Interesting video, i think one thing that is a big difference is what it means to invest. like buying a house and keeping it for yourself if is a very different decision from investing in assets for capital gains. I think real estate as an investment is not truly passive and maintenance costs are not something you have to deal with in stocks. the idea of quickly selling a house and flipping it for other houses is not simple as you say whereas its 2 clicks of a button on your phone for stocks. I think we are just historically told buy a house and for that reason people see it as their only investment vehicle and miss out on market returns like you say.
@@Paidtosleepfinance appreciate the perspective and I agree, even as a home owner myself, I could see the difference in gains if I was to invest my ‘deposit’ into the market. It’s just not comparable. The ‘mortgage’ was the ultimate invention to keep people with a ‘financial thumb’ on them. Genius when you think about it😅
