How to remove paint from leather safely without damaging the leather! Farm projects always leave a little extra mess. Painting the steps turns into more projects. Cheryl uses Citrol to remove the paint from her car seats and shows you how great it works! Props to Cheryl for finding the perfect advice! Hope this helps someone else.

I'm expecting delivery of a new compact tractor in a few days and i've been trying to figure out what I need to work on my 10 acres. I agree when you say there's better tools for the job. Also you asked a great question, "are you better off buying the right tool for the job. . . ." You're absolutely better off buying the right tool for the job. With the expense of shop labor and parts, or even if you do everything yourself, buying the right tool is always better, safety wise and financially. Thanks for pointing out the damage potential and wear and tear on the equipment.
OMG This stuff is $22 a can!
I drilled two holes in blade(remove hooks )
I think the hooks are a thing to have I use them to pick thing up with move them around nothing to heavy that might pull rear wheels off the ground and not for all day use just move
Well, since you have convinced yourself...don't put them on your bucket. For the rest of us...we can use them with no problem.
I appreciate you watching and commenting, but when you say "The rest of us" can use them with no problem, you lost any credibility with me. I personally know people that have had a problem. Maybe they're not the keyboard expert that you are but to make a blanket statement like you did? Shows me you really don't know what you're talking about. Also, I do have them on one my tractors and they do have some beneficial uses, but too often people with less knowledge and experience than you and "the rest of us" use them wrong.
What kind of paint was that? I'm trying to take acrylic paint off leather boots.
I don't really remember a brand, but it was a water based, interior house paint. Hope that helps.
thanks!
How about lifting something off a trailer when pallet forks won't work...? So lifting not pulling.
That's a good point. There are some uses where they're really helpful. I just hate to see someone damage their tractor, if they don't know what they're doing.
Bless you!
Bloody Hell!!! What a difference eh? Nicely done mate.
Thanks. It really does help. Also, I no longer have to deal with the headlights being blocked by the loader bucket or pallet forks.
@@stonehousebarn2737 With luck I'll receive my new Kubota with loader, this week. I'm already planning on overhead LED's (front & rear) to make things safe at night.
New subscriber here 😎👍🚜
Does this work on leather steering wheels?
At $46 a can the paint can stay on my seats 😂
Why you lying? $22.99 on Amazon right now. Edit: im in the USA
@thomasjefferson6334 why YOU lying? Its $61.20 CAD right now.
@@ChooseMyNam idk what CAD means, but in america, its $22.99 man
@thomasjefferson6334 How do you not know CAD? It's the currency of the country directly above USA..
@@ChooseMyNam i know alot, but not everything, my friend. Looking at it, its obvious now, but i wasn't certain.
Thanks baby. ❤
I have been looking at videos for ideas on attaching hooks. Glad I watched your video you made some good points. I think I'll still add the hooks but I'll be careful about how I use them. I'm going to go buy a draw bar too. Thanks.
Thank you for the video demonstration. I wanted to try this on an old leather bicycle saddle which had some house paint on it. I purchased this cleaner, and tried it. This stuff really works!
U sure u didn’t shat your pants
Lol. I probably did, after I saw the paint on the seat.
@@stonehousebarn2737 LMBO! GOOD ONE 😂😂😂😂😂!!! I will buy some today to try it. I bought a used vehicle that someone spray painted the seats and its peeling off lol. Hope it works and looks good underneath.
I can't say I've ever seen spray painted car seats. Not sure it's something I'd try. Good luck with the clean up, and check back after you try and let me know how it turns out. I'm interested to hear how it works for you.
@@stonehousebarn2737 thank you.
@@stonehousebarn2737 hello. I'm back! I tried it out and it worked great! Some of the spray paint came off very easy but some was caked on pretty bad and required A LOT of elbow grease. Some of the leaher looks great underneath! Some was a little worn, that's why they spray painted it. It would have been better if they left it alone in the first place! I used a sock for most of the job. Most of the driver seat, a little of the passenger, and the steering wheel. I also used a coarse shoe cleaning brush for the stubborn part of the driver seat.. bad idea 😆. I saw it was rubbing off some of the leather finish, so I continued with the sock. Overall I give this product 10/10! Very satisfied 😌 💪🏾!! Thank you for this video because I didn't know anything thing about removing paint from leather seats!
