It's amazing how junior 'product' designers are in these scenarios. I can't believe designers are designing features without clearly articulating their rationale and intent, and the PMs are just telling them to do something without the same. The industry, even at the top level, has regressed so much in the last decade.

Eric might be a great Product Leader but as an Instructor he delivers poorly. No examples mentioned, no real life situations. All he did was repeat over and over in multiple fashions that "you need to know [something] but sometimes you won't". That advice is true for any trade, so pretty useless for the subject of this video: Data Product Manager. As for the interviewer, he did really good questions, very concrete and practical.

Why are there so many jump cuts. I lost confidence I was getting the intended message after about 5 minutes, and stopped watching. Who ever had the bright idea to jump cut this video like that needs to stop doing video work. wow....

Its such a great insightful session both in the perspective of questions asked and the multi angle perspective responses. I look forward to more such interactive sessions that helps us to actually question our very skills and approach towards product management.. and helps us divert our attention in different angles in order to be effective and productive and empowered for the role... I really appreciate his wisdom and the approach he brought in setting expectations and triggerus to question our own sometimes false misconceptions about our own strengths and try to gain more knowledge and keep learning in order to do the right things appropriate for the road ahead of us in that product management journey... Thank you Sir and Thank you host for providing such an intriguing session

Great video - I’m new to continuous discovery and opportunity solution trees so I’m absorbing as much information as I can... One thing I would love (if Teresa Torres is reading this), is some more concrete examples of what real OSTs look like. An issue that arises frequently in product teams is problem framing, and I think an OST could fail quickly if the OST isn't carefully written.

Your empowered teams model is misunderstood by a lot of product managers and they undermine product designers in their team a lot. Product manager should leave design to designers and not interfere in their work. The. Mindset that design is trivial or a product manager can design should be avoided. Empowered teams model definition of product designer needs revamp.
