I am a cover artist based in the UK and cover music and video game soundtracks using a Sega Megadrive/Genesis.
When creating my covers I don't make them with the intention of being able to run in the background
of an old Megadrive game, I create them purely for the sake of music and also for fun.
Trying to recapture that classic 16-bit era of gaming from back in the day with Sega.

Rush - High Water (Mega Drive Cover)
A 16-bit rendition of High Water from the album Hold Your Fire by Rush, redone with 6 channel YM2612 and 4 channel SN76489 using a GenMDM connected to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis.
Hold Your Fire is the twelfth studio album by Canadian rock band Rush, released on September 8, 1987. It was recorded at The Manor Studio in Oxfordshire, Ridge Farm Studio in Surrey, Air Studios in Montserrat and McClear Place in Toronto. Hold Your Fire was the last Rush studio album released outside Canada by PolyGram/Mercury. 'Til Tuesday bassist and vocalist Aimee Mann contributed vocals to "Time Stand Still" and appeared in the Zbigniew Rybczyński-directed video.
The album was not as commercially successful as most of the band's releases of the 1980s, peaking at number 13 on the Billboard charts, the lowest chart peak for a Rush album since 1978's Hemispheres. However, it was eventually certified Gold by the RIAA.

Dark Hollow was one of my fav tracks from Spyro, but this Mega Drive Cover puts such an 80s spin to it. I really love the beat that was added and I'm jamming to this on loop while working.
For me it's both Dark Hollow and Twilight Harbour from the first Spyro that were my favourites. :)

Sonic 4 soundtrack is so underated but the main problem with it is that you have to hear fan remixes to notice how awesome they could have been
That is my biggest problem with the Sonic 4 soundtrack as a whole! There are some really good compositions here, but it's ruined by the choice of instruments! And the crazy shit is: Jun Senoue (Or however you spell his name) Is a damn good composer as evidenced by the Dreamcast era Sonic Games, including Heroes! You can even see that with some of the Sonic Superstar songs, when he works with the right people, he can crank out some bangers! Look no further than Bridge Island Zone Act 1. He and Tee Lopes make a good team! I just wish he would stop using those pseudo mega drive instruments!
Everyone just heard the horrible boss music, the Sonic 3D rejected track and said NOPE
I feel like it needed more beef, but so long as this track gets acknowledgment and love, i'm in.
Can't wait to hear more, especially from FF4 and FF6.
The description is wrong, these are not re-arrangements by Jun Senoue, but versions of the tracks from an older build than 1103. That was a mistake on SEGA's part.
You managed to make a stage theme that has a lot of potential sound more coherent.