Thank yoi
they wanted over 200 bucks for lights and you still had to buy their connectors. We spliced into the stock connectors and put LED pods on my buddy's and did it for less than 80 total. Plus, their connectors are wired their way and to fit specific harness ends. Kubota lost me as a customer just based on that. Now he has rear work lights and next is a front lightbar.
I'm still planning to do the rear lights. Really happy with the front ones still. That $80 he spent was a pretty good deal.
Thanks!
We had a painter paint the walls in our living room and I noticed 3 small paint stains on my yellow leather couch. Do you think I should try this? I'm nervous but want to remove the spots. Thanks.
We were a little nervous too. But we used it on both the car seat and the leather couch and haven't noticed any issues with staining or bleaching the leather. It worked really well for us. Good luck.
Did you call the painters? Lol they have the stuff to clean it you know. I’m a painter so trust me I know they do.
Thanks for this. We have a L4060HSTC-LE too and it was really helpful to know what I was getting into. I purchased the same lights and installed on the front and rear using Kubota factory switches in the cab. Tip for anyone doing this - when fishing for the wiring harnesses in the cab, the white plug is for the front lights and the colored plug is for the rears. I pulled them through in the wrong order on the first try. The wiring for the front lights under the roof includes a rubber plug. You peel off a square of tape off the frame above the windshield and the wiring will feed through the frame with a weather tight seal. If installing rear lights, the wiring is not under the roof but instead taped to the wiring for the rear flashers on the bracket outside the cab - much more accessible. Looking forward to getting the plowing done early before the sun rises now so our staff can get into work - thanks again for the help.
I glad to hear about the rear lights. A dealer told me the second plug ( beside the front work light plug)was for wipers but that really didn't make sense. I've learned since then that it was in fact for the rear lights but wasn't sure where the wiring ended up. Thanks for the tip.
The 2nd hole is actually for the switch for the Rear work lights, not the wiper. There’s another blank spot on the front of the cab up top for the rear wiper. 👍
Thanks Chris. That's what I thought it was for, but the dealership told me it was for the wipers and I never followed up and traced the wires to confirm. I appreciate your input. That should make it a lot easier to install the rear work lights.
That's a beautiful dog.
Thank you! I learn something every time I watch one of your videos, so I hope you continue to make them.
Thanks, that's really nice to hear. I've been busy the past several months watching my granddaughter but she's moving soon, so I'll probably do a few videos after that just to keep busy.
Or just use paint thinner and alcohol
That may work too but I wasn't sure how harsh that would be on the leather and definitely didn't want to take a chance of removing the dye.
Paint thinner is known to ruin leather
@@thronewalker1153 I used paint thinner, nothing happened, it's fine.
If you use this just make sure you clean it with soap and water after wards so the gas , paint thinner and or what ever else you used
Use paint thinner but then rehydrate the leather with mothers leather restore. Make sure you wipe excess thinner and then clean the surface before applying leather restore. Once the leather restore is applied remove excess and let sit for a couple mins. 👍
Seems more like a safety video than proof hooks are a bad idea. You make excellent points, but it looks like hooks are useful for certain light tasks. Example: lifting a disconnected bucket. Glad I watched this.
Thanks for the comment. I do agree with you that they can be useful for certain LIGHT tasks. But I'm sure you've seen a lot of the same videos I have where people seem to think this little hook turns your subcompact tractor into a 10 ton crane or a tow truck. I've definitely ruined my share of equipment over the years and hope to share something with others that might keep them from repair bills.
Thanks a million! Just did the same thing and now have to clean the seats.
Good luck. It worked really well for us. We were worried anything to harsh would stain or bleach the seats out but there's no damage at all.
Very good job on the install and working through the issues. They make such a huge difference. That's one beautiful tractor, btw! - David
Thanks alot. There's a few more mods we want to do but overall, really happy with this tractor.
Good job. My wife and I are learning our tractor skills also and enjoying the heck out of it 😁👍
That is great. This challenge was done just for fun but we found out it is pretty good training too.
Great Job gotta love those LED’s looks awesome 😁👍🚜💨💡
Thanks, I'm pretty happy with them. Really makes a difference.
