The belt with ridgids is called a serpentine belt.

This was extremely helpful, and I was able to do it myself. Only issue was your head was in the way when you showed how the belt went in. So I was finally able to get it, but you go around the two outer pulleys and go over the middle pulley with both sides of the belt. Only works if you pull the middle one out. Does involve slight pain and much swearing, but I, a single mother, paid $30 in brushes, grease, and belts, which I got off amazon and were not stiff, to fix my seized up bearings in my brushes which then caused the belt to break.

@rcaldwell I really appreciate your time and efforts to show the proper installation for the belt replacement, I was very hesitant to attempt this because after removing the screws the carpet cleaner still seemed to be strongly sealed. the ballast does not fail because of water splashing up. it fails because of condensation inside of the headlight housing which then falls down into the ballast connector. the ballast is sealed from the bottom but not the top. you can see at the end of your video that you have condensation inside of your headlight housing which caused your ballast to fail.

I appreciate this video thanks you saved me a ongoing headache the only thing I did differently was instead of cutting the end of the connector I wired in a pigtail so that way in the future I can replace the light without cutting it again

Why are we using house connectors on cars? Those blue twist connectors are for houses not cars, they make heat shrink connectors for cars..

Thanks for showing the belt number! After digging around I found a decent-looking belt from D&D PowerDrive on Amazon for $3.59 and bought a few. Apparently these break frequently. The belt number can also be 360--3M-06 (the 06 is for the 6mm width). Hope they don't break TOO frequently, bc it's a pain to remove all those screws, and I was afraid of breaking the plastic casing when separating the halves. But now that I've done it once I'll be more comfortable next time. Thanks again!
