What is axle to axle uncocked ? Thanks
Great video guys! Excited to (not) see you during Spring Turkey Season! Gobblers beware 🦃
This was surprising to me because I was sold on high end scent control clothing such as Scent-lok, Sitka Gear top is 600$ but Sitka is dealing with this problem of UV light. Scent control is a huge deal but you're not going to fool a deers nose regardless. I do keep Scent control do the best of my ability with a spray that I found that a lot of clothing apparel use in Polygiene spray that we used and sprayed bacon with it and threw it out to use with my German Shepherd and he found the bacon that wasn't sprayed and I video it. Scent-lok works best for me going in and out of the woods. The deer nose is made to find food and of course it will pick up predators but it looks horizontally for predators walking around with it's eyes first. Quick Camo definitely works and we used it and will continue to use it.
The best camo on the market!!!
Will ot hold up in cold weather? I hunt here in Alberta Canada at temperatures around-20 windchill around -24.
@@donaldduffy8947 I've never had it out lower than the teen's yet but it's out performed the RAViN especially on the durability and accuracy. That Ravin is cool to look at but several problems with the cans as well as throwing bolts across the field. BARNETT 385 is the first Barnett that I've hunted with and probably won't go back to the Xpedition Xlite this is going to be a tough one to beat. The longer video is coming.
aren't you that UFC fighter from the early 2000s? your a beast man
How fast is it?
385 fps
@@donaldduffy8947 385 feet per second is what the 385 stands for. It's fast and accurate! No gimmick looks just a solid crossbow with a good scope. I've shot it out to 60 yards consistently
I have a ruger American in 204 ruger. Love the rifle but has a big bulky mag where did you find that flush magazine or did it come with it
Tong Poe Muay thai.?😂
Awesome
The Nightforce 5.5-22x56 is an exceptional scope when it comes to clarity, durability, and precision. The large 56mm objective lens provides a bright and clear image, even in low-light conditions, making it ideal for long-range shooting. The adjustments are precise, and the construction is incredibly robust, which is expected from a brand like Nightforce. That said, while the performance is top-tier, the price tag can feel a little steep for what you’re getting. There are definitely cheaper alternatives on the market that can deliver similar results without breaking the bank. Brands like Vortex and Leupold offer models that come close in performance but at a more budget-friendly price. If you’re committed to having the best, the Nightforce won’t disappoint, but if you’re looking to maximize value, there are other options worth considering.
Great info!👍👍
👍👍👍
HEY SPENCER!!!!
Is that Spencer “The King” fisher talking??
I purchased the Athlon Ares and it's very comparable to NightForce and it's the best scope that you've used but i really want to see the thermal athlon
I bought that scope last year after watching the video but I paid more than I said that it was but is the best scope you've ever used better than the Leupold!
Which ammo grouped the best in this video
Got everyone paying full attention!
Them rings…
Great stuff!!
I'll have to check Muddy stands out. Thanks for sharing your review of it.
Thanks for the scope recommendation! I picked one up and am very pleased with it.
Nice! A lot of great info! Definitely prepares you for the experience.👍👍👍
Just bid on one. Fingers crossed I am the winning bidder. I have the same brand of muzzle brake. I went with the CB magnum version. Recoil is minimal.
Automatic TU's for a former UFC fighter! Know full-well who you are and saw most of your fights. As to the scope, it's a good bang for the buck, no doubt.
I thought the lop was 13.75...
Why the hell is the music so loud?
Exactly and we've had to change this video several times and had to different camera man and camera but we got taken off because copy rights. So all of our good ones were taken down.
Best to buy the Athlon Ares ETR through Expert Voice for around $625 just have a friend or relative in the military or law enforcement or first responders buy it for you through Expert Voice for at least 40% off. The markups on Chinese scopes such as this Athlon Ares ETR is really insane. They cost around $100 (give or take) to manufacture in China.
Can you tell me how to buy the athlon ares etr 4.5 -30 x56 scope for 625$?..thank you
@@quyenbao3880 The sale price went up and now $745. Go to "Expert Voice" and see if you qualify based on your occupation or maybe your household member might qualify.
How much does it cost that is brand new and not used?
The Ruger American is a 22" barrel version and its 490 new. Not sure about the predator but it'll be around that I guess.
The Athlon Ares ETR is the best Chinese scope that money can possibly buy. I'd recommend buying them only whenever they go on sale for $900 or less.
It's currently 1,240$
@@senditffh7919 Wait until they go on sale Black Friday deals for under $900 or have a friend or relative in law enforcement or military or first responders buy it for you through (Expert Voice) anytime for around $625. Law enforcement Military discounts are at least 40% cheaper.
Certain dealers can and do offer Athlon and other brands a lot cheaper than most places just have to know who to call for a better price quote over the phone. Sometimes you see scopes selling for a lot cheaper through Walmart online and Amazon too sometimes but Expert Voice is the cheapest at least 40% off. Sometimes DVOR has really good 40%-60% off sales too. It's totally insane to pay typical selling prices for Chinese made scopes. They're manufactured for literally pennies on the dollar using the cheapest quality Chinese materials and slave labor. But everyone already knows this.
I’ve been looking at the nightforce shv line. How do you think they compare to each other?
