    the ring doctor was going to stop the fight after this round because of Maciano's badly cut nose...if Rocky didn't stop Charles in this round he would have lost this fight !...when the going gets tough , the tough get going !

    So many singers already have performed this song. Alex Ruiz is the best. He sings without any artificial tone or forced attitude with so mutch passion, simplicity and virtuosity at the same time. The difficult parts he takes so easily and smoothly, very fascinating! He is the real star but seems to be somewhat apart and in the shadow.

    Think the ref counted him out on 7 now we all know that boxing was way more dodgy back then and fights could b thrown and refs bought but this was a bit blatant to say the least I’m not saying he would have one but surely eyebrows were raised on a 7 count out

    High drama...how do you storm out in round 8 to get a MUST KO over a fighter like Ezzard Charles cause your nose is split in two and they are gonna stop the fight after this round?...Amazing. You can see the urgency on Rocky and his will to over come Charles who knew he could win the belt if he could just survive. Both Legends!

    How many of those KO's came at heavyweight? Of course I'm obsessed with age, because WHEN you fight someone is more important than WHO you fight, as any boxing fan knows Is it impressive that Denis Lebedev knocked out a fat 43 year old Roy Jones and beat a 1 legged 40 year old James Toney for 12 rounds? Of course not. Do we view Denis Lebedev as the GOAT and a legendary hero for beating up these fat old men? Of course not, you'd have to be an idiot to. Kinda like people who praise Rocky.

    • @The_PainofBeingAMan

      pearcemark2. Fight was for HW title. Charles had every size advantage in this fight. In their first meeting, Charles was 32 years of age, Marciano was 31.

      WHY CAN'T SOMEONE PRAISE WHO THEY WNT INCLUDING MARCIANO.. ITS FUNNY CAUSE MOORE ..WALCOTT..CHARLES...LOUIS....WERE BEATING YOUNGER BOXERS PRIOR TO MARCIANO....THEN ALL THE BULLSHIT STARTS I THINK HIS ETHNICITY BOTHERS YOU... THINK MARCIANO WAS IN PHENOMENAL SHAPE..... PEOPLE CAN PRAISE WHO EVER JUST LIKE YOU.......AND TO TOP IT ALL IM A TYSON FAN 1ST

  • @pearcemark2
    @pearcemark2 11 років тому

    haahaha what the fuck are you talking about Rocky didn't have a better chin than Joe. Joe went to war with men much larger than him and took it all, even when the gigantic behemoth Foreman was dropping him he never went out. Meanwhile Rocky was getting put on his ass by 40 year old middleweights LMAO You can try to justify it any way you want, the FACT is, any fighter today whose best wins are 40 year olds from lower weight classes, THAT FIGHTER IS NOT CONSIDERED ELITE

  • @pearcemark2
    @pearcemark2 11 років тому

    uhh, you must be delusional There's not a single thing Rocky has over Joe Frazier besides a more powerful right hand, with their stamina and heart and toughness being undisputable but Rocky is smaller, slower, clumsier, easier to hit, much less accurate, not as powerful with his left, and most importantly of all, Rocky fought MUCH MUCH MUCH weaker competition than Joe Rocky never even fought a true HW in his title reign, he fought a bunch of middleweights who were 38, old and past it

    • @vinmed4707
      @vinmed4707 5 років тому

      DURING MARCIANO ERA THAT WAS THE WEIGHT CLASS AND HE DID FIGHT APPONENTS 200 POUNDS IM SURE IF HIS ETHNICITY WAS DIFFERENT HED BE A KING

    • @vinmed4707
      @vinmed4707 5 років тому

      Yes maybe easier to hit as you say clumsy that's fine we know he could go 20 rounds easy and could take a BEATING...each boxer has a style that was his I ll end it by he was GENTLEMEN and 49....0 it's still there.....good luck

  • @RetrofIex
    @RetrofIex 11 років тому

    Yes Rocky's fighting style and slugger style were based on Marciano. His "underdog" character was based on Wepner... but other than that, definitely more Marciano.

    not to distract from more serious and knowlegeble critiques of this actual fight..I always thought the Rocky film, which is a celebration of this rivalry, got it all wrong with the boxing sequences..Stallone more often than not swinging at full extention, usually at air. ..but it sure seems to have been part of Rocky Marciano's repertoire !? Amazing to watch this original material. Two Greats!!

  • @1bridlington

    Marciano was used to fighting a lot of under dogs really..when he met 38 year old Archie Moore he knew things were getting hard..he did say "if I have that much trouble with an old man,its time I packed in" and he did..Archie has the most knockouts of any other boxer...he was still fighting at 45...he was a real worrier..R.I.P. Archie..

    Reason I say Ali and tryson wouldve beaten him is due to for a start look at the weight difference.back then heavy weights were 2 weight classes of what heavy weight classes are now he was 15 here.amd only what 5.10? Plus there style was way off back then. Barely covering up ,swinging wide.this was basically a straight brawl. Ali woulda ripped his face open with jabs and footwork and tyson woulda been too fast and too strong.knockout by left hook.

      PEOPLE HAVE TO STOP COMPARING ERAS MARCIANO WAS GREAT FOR HIS TIME HE RETIRED 1956...PERIOD ALI ERA 10 YRS DIFFERENCE AND TYSON 40 YEAR'S....IM A TYSON FAN 1ST EVERY SPORT CHANGED FROM DECADE TO DECADE.... FASTER ..BIGGER ..STRONGER...AND SUPPLEMENTS TO ...I LOVE MANY FIGHTER'S ..ITS ALMOST LIKE SAYING WHOSE BETTER BOSTON BRUINS OF 1955 OR BOSTON BRUINS OF 1966 OR 1990 YA SURE I AGREE EVENTUALLY EVERYONE WILL LOOSE ...MARCIANO SAID AND FOLLOWED HIS IDOL .HE SAID IH LOUIS COULDN'T MAKE A COMEBACK NEITHER WILL I

    Marciano was a different beast all together. He had awesome balance, which is something that I believe is overlooked. And since he had no fear of another fighter's power he had no problem taking shots to get in his own, which means punching when the other guy punches, something many fighters are afraid to do. And no need to even mention his power. That being said I do believe prime against prime Ali would have beaten Marciano. I know what Ali said in that interview. But that's just my opinion.

    Actually, when Anton tells the store owner that the wager is for "everything", the guy DOES realize it's a life-or-death call, as can plainly be heard in his frightened tone of voice when he calls "heads". Great acting on both sides of the counter.
