They dialed that shock ammo down some, but it still hits hard if you strafe sideways and shoot a ground connection once in a while. Easy to tangle in though!

We got the same dailies is all. And those puppies keep you alive in a base assault.

I come from hillbillies...it's about aiming with a squint and a gut feeling. Watch "Sgt York" for hillbilly reference. But the sights on that gun are trash.

It's great against fixed targets at extended ranges. That isn't always the case, when I'm hunting with friends, so I leave it in the box until I need it.

Everyone's game seems to have peculiarities. Spawns or items vary and change over time. Maybe we trigger it as we play?

@@skeptician3799 Pretty sure it was there as part of a mission the first time, it was in the way of something, dunno, too long ago. And yeah, my loots are in different places to Docs and anyone I've played with, not the main ones, just small stuff like ammo boxes and stuff.

The Rival robots have better armor and react faster. The EMP thrown to stun him did not last long enough. I was also testing the gun to see how it worked up close. When you are a resurrecting guerilla that teleports, you can experiment at no real cost to yourself. More of an arcade experience than a true battle simulator.

It is tough to get tank tier FMTEL goodies without melee or base attacks with one arm tied behind your back. It's self-abuse but I like 5 crown things.

Since I was at my base, I could have just taken everything and then sorted through it in front of the plundra. But it is a boring exercise for viewers to sit through.

You need to keep robs from getting close and causing it to spark against you. Base walls help keep them back.

For defending a position, they are a force multiplier.

I always start and end in Kirkhjoden because you spawn in front of the plundra. Easy to trade with my mule. And if you start there, the tank always spawns.

@@skeptician3799 yeah it ends tomorrow. I think I've gotten to end game a couple of times. It will be fun to make that journey again with someone who hasn't played it before and now with some of the new toys. I'll probably hit you up when I get to that end game point again.

I think they did tweak base assaults. The numbers were near the same, but they fired on the base and me a lot more effectively. I might bump it down to adventure for those so it doesn't cost as much.

@@skeptician3799 haha well I did watch the video from the day before when you weren't playing with them. Your mic is a bit quiet, which is fine, it just took me a bit to figure out who was talking in the video.

Most gaming headsets don't. But no worries. It was just nice to run across some other older dudes like myself tearing it up. You play anything other than GenZ? You guys got a discord?

@@DJ_NOOB I use Dr. Realgood's discord for our games. There's an open game every Sunday. Just send Doc a friend request on discord/steam and tell him Skep sent ya. Always looking for players.

We play on scalable skirmish, which is a tough setting. Adventure setting would have made him a little easier.

@@skeptician3799 I have been playing on normal mode and sometimes find myself in a pickle. A little repetitive but still a fun game to play.

@@krie8879 Multiplayer is more fun. I like to drop into random servers when I get bored and want to help new players. That's how you find your people and learn new things...

@@skeptician3799 Didn't know you could do that. Figured you had to know others that play to get invited.

@@krie8879 When the game first opens click "multiplayer" and enter your game preferences, then it finds you an open game. It can be a mixed bag of people but you are free to try another if they are available.

You may be right. No big deal, I like farming rivals.

Happened to us too as you can see. Always unstable for a while after a big patch. But we quickly got back in and continued.

Same Caleb. There is always a repatch after a patch until it finally settles down. I'm on PC so I'm able to throw upgrades in, but it still has teething issues for a while after an update.

I have noticed over the years playing this that the robots evolve over time just like a real war. The programmers actively evaluate our tactics. What works today may need adjustment tomorrow. That makes this game interesting after thousands of hours. So far as weapons, buying a DLC can get you 3 crown versions in your plundra immediately. There are also weapons you get for doing missions. High level gear can be found on Himfjall island if you get that DLC.

That's what you get when you are high level and play on scalable skirmish. You can take your time and stealth around, but it is boring on video. Try setting the game to adventure without scaling if you want it a little tamer. It can be as intense as you want to set it.

It shows up in loot from machines once you get a DLC that includes it. If the launcher is on your character, you get it more readily.

You can upgrade the plundra to 1600. Look along the bottom of the plundra screen for the option

Experiments have also found that you can't give coord points to someone and only the host collects them from Rivals. And only one each on the map. I have both in Farmlands and it shows 9 rivals. The other thing is they only spawn in the 3 regions with bases. At least you can reuse the same base to spawn without rebuilding the region.

@@skeptician3799 Ahh. I've just watched Doc knock his off and it's everything I dislike in the game. I've got ~240 Russian points and was considering giving them away, but... Well I might as well spawn one and get it over with, it might make a good 2 hour movie with intermission.

@@paulieplayspoorly Well give it a go and if you don't like it, you can just kill Swedish rivals. I've got 2-3 Reapers stored up for MP hunts. It's like a bank account for when you want it. I'll do the same with Vultures, sock the points away for future get-togethers.

correction. I have been informed that you can drop points for friends to pick up. FYI

@@skeptician3799 I know it needs to be done, but I've been putting it off. I've got a general malaise about this game ATM anyway, I might have to give it up for a month or two. I might donate my points, then, and ride off into the sunset.

I hear ya about the plundra. Having to teach my hands to do things that were habit before.

My first spawn I spent almost three hours taking it down and got a five star lmg mag. What a let down.🤬

@@scubasteve3032 Yeah I've been hearing about loot being skimpy lately. I still get some experimentals but I would like to get the laser Meusser rifle to play with.

Building bases spurs enemy bases. I built 12 and have 13 enemy bases. May have to drop by with a work crew and build him a few.

I saw some utility in the gatling but didn't know it slows you down running. It will work well next time I'm trapped in a house or need to finish off a Reaper.

I was playing with resolution on a widescreen and OBS didn't like it. I'll get that dialed back in. And I get concrete from base defense too, but usually lose some back repairing the base.

Trying to get up on the barn...or a dog ran in front of me.

Doing rocket jumps like in Quake 😁😁