NightForce is probably the top tier optic but you definitely pay for it. I've got one and the Athlon Ares ETR comes with all the bell and whistles and is half the price. I've taken the NightForce out to 1,000 yards but the only reason I haven't taken the Athlon Ares because I've not been back to the long range that I can shoot the Athlon but plan on it. I've seen other videos of people using the Athlon Ares over a 1,000 yards with no complaints. I'll post it when I get back to the sawmill
I have the Nightforce SHV 5-20x56 illuminated SFP MOAR and image quality is noticeably clearer than on the Ares ETR and made in Japan while the Athlon Ares ETR is made in China. Their typical selling prices are similar. The Nightforce is better quality. If you want something better, buy the new Japan made Tract Toric 4-25x56 next time they go on sale (usually twice a year summertime and in December either 10% discount or $100 off sales) or have a friend or relative in law enforcement or military buy it for you anytime for 15% off ($1250 or so give or take instead of $1500 regular price). It's better than the $2000 Zeiss LRP S3 version also made in Japan. It's going to be a scope you'll probably never need to upgrade ever. In fact I'm probably going to upgrade my Nightforce SHV for the Tract Toric 4-25x56 that has an insanely huge total elevation of 41 MILs and uses German Schott glass. I have the 4.5-30x56 Tract Toric and it's better than my similarly priced top of the line Japan made Athlon Cronus 4.5-29x56.
How is the vision in the early morning or around dusk? Is there good clarity when there isn’t much sunlight or in the shade of tree canopy?
The glass is one of the best that I've looked through. Again I've been using the illuminated reticle for both when the sun glare was a problem to see the target and in the evening this optic really does it all for half the price of the higher end scopes.
Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 is hands down superior in low light conditions. $799 demo at Scopelist and EuroOptic or often on sale for $850 brand new at Sportsman's. Made on Europe Czech republic not China like the Athlon Ares ETR. The optional sunshade is a must there's too much light going into the scope during bright daylight hours. Sucks in way too much light making it a fantastic night time scope.
How is the clarity on rainy/foggy/cold days?
To be honest I haven't had it in those conditions but have dropped it on cement from about 4ft and still holds zero. With some of the other scopes I've put them in water, freezer and I would say that half did what they claimed. I'll do a test on water resistance and freezing. I'll either make a video of it or I'll post about the results on here.
I would like to know how this holds up in low lighting?
I think it's in the top 3 optics I've used all around. Especially in low light conditions in the morning or evening with the illuminated reticle. It's right up there beside the NightForce and that's an extra 1,000$ for the same ability as the Athlon Ares ETR. If you know anyone who has one or the ability to look through one you'll be able to see for yourself. Thanks
The Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 is noticeably better in low light and it's made in Europe Czech republic not China. They go on sale for $850 new or $799 demo plus $50 for the sunshade which is a necessity.
How’s it hold up to heavy recoil ?
We've shot it on several different guns from 308, 30-06, 300 win mag, 7mm, 338 Lapua and didn't have any problems with it and held zero. Great Glass. This optic is really in the top 3 optics I've tested for half the money for the higher end scopes and performs just as well. Thanks
How’s it hold up to heavy recoil ?
This scope has been used on several different calibers from 308, 30-06, 300 win mag, 7mm, 338 and never had a problem with recoil and I've taken it out to 500 yards and the glass is super clear and I could see the 3 inch bullseye with no problem. I've not been able to go to a place with a longer range but have seen other videos of people shooting a 1000 yards and they were happy with this optic.
How clear is the scope at dusk? I'm in the market now looking for something like this.
If you're looking for a dusk and dawn type of scope it's hard to beat the Meopta Optika 6 5-30x56 made in Europe Czech republic with Schott glass. $799 for demo models (sometimes they even send you brand new ones at this price) at EuroOptic and Scopelist or often on sale for $850 brand new at Sportsman's. Nothing coming out of China can beat it in regards to low light shooting capabilities.
How does the sight hold up after firing?
We've shot the Athlon Ares ETR on a 338 Lapua and didn't have any issues with it. I can't say the same thing for some of the other optics we used and actually one very well known higher end optic couldn't hold zero on the 338 Lapua.
During low light conditions how would you grade it
Great for low light conditions and has an illuminated reticle. I actually used the reticle in daylight hours because of how the sun was shining that I had a hard time seeing my target. After I turned it on I was on every shot.
I had this scope along with the new Vortex 3-18, but sent the PA back because the dots left or right of center are not visibly usable until your magnification gets up to about 11. So you can't really use the windage dots if you dial elevation and below 11 magnification. I ended up going with the Vortex version with the same 3-18 ×44. I could use that reticles windage sub tensions down to about 6 power! and it's also a couple of oz lighter. The horizontal view in the scope at min/max zoom provided more viewing width in the Vortex. I had both of these scopes side by side for two weeks. Lastly, the PA scopes parallax adjustment was really stiff! So stiff that adjusting it while looking through the scope made it difficult to know when parallax had been completely removed. In the vortex, it was stiff but yet smooth enough to know while looking through the scope that all the parallax had been removed. I'm glad I went with Vortex for my intended use. I love PA and the reticle design here, but this scope needs bigger dots to be useful below 10 magnification if you dial for elevation.
Man that gun sounds like monster , pretty cool it has illumination I’m a newer gun owner what will something like this set you back and are all scopes interchangeable to different models of guns
Tong Poe Muay Thai?
good video spencer,,,,, keep them coming !
Great video!!!!
I try to keep it short and to the point. If anyone has any questions about any of the Scopes just ask.
Great video, I am surprised that the Leupold didn’t hold a closer grouping.
Leupold is a great scope that's been around for a long time but the Athlon Ares simply did better all around.
Is this a first focal plane? And what’s the length of the scope?
It is a first focal and 34mm
It looks like a good scope. Good video. Hello and thanks to the new assistant cameraman.
