Name Your Price
To often HIT studio owners are hesitant to reveal their prices when speaking to potential clients. In general our prices are higher than traditional personal training provided in big box gyms and we have the urge to launch into an explanation why. Instead, simply state your price without flinching and see what happens. Have confidence in your pricing and demonstrate it by stating it openly.

Indiscriminate versus discriminate weight loss
Переглядів 4,3 тис.3 місяці тому
When you create a calorie deficit you don't just want to lose weight, you want to lose fat. This is an especially important issue for those taking GLP-1 agonists. In the absence of a correct stimulus a significant amount of weight loss will come from your skeletal muscle. However, with a correct stimulus we can shunt almost all weight loss towards fat loss. This is why it is critical for those ...

Doing the Lion Diet that is being championed by Dr Jordan Peterson, daughter, Mikhaila Fuller, co-founder and CEO of Peterson Academy. I bring this up because of the success I have had with both switching to carnivore and doing this HIT protocol, for several years now. So there is a market potential there. Especially, with things I hear from Dr Casey Mead and her brother, mentioning that a Dr can prescribe, food as medicine. This administration is targeting, "make America Healthy again", championed by Bobby Kennedy. How do we get you involved in this Doug? Or, this entire HIT studio owners?

This is definitely something I noticed after reading Body by Science and starting HIT. After doing the reserve grip pulldown, which I do first, I was surprised to notice how much I felt it in my core and shoulders. What? Then I would do my pushing exercise and my shoulders were wiped out, having never done an overhead press or a lateral raise. After I do the lower body squat exercise I can feel it in my calves even though my heels don't come off the ground. No doubt when the intensity is high and the need is great, the body will look farther afield to get it done.

Good video! I have another idea for how to spilt it when your life gets stressful , which I’m about to try myself, instead of every 4 to 5 days make it every 7 days, and do a 4 day split (back day, chest day, leg day, arm day) And if your itching to do a second session in each week you can simply deload , do half the weight you normally do and far from failure in a circuit training workout, something you can do 30 reps but only do 10 is less stressful on your Cns and joints, doesn’t diminish your recovery if anything helps push blood to the muscles.

I don't understand how your video showed up on my home page, but this was encouraging to hear. I'm not a personal trainer. I'm a beginner working out from my bedroom. With the knowledge you just shared, I'm going to make the effort not to take for granted the training I'm doing and discipline I'm learning. This is indeed an arduous activity to add in my mid 40s. So I will remember what the trainers are going through and try to work as hard as I can to make them proud. Thank you :)

Doug I disagree. In all business and sales it's important to explain the value. It's not obvious to the general public. In all sales the price isn't even discussed until the value is explained. What you're saying is great if they're beating your doors down to get the service.

I always had a pricing sheet that broke it down like this: Single session - $70 12 session package - $720 (save $120) 24 session package - $1200 (save $480) People love discounts. This incentivizes clients to commit to the largest package for the most savings which not only saved them money, but gave them the best results.

I know many will disagree, but I still think, ‘first three workouts are free’ will explain everything to them. If they aren’t throwing money at you by the third workout, you didn’t do your job well enough. I know people disagree with ‘giving something away’, but it does work.

Couldn't agree more! I own a pricing strategy management consulting company so this is all that I do for a living. Don't be shy about your price! I'd also add, it's important you (as the business owner), have a price that you believe in. The more research and testing you do around your pricing model, the higher your conviction in it, which in turns impacts how you present it to clients. Love the work you do Doug!

Makes training more enjoyable to hear truths like this and be free from the prison of thinking that more muscle will come from the next greatest program or more volume, etc. I’ll never be that muscular at all, but I know I’m still deriving some very good benefits from proper strength training without being overly concerned about producing impressive muscle size. Thank you for your explanation

Hi Doc, i tried to do my first neck training today I layed my back on my bed and did the YES movement, I immediately felt like I wanted to throw up, feeling discomfort around my plexus area, and feeling slightly dizzy still 20 min after. Do I need to stop or should I continue this kind of training ? When I did the No movement it was much easier, it's really for the YES movement that the side effects I mentionned kicked in pretty much instantely and intensely, made me feel like an old man..

Alan Aragon has explained at length that seed oils are not inherently bad. It's when a single amount of seed oil is used for hundreds of consecutive cookings in the fast food industry that is bad. This is a big confounder in the field of research on seed oils. A single cooking with any seed oil does not appear to be more harmful than a single cooking with olive oil or butter. I encourage people to check Alan out.
