
Glad it was helpful!
What's your PC specs?
I7 7700k, 64gb ram, Rtx 3070
Why blender still need geometry for displacement when other render engine just do this in a single plane with one click. Even they have micro-displacement feature.
Potentially engine limitations or potentially limited development given the fact that it’s open source and free. No reason to complain about something that’s essentially just a labor of love at this point buddy.
I’ve just found it’s the best way to do it. Adding subdivisions manually first then doing a subdivide modifier can work well too
Hope you get more views bro i want you to continue making these vedios
Thank you mate :)
I live a simple life Oliver posts a video, I like before I even start watching The best Arch viz tutor ever!🎉❤
Aw thank you! That means a lot to me :)
How can we follow your steps when we have your camera recording in the bottom right corner? I can't see your steps because of your records. Thank you, your content is really nice but this point is necessary. You can try setting your camera recording to the bottom left, maybe it will be better.
Thanks for your feedback, I’ll look at that for my next videos :)
this is a great tip. Thanks a lot man
No problem!
Hey, i think your audio levels are a bit low! Not too extreme but softer than other vids, just a heads up.
Hey that’s good to know, thanks for the heads up 🙏
Nice. I wanted to know if all the renders on your instagram profile are done in Cycles. Cuz they look amazing.
All in cycles :) thank you!
yay! new video
Hope you enjoyed it!
Hey man! I just wanted to say that I love your videos! It's really cool that you go through the process start to finish. It helps a lot for people like me who don't know the whole workflow or struggle in particular areas. So thank you and keep up the great work!
That’s great to hear you find my full process useful! It’s what I always wanted when learning so it’s always nice to hear
Thx for your work and This tutorial can u tell me whats si your hdri u used ? =)
Yup you will see that in the hdri episode :)
Yup you will find that in the HDRI episode :)
@@oliverhiggins8376 oh sorry I suck 🤣.. I didnt see it in the playlist ! Thx for the answer
"pass - par - toot" You're welcome hahah
Nice one! If you are using Blender 4.1, they enabled gpu support for open image denoising, which many (including myself) find to work better in the render than optix, but what's an even better thing about that is you can use if for viewport denoising and it's pretty good.
Oh that’s super cool, I can’t believe they did that. Good to know, thanksb
Nice work! you probably know this, but if you press B after G and axis, a box appears to select the snapping point, then you can snap it after that. so for example press G,X,B, pick snap, snap! Yatzee! haha. Idk if I told you this before, but your use of ctrl to snap was something I didn't know before watching your videos. So simple, yet it's a lifesaver! Thanks!
Oh that’s good to know! That’s for the heads up :)
very helpful brother keep it coming
Will do:)
