While fishing for hybrid bass I got a monster instead.
You go to fast
I didn't quite understand your recommendation for the range setting. You said a general rule of thumb is range should be 3x your depth, but then immediately following that statement you said at 10ft depth you set range to 50ft. So did you mean the rule of thumb should be range is 5x your depth?
Honestly after using the units for many more years I always keep my range between 50-70ft in the mega frequency and almost never change it.
The way I understood it is whatever your water depth is add 10 ft to your range

What in gods name is that?
Paddle bill catfish, prehistoric fish that filter feeds kinda like a whale in the ocean.
Nice catch,, the sky and the water looks so pretty.
Great simple tutorial. Thanks for the help!
Thanks for sharing your video and really nice boat👍
Thanks buddy !
Is the mega si worth the money in your opinion?
Yes have the mega side imaging made locating under water cover so much easier
Awesome video!! I just got a Helix 9 (actually won it!). You video was incredibly helpful! Hitting the water tomorrow with my new settings
Cool good luck I appreciate the support check out my latest video on how to put it to use
by far the best video i have seen on this topic! thanks for doing this!
Thanks I appreciate the support !
Nice job explaining the side imaging in layman's terms. I did sub and like.
Thanks buddy. Have any other topics u want covered just let me know
Nice job bud!! Might want to think about getting a Ride VideoMicro or shotgun mic to cut down on that wind noise while you're out on the water. I really enjoyed the video though!!
Thanks ! Yeah the wind got pretty bad at times it ruined a few segments lol
than u so much, is this mega si or si?
Mega SI
Nice boat man ,
Thanks brian!
Good video man thanks
Thanks bud I'm gonna start doing more here soon
Goes a bit too fast, overall VG.
Sorry lol I wanted to bang it out quick before I lost thoughts, I need to do an update actually I've learned a few new tricks
Great video.......... subbed and liked 👍
Thanks buddy I need to update I have found a couple new tricks that I wanna show. Such as using dynamic contrast, so u can bump up sensitivity a little more. I also have mega 360 now and I would like to film that
Chart speed is how fast your screen displays and brings back new info. If you run 1 it collects and pings less than speed of 10. Has nothing to do with water speed. I had that messed up for years myself.
Right but if u run a 10 chart speed and ur only doing 2mph it's gonna ping that target many times so it's gonna make it seem bigger than it is. It will also clutter the screen, I still think keeping chart speed and boat speed matched or close is really important.
@@azurwth01 That make since. I am going to try that and see how it does.
What lake is this ?
Corinith
@@azurwth01 thank you sir I knew it looked local. Thought it was boltz.
You need to try sensitivity to 16 contrast 4 and sharp on low. My pics are way better than those
I started bringing my sensitivity to about a 12 contrast 10 with dynamic contrast on
You should change it each time your out not just set it on something and leave it tbh
Fantastic video, man. Really helped a lot. Found you through FB and glad I did.
Hey thanks man, appreciate the feedback. Gonna make some more videos soon on the mega 360 my new hobie kayak and the 2021 tourney fishing season so I stay tuned!
Pp yay
Thanks for the, where is that, challenge. No way that's Texas. Figured out it is Kentucky. Technically, in Texas, our lake is Cedar Creek Reservoir but most people call it Cedar Creek Lake. Good fishing, enjoyed watching.
This lake was modeled after the one in Texas they sometimes call it little lake fork
Jon, great content- does the transducer mount easily to the Outback’s provided mounting position for raising and lowering. How would you compare this model to the Lowrance 7” HDS w, 3-1 transducer? Thanks, West.
Nice video Jon, I appreciate the information.
When you were really young, you would say that fishing was being one with nature. I see that in everything you do.
I don't think you will see a thermocline in 9' of water. Good general information though.
I was thinking that too. But even on the 2d sonar u can clearly see the thermo aroubd that 12 foot mark. Lake has max depth of 30 feet and is only 25 acres
Is it rain proof?
Sorry just saw this message yes the fish finders are water proof
The sun sparkling on the water is beautiful.
Nice fish man. That's one hell of a kayak! Tight lines from BFG
Thanks buddy sorry for the late reply just seeing this
Aye man, keep up the good work!
Nice video. Ya know that big hatch in front of your yak? Rain gear fits well in there...lol

Jon Flynn Fishing good job! Love all those lakes. And if I see you there I’ll say what’s up! Going to doe Sunday. Gonna try to drop shot and jig fish there
hey good luck its gonna be muddy and at winter pool. be safe water is still cold. and yeah day Hi I like meeting new people
Hey man, I like your videos good stuff. I’m pretty awful at fishing myself. I’ll tell you what though if I could catch a fish the size of some of my turds, I’d die a happy man.
whooptapus thanks bud winter is just a tough time of year. few more months and it'll be good again . if you ever have any questions let me know I like to do" how to" videos
I cant believe the fish are still biting.
Jeannine Hensley they never stop eating even in the winyer. but its harder and less often. in tge summer a fish might eat 10 times a day. in the winter it might be once a week
I feel your pain homie, the struggle is definitely real. Keep grinding brother. And get you some hand warmers man, they are life savers lol. Much clown love!!
The Juggalo Fishing Posse thanks bro yeah it's it's tough and getting tougher the water starting to freeze over to I got out today and managed one blue cat but I got another three days of fishing so hopefully I can manage some bigger ones
The Juggalo Fishing Posse thanks for checking out the video also if you don't mind I could always use another subscriber
@@azurwth01 already did homie
The struggle is real! I haven't caught much of anything since the end of October winter fishing is tough! Nice video man new sub here
FinFinderTV hey thanks brother means a ton !! I'm gonna release a video a week at least so stay tuned I got two plans for this weekend and even on Christmas I'll find some fish lol
@@azurwth01 I'll be looking forward to it! Ive been out trying to make videos every chance I get but the winter lockjaw has been kicking my ass!
FinFinderTV yeah totally understand in the winter time and you just got a fish super slow you got to trust your electronics and you got to downsize those baits
Cant wait for next summer's adventures.
Jeannine Hensley I cannot wait either
Amazing catch dude!
Nautically Lost thanks man it was a fun fish blew my mind
Jon Flynn Fishing is that a salt water fish? I mean dang it’s huge!
Nautically Lost nope fresh water. Ohio river it's a prehistoric fish that's been around for 64 million years give or take
Good video. Like to see people fishing the same places I do.
LUKY GUY yeah I fish all over northern Kentucky we can have some good water. thanks for watching I'll be releasing more and better videos as time goes on.
