Welcome to Russ and Cindy HiAce Adventures. We live in regional Qld, Australia and the most important things to us are our Faith and our Family. We enjoy seeing those things that are close to home and things a bit further away.
Mental Health is really important to us and travel is our way of refreshing our minds and bodies as we take in the beauty that God has surrounded us with.

Gluten free pizza in camp oven over fire
We cook gluten free pizza in a camp oven/ dutch oven over a fire and show you our van.

Magnesium stick purchased of eBay: and is an Aussie land camping gear fire starter ferro magnesium rod.

Pizza base recipe:
Ingredients
7g sachet dry yeast
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 1/2 cup plain flour (310g) or if using gluten free flour 2 cups and maybe a little more if needed.
2 tbspn olive oil
2 tbspn semolina or polenta
Method
Combine the yeast, salt, sugar and 1 cup of warm water in a small bowl and leave covered for 10 minutes in a warm place until it becomes foamy.
Measure the flour into a large bowl, make a well in the middle and add the foamy mixture of yeast and mix well until it comes together as a ball. At this point if you are using gluten free flour assess the dough if it seems too dry add more water if it seems too wet you could add more flour. You want it to come together and be pliable.
If you are using gluten free flour you are ready to roll it out onto your tray, after oiling it and adding polenta if desired. (I didn’t,do that this time but sometimes do, if I have polenta available, if not leave it off.
If using normal flour you will need to knead the dough for around 5 minutes on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic.
Roll dough out to thickness and size desired. Divide the dough into 2 if you want thin crust and a 35cm pizza base tray, or use a cookie sheet for a large thin crust. If you want thick crust use as is on a 35cm round pizza tray.
Spread with pizza sauce and your choice of toppings.
Bake for around 30 minutes in a 210 deg oven.

Roadside camp near Cunnumulla

We camp in a roadside location around the Cunnumulla area that has been used by lots of people for overnight stops in the past. We cook roast pork and vegies and also maple syrup dumplings. Yum!! Also have a bit of a rant about road etiquette.

Alroy Station visit

We travel to Alroy Station and camp in our HiAce camper on the riverside. We cook a pizza in the camp oven and also attend the Fire to Fork dinner. Gayndah Historical Society is also the information centre in Gayndah. It has a large collection of historical buildings, vehicles and household items. Well worth a visit if you are passing through Gayndah or if you live in the district. The society also do regular steam up days which are well worth the visit.

Seeing old hospitals always makes me glad for modern day hospitals that we have. We take so much for granted today, and it is good to remind ourselves how people used to live. Thanks for sharing. 👍

Great video. I'd never heard of Barimoon until now, let alone the tunnels. Certainly worth a visit one day if we can fit it in, as only five hours away. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder what was at the bottom of all those steps, maybe next time we might get to see, what an interesting place the history behind this place is pretty cool
Next time you are in the area you should go and look. You will enjoy it and I'm sure the steps will still be there so you can find out firsthand and explore a little bit as well. Can't show you everything some things need to be discovered for yourself. That's makes exploring fun.
