Curious about what each graphics setting does?
● I was too when I bought the game five months ago, but I couldn’t find any videos online comparing the settings to help me choose the best ones for my computer.
● Now, you don’t have to wonder anymore! Use this video to compare the settings and adjust them to find the perfect balance between visual fidelity and performance.

Amazing 🤩👍🏼
This video is actually amazing, great editing and super easy to understand. I just have one question, what is the program you are using to see the performance/fps?
Outstanding work! Great informative video!
arma 3: i dont care what GPU you have i just need your CPU arma reforger: i dont care what CPU you have i just need your GPU
Could not describe it in fewer words
Great vid holy moly
well done sir.
Hey, sorry to be that guy but i aint getting much help by other ppl, i m looking for a cpu/gpu combo that can allow me to run this game at high/medium settings at 1080p (framerate between 70-90fps would be good i guess). Doesnt have to be EVERY setting at high but just a nice combo of visuals and framerate. Thanks in advance!
Anything similar to a 4060 will do the trick, mine is a 3070 and it is a decent GPU for Arma. For the CPU, an intel i5 12400 or better will work fine or the AMD ryzen equivalent. The AMD x3d CPU's would be great. If you are on a budget -> the new intel B57-B80 are good, anything like a rtx 2070, 2080 or anything above rtx 3060 and AMD equivalents You would be running on 1080p so you would be fine with the budget cards
@@thepurestchaos thank you very much man i was suggested a rtx 4070/rx 7900gre and ryzen 5 7600x3d so that i could make an investment for future games or more demanding additions.
@ Really depends on the budget, that is a more than a capable build for 1080p, it will be future proof for sure
I found this video before I had to leave for work. I watched it at work and now I'm home and went over all this shit for the past bit and it's looking so much better 🎉 I saved this and liked it.thqnk you for the time and effort you put I to making this. I read the comments while I was at work to see what other thought ❤
I am more than happy to help!
Best benchmark ive ever seen by FAR
💪💪
i have a 3060 with a i7 i believe, i have it at 60 to 40 fps but i feel like i should be able to at least make it look better
The issue with most engines is that when you put the graphics settings on the lowest preset, it offloads most of the processing to the CPU, and almost nothing goes to the GPU. This is why you get better performance with higher quality settings on some things.
The one thing that I think is missing from the test is comparing the render target quality setting while looking down a 3D scope, since 3D scopes are picture-in-picture. Otherwise, fantastic work!
The 3d scope fps drain is insane. I go from stable 100 fps down to 70-65 fps.
14:34 so basically what the f. this is straight up an exploit.
Grass distance aswell, but that's up to the developers to tweak. Also, server owners can put a minimum grass render distance, I wonder if they can cap distant shadows aswell
What about texture detailed or is that link with terrain detail?
Yes it is! Check the graffiti at the walls 11:15
@ ok thanks and yea I seen the graffiti that why I asked
This is great! Thank you so much!
You are welcome!
good to see its not my computer having issues with the 'environment quality' setting - went from 80fps > 50fps on my 1080ti and immediately knew ultra was out of the question for that setting ... whats wild is high looks nigh on the same, maybe a 5-10% fidelity increase for 54%! performance loss!
Exactly, the performance loss is huge!
What resolution do you play in? In struggling to get above 55fps with a 1080ti on 3440x1440
@ I play in 1440p. That card is a legend, but it is showing it's age now especially if you use 1440p, I recommend lowering the resolution or maybe cap the fps and use Lossless Scaling frame generation
What beautifully edited piece of content here @purechaos.
Thank you!
it takes a powerfull gaming pc but man that game looks incredible good. love it. I will try your settings on my slightly undervolted and slightly overclocked 6750xt on 1080p and see if its still fast enough online. great work. best graphic settings video i have seen!
Thank you so much for the in depth video, this probably will save me so much time and allow me to get much better expirience, thanks again, insane your channel only has this amount of subs considering the quality of the video.
Hi there, thanks for the feedback It is my first and only video so It's understandable 😅
I seriously couldn't ask for a better video this is perfect
Even if I put all settings to low this game still runs like complete shit. Even on a fresh install of Windows 11. Even tried it on Bazzite SteamOS. I have a 12900k/32GB/RTX 3080 12GB.
Many things can be the problem here: -Does the same happen for other games? -Did you download the Nvidia drivers? -Are you using the CPU's GPU (integrated GPU) instead of the Nvidia one? -Did you plug the HDMI / DP cable in your motherboard instead of the graphics card?
So what is the best settings for a balance between visual Fidelity and framerate.
Really depends on the GPU, that's why I made this video so you can compare the likely performance hit on your machine for each graphics. Spend some time on the settings so you can have the perfect graphics settings for your machine as some graphic settings have a huge performance hit but some don't and make the game look good
good video the music was a nice touch for this chill setting guide
Thanks! I've credited the creators of the music in the description, they did a great job
Wow best graphics settings video I've seen in my life!
Having played a lot of DCS I figured the cloud details would be a big hit to performance but not THAT big. Shocked at how much the high quality clouds crushed the performance.
Yes, it's not that much of a visual improvement and it completely tanks the fps
Can you do this for uhhh..all video games. Thanks 😂
haha, some people recommended me some games to do it but I simply don't have them
would you recommend these settings for a 7800x3d and 4080 super? i havent really had an issue with fps, it has more to do with stuttering
The settings I'm using? Yes, i do recommend If you have a 1080p monitor I would go 100% render scale, if not try to see if you have good fps even with a 1440p monitor on 100% render scale to take advantage of the monitor high refresh rate
@ I will be testing out these settings later on today thank you!
Insane benchmark quality holy shmolly
You legend. o7
great video!!
amazing vid
No, you're amazing
FANTASTIC video. Subscribed just for this man, Thank You.
who on earth run this game in ultra its impossible
yeah really impressive how much in depth you went! :)
Absolutely amazing fantastic work 👏
Thank you very much!
This was amazing, thank you so much! ❤❤
Thank you. Fantastic video, this will help my fps
Dude ignored the guy in front of him blasting music just to shoot me
What is your opinion in frame generation options like FMF2 (fluid motion frames 2) for "newer" amd cards? i was able to go from 100 fps unstable (sometimes more sometimes less) to almost perfectly stable 165 fps. the added latency is noticeable but its reported as only 8 ms by the driver, (i suspect its around 20 ms in practice and based around my calculations). i achieved that by limiting the fps to half the refresh rate of my monitor (82.5) and then enabling that option to generate x2 the frames. got the most stable config with those enabled , the added input lag is there but much more consistant so i think its more managable than it spiking all the time
I have never used AMD therefore I can't formulate an opinion, but sacrificing a bit of latency for better FPS can be good - user preference. Console players would love that option. I don't know if it is possible to use on games that do not support it, but Radeon Anti-Lag or something similar could reduce latency a bit
Short bus let them out on the front lines
This should have WAY more likes, superb! and how it should be done. This must have taken ages...
Wow niiiice work thanks a lot it's more clear for some settings, Thanks !
thanks for the video, it was very helpfull for finetuning my config
awsome video
Well done!
Thanks!
Great job man! First game I’ve played with my 30 series card where I’m starting to look at optimising as best I can.
Fantastic work
Thank you for this guide.
