Australia Benefit Dinner 2024
On Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the American Australian Association hosted its much-anticipated Australia Benefit Dinner at the International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) in the vibrant Darling Harbour. The event marked a triumphant return to the city, gathering business leaders, government officials, scholars, alumni and influential members of the community to celebrate the enduring relationship between Australia and the United States. The purpose of the evening was not only to strengthen the US-Australia partnership but also to raise vital support for the Association and our scholarship programs, which have awarded almost US$18 million in funding to more than 1,100 scholars since 2002.

Are you with me Bazza😜
Well, that's me sobbing uncontrollably into my pillow after looking up how old he is now. 🤦🏼♂️
Lovely ❤
Absolute genius. Fantastic comedian, great man. RIP Barry Humphries
Great interview. Love Geraldine's writing!
Thanks for making us laugh God bless your soul
I wasnt expecting lachlan to come on stage lol
Love this song! First time hearing
Should have been delivered by Sir Les, as anything else would have been too subtle.
Went to his show in Glasgow, he,she was fantastic.
This is exactly what I was hoping to find, Barry impersonating Edna ❤
Thank you for your silliness, your genius, & all your years of entertaining us. You've made this world a brighter place and we all love you for it thank you so much God bless you. RIP we cannot forget you and watch you over and over again love you forever, amen❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
He really was a great entertainer and will be missed by many of us here in the US. And may I say this is the first time I seen him jump into character from just himself and it’s sort of an affirmation and the finale of a fireworks!
Great info thanks ladies!
R.I.P Barry Humphries
Thank you
My father showed me Men at work when I was 8 I am 21 now and I still listen to this band . Father showed lots of good music from a few years ago and I appreciate it alot, music these days don’t the same justice but I don’t hate it , everything goes through evolution.
Barry is soooo clear, sharp and humane and HILARIOUS- one of these people who, though deceased, still ( sort of } seems alive.....,a little bit thanks to UA-cam!
Never Forget the ANZACs 😭 🇦🇺
The funniest female comedian ever
I’ve never seen Barry play Edna without full costume. This is awesome.
AUSTRALIAS GREATEST LOSS.
An AUS USA association. Yuk. Aussies have always been to close to yanks. Oz even welcomes yank nuclear warships into its harbours. In NZ we banned all nuclear warships.
He’s missed no one like him
Wow! I've never seen him mix Barry and Edna
What a fabulously talented man. You lighten up our lives with your humour and talent. Thank youx
There hasn't been many world class cpmedians come out of Australia, none who surpass Barry. Miss ya mate
Very Nice...
The best comedian ever
R I P BARRY HUMPHRIES
One of a kind... He will be missed. RIP Barry
This man had perfect timing which of course is the secret of being an outstanding standup. Loved the impersonation of himself.
Yank here. How is it possible no one laughed when he said "dressed in rich poetic raiment"? This is classic Edna irony! Thank you Barry Humphries for blessing us all with a lifetime of wit & laughter.
The way he changes when those glasses go on ❤
Saluting a monster
A masterpiece & why longevity
Oh dear! Barry Humphreys has just slipped a long way down in my estimation. I learn he's a good friend of those dreadful Murdochs.
You, are a part of the cancel culture u don't like...
legal demais mane
When the world list Barry they lost a great great entertainer - I saw him perform and he was so entertaining - God Bless
Barry Humphries !👏👏👏
A great entertainer and pure comedy with the late and dearest Barry Humphries.
Barrys passive/ aggressive comedy is absolutely without peer. What a genius.
Dame Elizabeth Murdoch has her Cruden Farm around the corner - from where I live. Lachlan is not to my taste unfortunately. Greenie. Leftist and a Dullard compared to his Father or his Father's Mother.
I think Barry’s longevity and massive popularity is due to his immense wit, and comical put downs, without ever resorting to vulgarity. It was clean genuine fun, using innuendo’s and double entendre’s to maximum effect! Not necessarily seen in this clip mind. But it showed his skill and talent. Barry will definitely be missed, as he was one of a kind.
RIP. Wasted on an American audience
Not wasted on all. I for one will remember him fondly. And will laugh for the rest of my life remembering his humor and wit. The world is a crazy place these days, and we all don’t quite get along like we used to. It will certainly be less joyful now that they have found Dame Edna a significantly better seat.
Foolish post.
Vale Barry Humphries.
Wow. Barry was 84 here. Amazing. He still had it at that age… RIP 💐
It's quite rare that someone can create a character that becomes it's very own entity. Barry had this exact gift of making himself and Edna, seem like two completely separate people. If you didn't already know he was Edna, you'd never assume it. RIP Barry. The world has lost a comedic, iconic genius. You're already a huge miss ❤
He could have prepared the reading of his poem a bit more studiously. But I guess he relied on his charm and his fame.
Which was considerable-this was live and not rehearsed. Silly comment...
What a lovely man. One of a kind.