I had the front ones on my lx, I put some on the back also. Iam contemplating mounting some to the loader to shine in front of my tires and behind the loader bucket. Working a fire at night I've had small limbs push in between the wheel and side guards.
That sounds like a good idea. After I finished this, I thought about changing out a putting a light bar up front and move one of the pods to the rear. Maybe something I'll try this summer.
Good job getting them installed, huge difference. I just got in from a little night snow blowing.
Thanks. I would definitely prefer to install the lights in 45 degree Temps than be plowing snow.
Very cool 😎 I will put this in my Mental toolbox 🧰 for later. Thanks for sharing 😁👍🚜💨💡
Thanks, and congrats on the 1K.
@@stonehousebarn2737 Thanks for noticing have a great week😁👍🚜💨💡
@@stonehousebarn2737 😁👍 It felt like FOREVER! Thank you
Congratulations, Tractor Queen! 😂Nice work. I'm not even going to try that with my clamp-on forks!
Oh boy, going to have to trade in the tractor now. I'm sure her head won't fit in the cab anymore.
LOL 😂🍾
Great Job Gloria!!!😂👍
I think she's ready to hook up the baler and bale some hay this summer.
HAHAH the cows look like they are doing a good job... I have not attached hooks and may not have to since I got pallet forks and will have a grapple in spring/Summer... Good info for us noobs.
I think that's a good choice. My pallet forks are the most used attachment, but the grapple is definitely the most fun.
great video
Thanks, I appreciate that and thanks for watching.
You have some great points I welded the hooks on and really don't use it much because of traction and tipping hazard like you mentioned. I do use the hooks on my stump bucket more to lift and move stumps out of the hole. Great information for people that are thinking about hooks. 👨🏻🏭🚜💨💡
Thanks, I know its a cheap, easy mod and they really do have some benefits, but I'm not sure a lot of users understand the limitations. I know everyone has to work with what they have and it shouldn't be any concern to me how they use their equipment, but its kind of a pet peeve for me. Just like driving with the loader bucket too high.
Good input! Thank you for sharing this information. I’m adding hooks to protect my bucket and distribute the load evenly when lifting plants from my flower beds. Forks would be best, but my sub compact has only a pin on bucket and I am waiting for bolt on forks from my dealer. I have a compact tractor with forks and a grapple for heavier lifting. Your information is very helpful and prompted me to seriously consider how I plan to use my tractors.
I understand the points about the bucket to skid steer attachment concerns . But surely the axle & loader to frame loads and sideways motions are the same with a grapple or forks . Mine a pinned on bucket( heavy duty) as quick attach is not available in Thailand
@Thaijohn1968 I understand what you're saying, but you should have enough rear ballast to keep the rear end on the ground with the bucket, grapple or forks. Also, the connection point to the loader bucket, when pulling in reverse, is most likely above the front axle which increases the chances of lifting the rear.
First of all I would never use the bolt on type I would weld my hooks on like I have in the past I would never use the hooks to try pulling anyting just lifting certain things... like you said pulling is for the draw bar. Good pointers
Thanks for the feedback. If I did install them I think I would weld them too. I know they're a cheap and easy mod, just not sure I'd use them more than a couple times.
@@stonehousebarn2737 only time I use them is to maybe grab a Implement to move it around or on load one from the back of the truck or trailer nothing too aggressive I have a back hole for the heavy stuff and I have a grapple bucket just every now and then the hooks on the bucket do come in handy maybe to hold a 55 gallon drum in place while you're carrying it and so forth... I do agree with you 100% cuz there are some people that just try foolish things
Now thats how you handle big trees, nice grapple work. I think ill get a grapple this spring.
Thanks, they're worth the money. I doubt you'll ever hear many people say they regret buying one. Looking forward to seeing you put yours to work with that BX.
Good video, also nice truck! Same one!
I noticed that too. I need to check out your video on the exhaust upgrade and take some notes.
The cab tractor comes in handy I'm sure. My next purchase!
Thanks, it's kind of like when you finally upgrade to a tractor with a loader, you swear you'll never buy one without it again. I don't expect to ever buy another open cab tractor.
Good Story Good info to know Thanks for sharing Phil PFON
Thanks Phil. Watched your video of getting your tractor stuck in a rut. The pucker factor is real on that one when the rear tire comes off the ground. I've been there too.
