This sound like a wonderful solution. What is the projected timeframe for this project. How long will it take to complete the project from construction start to completion? Will the bridge replacement portion of this project cause road closings and if so how long will be roads be closed as bridges are being replaces?

I would have liked to see them keep the same classic design

So we can't add ramps to an underpass for the multiuse bicycle/pedestrian trail because it does not exist now. But, we can add wider lanes and a turn lane for automobile traffic because? because it does not exist now either? All of the descriptions of detours are pedestrians oriented. This is great if the multiuse trail were only used by pedestrians. What is setup out there right now is not cycling friendly (certainly not for those that cycle with a disability). When will cycling be taken as a serious form of transport in this town? This route takes many bike commuters to the medical center. I guess the solution of "the parks department will come in after this project" says it all. This project team believes biking is for recreation. Sorry folks cycling is a lifestyle. I ride that trail 5+ days a week. Get it right Houston. May your project have countless, massive change orders. I hope the parks department is willing to quickly correct your chosen oversights and provide the result of what looks to be a properly planned project. Oh. And don't tell me the time for comments is up. I didn't see you on the trail, even once, talking to people who actually use the bayou paths for their intended purpose. But, then again, who cares what taxpaying citizens who live in the watershed area think.
