This movie definitely has people divided… I’ve heard really good things and really bad things. Great review!

I think a lot can be said about the lore of vampires as it has been established over time. See, Dracula by Braum Stoker was a classic novel about a mysterious inhuman being that would subsist on human and animal blood alone. Over time it became pretty boys with glitter skin wanting to play baseball. That’s what America is all about, baby! Vampires and baseball. 🦅

This review went by too fast!

The tv studio is a metaphor for the universe. In the show the strict control to prevent him discovering his world is not real makes sense. In the current universe we are living in this metaphor doesn't make sense. The control we experience here seems more to make us want to realise the world isn't real and desire to leave as Truman did. However having studied religion and vedic philosophy this control does not end with liberation from the material world. Which begs the question as to why such heavy control and restriction is placed on the individual. Also none whatsoever is placed on the metaphorical tv producer. The individual has absolutely no recourse to escape this oppressive control. You'd have to consider that the tv producer has some kind of malignant mental disorder. When lies like this are told it usually because the truth is less appealing. Why would they pose it as the control being to prevent him from leaving rather than to make staying unbarable? It could be an attempt at reverse psychology. If something is hidden, that would be because it is something desirable. Since the reality is the opposite then the opposite would be true. Leaving would not be so desirable. The hypothetical girlfriend is irrelevant. She is actually the tv producer. He is the "creator" and she symbolises God. They are just different forms of same person. Since the tv producer is shown to be such an oppressive and ruthless character, why should Truman be attracted to the girl? They seperate the two so that she can distance herself from her tv producer role. The TV producer is portrayed as undesirable and the girl as desirable. But they are the same person. That would be like having a relationship with a gestapo officer. While at work they act oppressive toward you in the street. Then at home they are nice to you. They are not at all a nice person. The fact the movie is being deceptive about it is confirming this point. Why is there one direction to go? Why would someone want to put every obstacle in your way to follow the predefined path made for you? That would make my role irrelevant. You could script a bot to take my place and I could go live on an island somewhere eating coconuts and fish. I know coding. Give me a movie script and enough time and I could script my replacement, and go off and have some peace for these guys. Don't get me started on karma. That is obviously bullshit. Truman is clearly a decent person so why would he have such terrible karma? I know the universe would try to convince Truman he is an extremely evil person as a catalyst for his transformation but clearly he isn't. Then the tv producers tactic would be to introduce an unknown prebirth evil he committed to explain his terrible treatment. So obviously bs. Since every other character in the show is not a real person then the whole system of reincarnation and karma is not actually applicable. That system is based on the idea that everyone on earth is materialists and constantly being reborn until they escape the wheel of birth and death. As Truman did by walking out the door. Since Truman is the only real character and his only option he is given is to be a devotee then the whole reincarnation and karma is nonsense in this universe. As you are currently portraying characters from a western country you are able feign ignorance that you don't know anything about karma. Therefore you can throw the word out there and don't need to address this obvious plot flaw. If this was a vedic story he may be given a token crime of disrepecting a Brahmin in a past life who was at the time in disguise. So he was unaware he was committing an offense. The brahmin then curses him to be born into a life of low birth where his family and friends and well wishes all deceive and disrespect him. However it would be for the reader to understand that this is all pantomime and the character is just playing along. In those stories it is implied that other characters are either incarnations of God aka that chick.. or they are devotees merely playing a role. It is never expressly stated and the characters who are devotees are not actually in ignorance of that fact. Why in this story is it expressly stated that EVERY other character is not real? As though they are trying to let "someone" who is in ignorance in on the prank. So the idea "they" (this devotee who would understand the underlying meaning of this story yet was somehow in ignorance) thought that all other characters were materialists was nonsense. Philosophically in this case it would be he is a devotee of that chick aka God. He is therefore not a karma yogi and not the recipient of karma. His terrible treatment would be due to that chick aka God not wanting him to have an enjoyable time and forget about her. The constant karma references would be to make it feel like it is his fault. That is a catch-22 because for him to care about that chick she would have to stop being such an asshat first. Which is a condition and therefore not unconditional. That would mean Truman is at an impasse with that chick if he really thought it through. So why is he there in the first place? He wanted a holiday from that chick? He wanted some time for himself? He wanted a holiday for a while? What a horrible thing to want. So she grants him his holiday but instead that chick turns into a psycho bitch. I already know the reaction if the shoe was on the other foot. If she actually gave a crap she wouldn't mind him having time to himself without secretly making every moment of it miserable. She has absolute freedom and he has zero freedom. That is as far from an equal relationship as you could get. Studies show that sort of imbalance can only breed contempt. So there is no way Truman could walk out the door to "her". Your assurance that freedom exists outside the door is not realistic. It is far better for him not to leave and sit in protest of the absurd situation he finds himself in. As soon as he figures out that karma is a lie the game should end. The whole game is predicated on him accepting responsibility. When he realises he is not responsible, and everything he was told is a lie, there is nothing he can do. I came to that conclusion months ago and posted about it. The dude in the sun doesn't seem to agree and that lack of being reasonable and continuously trying to gaslight me with the karma angle, makes me question whether they are actually a person. Maybe the man in the sun is actually a bot I created and I didn't count on my figuring out that karma is a lie. So there is no contingency in that case and I just have to wait for death to fix that bug in the system. That would make you guys bots too and therefore unable to offer any applicable information to my predicament. But that other show, that was obviously directed at me, described a blackhole in a game where the story can not progress. The only solution was to reset the game. So if it was me that pre-scripted everything I already knew I would hit a blackhole. Why would I do that? She does that to return in an alternate universe to finish the game. I can't wrap my head around that. So I am the only person that actually exists. I created a universe to present some unattainable "other" to chase. Only at the end to realise they don't exist. At least for a while I wasn't so lonely. That sucks. That would explain why there is only one direction to go. There is no sentient being at the helm that can deal with an improvised storyline. Which would make the strict control imposed by the system a technical consideration rather than a philosophical one. Which would mean if I do leave the Truman Show I would presumably have absolute freedom. But that begs the question why would I write such a terrible story for myself? Couldn't I jazz it up a bit? Which means that the me outside this false reality knows something I don't know. I am afraid to find out what that is. If I make the story more exciting perhaps it becomes evident too quickly that the rest of you are actually bots. That would make sense. When everyone is by default bland af then my mind accepts it as normality. Like McDonald's coffee: If you expect mud you get coffee, if you expect coffee you get mud. Also when he meets his target bot she is scripted to have much greater atractive qualities than the rest of the boring twats. To direct the desire more firmly onto her. I definitely need to design more realistic bots to remedy this glaring issue. Obviously I can do better. I was completely fooled though. A few years ago it was revealed to me that everyone on the planet was the same person playing different roles. In a way that was irrefutable. It is difficult to forget and ignore that. It was done in a way that showed everyone was already aware of this. It was also implied that I too was the same person as everyone else. That didn't make sense. How we could be the same person yet others had an awareness that I didn't? So I resolved to ignore that bit and assume everyone is the same person with the exception of myself. I can now write that off as a Alice in Wonderland script I wrote into this preprogrammed reality to give myself a riddle to solve. Note to self: This is the time I should program some cheat codes to drop into my lap that I can entertain myself with while waiting for the rest of the game to play out.
